Genuinely awful experience. Couldn't log into the app for weeks, the travel agents are impossible to talk to, and they fail to adhear to their own timeframes. After weeks of suggling, I was finally able to log in. It then said "take a look at our privacy settings" which I was unable to do because the button didn't work. And it doesn't let you continue until you've looked at the privacy settings. The app is unusable, the company is useless, and it's been nothing but infuriating.
Keep getting an error message when the results appear. Makes the app unusable. Have emailed the developer address shown here with screenshot. But that bounced. I'm assuming the app is no longer maintained. I'll use other resources. Can't copy the link in the reply from opodo so I'm leaving this app for now. No one has time to type out that long link.
Avoid at all cost!!! Front end of the app looks & feel fine, but if something goes wrong with your booking, or needs to change, the back end support & customer service is a total joke. They also trick you into thinking you can have the Prime service for free for a month, but then use your card details you used to make a flight booking to charge you £60 through a parent company. Incredibly deceitful, as its purposefully set up to catch you out. Still waiting for my Jan flight refund! Avoid!
The app is easy enough to use but I think certain things should be made clearer. For example: if your flight booking is unsuccessful, the Opodo Prime trial is automatically cancelled. I've wasted 1 hour 20 minutes today trying to cancel it. I honestly thought I was being scammed, until I spoke to an agent on the phone who explained that because the booking didn't go through, the Prime membership trial was not activated. This info should be in the help centre answers & chat bot replies.
Request passes online option is just terrible! After clicking a million times to reach the right date of birth for all passengers, the continue button doesn't work! And I tried a chat bot for support, which doesn't work as desired, meaning offers no help with the issue. Again waste of time. And, I am, mistakenly, a prime member, but only till expiration of what I paid (and lousy got) so far. So annoying that even one star seems too much at the time...
I was very happy to book a flight with opodo until they started to change the prices while i was booking it, saying that the price changed 4 times while i was booking it. I payed much more in just few minutes. After i finished paying i checked and the prices were the same even the next morning. Such liars. Horrible!!! Opodo It is the worst of all!!
Unfortunately the app barely works. I've been trying to buy tickets for the last four hours (the premium prices) only to get the comment that "an error has occurred". A while ago I managed to somehow insert my card details and received a mail and a voucher afterwards that they couldn't process my payment and they are sorry. I ve been trying again and again but now unfortunately I still get the "an error has occurred" message
The idea itself rubbish. The offeres' price before the membership is suitable, but after the subscription is rubbish and the offers are not close to the cheapest or best offer comparison with Skyscanner, whereas, the opodo price after the subscription is the highest offer. I will not advise any one to subscribe this website.
Atrocious & Shambolic. The app is easy enough to navigate and search but try adding passengers and in particular their date of birth and you're faced with a calender which you have to swipe back through calandar months and years to get to the date!!! For the past 2 days I've been trying to book a holiday for the family and every time I do there is an error message. This occurs when I add in the childrens details and I can't progress! Shambolic & I can't get hold of anyone. Utter nonsense.
It's a bit of a hassle to set the date of birth, as it's extremely time consuming and annoying to press that many times just to get the right year. That feature needs to be upgraded asap!
The app has a number of baffling design decisions. Things like inputting dates via scrolling through every month and year from the current date. Then there are the notifications, such as "your flight departs soon", which was sent around 24 hours before my flight was due to leave, making me briefly think I'd confused the dates, and was going to miss my flight. "Soon" in the context of a flight isn't over a day, "your flight leaves tomorrow" would be far more useful.
My flight got cancelled and I didn't find out about that from them. I am at the moment stuck in a foreign country with no flight home, do you think they care? Can't recommend! 0 stars, avoid like the plague! Update after 2 years and 2 months: finally got my money back, so happy I can uninstall your app and move on.
One of the key factors that made me want to sign up to Opodo Prime was that it seemed like they'd do automatic check in. Went on holiday to Portugal with Ryanair for a 8:45am ticket. The app said check in would be available at least 8 hrs prior to check in so i expected to wake up and be checked in. Woke up and it wasn't which led to stress and in the end had to pay £55 pp to check in at the desk in the airport. Emailed customer service 4 days ago and still no reply.
Booked my flights through the app after 3 attempts with it twice telling my payment had failed even though it did go through. My flights cannot been seen in the app and cannot be added despite them being confirmed and being visible on Opodo and the carriers website. The app seems a waste of time and doesn't work properly.
Imaginary flight fares, when you wish to complete booking suddenly price doubles due to fare prices went up. After new search cheap fare again available but not bookable. Don't even bother to be prime customer
Be aware, they stole my credit card info to register me for a prime membership while I did not even ask, subscribe, or register for such a service. I had once booked a flight through their app, and one month after, they charged me for a prime membership whithout any further notice or permission from my side. They keep my credit info saved, when I did not even allow them. They further has no email, contact info, or an option to delete your unwilling forced subscribtion. I need my money back!!!
I kept encountering an error when trying to enter my details for check in on the app (required to request boarding passes). When I finally got through the bot (bad UX..) the assistant explained Opodo doesn't have authorisation of some airlines to check in for customers despite the guarantee..it should be clearly stated prior to making a booking that the option is unavailable for airlines a, b and c. i feel Opodo unfairly collects sensitive personal data.
Very unorganised app. When I bought hotel, mobile app didn't show what hotel I bought and where... I rented a car, with full insurance, went to airport car rental to pick it up, they said it's not the insurance I need ao they, and I have to buy additional one or I won't get the car. So i paid 2 times for insurance, plus they reserved my money in case there was any damage. After a week of holidays Opundo took money from my account without my permission. I had to call my Bank block my card! 😠😠😠
Worst check-in experience I have ever had. App failed to send me boardingcards for both of my flights, for one flight I recieved wrong boardingcard!! Had to call two different airlines for two short flights. Always book directly with the airline if you want to save yourself trouble.
So far so good, l only had a problem getting a boarding pass from BA but l could do it at the airport after doing my check-in online. So no big deal, plenty of cheap flights, itineraries and good tips, very useful over-all.
Scam. I payed the ticket, nothing camed. Than after two hours the "support" tells - we can't process your booking. Refund in 10 days! I found out in the airport and was forced to buy it directly from the wizz 2 hours before the flight! They even told me that - try to book at the airport. Why use you in first place! Free loan for their company. And with this type of scammers will fight for my money back. Taking money and provide no tickets.
Just found out my "flight ticket" was cancelled (if it was even booked at all) because I was trying to access the app to check any real information about my flight, because the only information I had gotten when I booked my ticket was some OPODO reservation number and with this information I couldn't go further and check my flight. The company did not even send me any information about this calling-off. So, I had to go in a rush booking another flight with another company.
Totally useless. It's been 1 and half year already that I'm waiting for my refund for a canceled flight due to wrong itinerary trip and still there is no answer from them . They are easy to get the money but when it comes to solutions they disappear
Forced to download the app. They cancelled my flight, they lied to me about the cancellation and never rebooked the flight. 1 year later I am still waiting to receive my refund and I have to download the app to be able to see the status of my application. This company is a scam.
The prime membership charges your card after the free trial period, I have cancelled the renew but says it will expire on the 14/5/2023, not only that but one day after turning of the renew i was charged another £59.99, it is currently pending in my bank account but if it where to come out I will be contacting customer service directly, I will not use this app again.
Do not fall for trial prime scam They will charge you annual fees every year without your consent and will not inform you about the charge. Luckily I saw this charge on my credit card bill. You'll be lucky if you are audible to customer care service. If you go on their all to chat they will keep you waiting for more than 60mins. I still haven't got the refund for my cancellation. Now I'm scared as they still have my credit card info and probably won't stop charging me in future.
Terrible app/ website / company/ service. We booked a round trip ticket through them, they promptly confirmed the return but it took them 4 days to tell us the departure ticket was 'refused'. We called to cancel because we obviously can't use the return ticket if we can't get there in the first place and they wouldn't do it!!! Unbelievable. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
