Operation Barbarossa

Conflicts: Operation Barbarossa is a highly rated turn based strategy game set on the Eastern Front during the Second World War.
You are in command of the German WWII armed forces
- tanks, infantry and air force units
- and the object of the game is to conquer the Soviet Union as quickly as possible. To have a chance to seize the top spot in the Hall of Fame you need to skillfully encircle scores of Red Army infantry units with your panzers, while battling both the feared T-34 tank units and the notorious Russian weather.

FEATURES:

+ Historical accuracy: Campaign mirrors the historical setup.

+ Long-lasting: Thanks to in-built variation and the game's smart AI technology, each game provides a unique war gaming experience.

+ Competitive: Measure your strategy game skills against others fighting for the Hall of Fame top spots.

+ Supports casual play: Easy to pick up, leave off, continue later.

+ Challenging: Crush your enemy quickly and earn the bragging rights on the forum.

+ Reinforcements and replacement units, plus new unit types
- like Tiger I tanks
- if the war lasts several years.

+ Experienced units learn new skills, like improved attack or defense performance, extra move points, damage resistance, ability to cross rivers without losing move points, etc.

+ Settings: Various options are available to alter the look of the gaming experience: Change difficulty level, choose icon set for units (NATO or REAL) and cities (Round, Shield, or Square), decide what is drawn on the map, change font and hexagon sizes.

+ A large range of WWII units under your command: tanks, infantry, motorized infantry, weak Axis infantry, Waffen SS troops, the German air force and espionage units. Meanwhile, the Red Army starts with weaker infantry, cavalry and tank units, but as the weeks pass, is reinforced with stronger Siberian and T-34 tank units.

+ Weather modelling: Spring/autumn mud slows movement, while winter reduces line-of-sight and freezing cold hampers units, especially mechanized ones.

+ Tablet friendly strategy game: Automatically scales the map for any physical screen size/resolution from small smartphones to HD tablets, while settings allow you to fine tune hexagon and font sizes.

+ Inexpensive: The entire WWII eastern front for the price of a coffee!

In order to be a victorious general, you must learn to coordinate your attacks in two ways. First, as adjacent units give support to an attacking unit, keep your units in groups in order to gain local superiority. Secondly, it is rarely the best idea to use brute force when it is possible to encircle the enemy and cut off its supply lines instead.

If you want to test this WWII game, a free 15-turn-version is available.

Conflict-Series has offered highly rated Android-only strategy games since 2011. The campaigns are based on the time-tested gaming elements TBS (turn-based strategy) enthusiasts are familiar with from both the classic PC war games and legendary tabletop board games. I also want to thank the fans for all the well thought-out suggestions over the years which have allowed these campaigns to improve at a much higher rate than what any indie developer could dream of. if you have feedback about the Conflict-Series please use email, this way we can have a constructive back and forth conversion without all the limits of the store's comment system. In addition, because I have huge number of projects on multiple stores, it’s just not very sensible to spend handful of hours each day going through hundreds of pages spread all over the Internet to see if somebody has posted a question somewhere -
- just send me an email and I will answer to it as soon as I'm online. Thanks for understanding!

Really good game as always. Here's a game (or feature) idea, a map editor for the game. You can place down pillbox or garrisons, etc. I understand if it might be hard to make, but I would like to see it added. Again, it's a great game.

Another excellent game by Joni. This is a larger unit scale and smaller map version of his Eastern Front game. It has an interesting feature where you can vary deployment at the start of the game to plan your own offensive. Engaging variations.

A fantastic What If? simulation - straightforward, but a great balance of scale and ease of play, but allowing strong operational and strategic decisions. A fantastic game!

Terrific value. A lot of gameplay and satisfyingly challenging. Took me quite a few attempts and I play such games quite a lot! Suggest trying Barbarossa first. Slightly larger scale and helps you ease in a bit😬

I have been playing this game for a while now. I have a love hate relationship with it. It is fun and engaging with a slightly steep learning curve. If you like board game style game play, I fully recommend this game and this author's whole series. 4 stars from me!!

highly addictive and realistic strategic game

I have been playing the game addictively for years, but the latest change that prevents you from reinforcing units on the front line made it much more difficult to win and it just isn't worth the trouble to play at this point. This kind of small tinkering had a big effect on playability and it broke my addiction to the game.

Great game, developer has been tweaking and fine tuning for years and it shows. Each game is a little different and variability (luck) plays a role with weather effects, terrain and fog or war all impacting play. It forces you to become a more balanced strategist, also has a fine tactical feel with some nuance to master. I also really appreciate that the only ads are from Joni, I have purchased a bunch of his other games (definitely worth checking out the catalogue). And the quotes are great!

A great challenge to beat. Well balanced and complex with an engine that feels very realistic while staying intuitive. It never gets old playing this.

So like the SPI and Avalon Hill games. Great replay value. Will definitely be getting others in the series.

I have a few Nuutinen wargames, and I have to say that they are possibly the best out there. Very detailed, and very tactical. Smooth gameplay, no crashes for me so far. Good marker and map graphics. I highly recommend this developer to anyone who enjoys a good hex wargame. I have a recommendation for the developer: Napoleonic wars. Thanks Herr Nuutinen, keep up the good work!

Excellent turn based strategy wargame. Units gain experience and learn new skills from combat. Has all the classic components: supply, air power, mobility, encirclements, and weather. Variable setup and a good AI makes for a lot of replay.

I found this game very interesting. I had a hard time putting it down. The Russians were very irritated. You kill him, and they keep coming back.

Games come a long way, still improved scale not too big or complex, still trying to figure out encirclement. I think it was Jonis 1st game

Within the limits of a cell phone application, this strategic level game is really outstanding-and continuously upgraded. I will not hesitate to get products from this developer.
