The OPOS Story
Traditional recipes do not work for many of us struggling to cope with a fast paced life. We lack the skill, time & support to make them work. Those living abroad face special problems, with even a tadka becoming impossible!
OPOS was designed to address these problems. It is being constantly shaped by the feedback of thousands of volunteers from over 20 countries across the world. An OPOS recipe is frozen only after it has been validated by dozens of volunteers, who have grown up with these recipes. Some recipes have clocked over 200 validations.
It has taken 13 years, 780 blog posts, 11097 volunteers, hundreds of kgs of provisions, 1208 files, 10411 posts, 5601 photos, 181 videos, thousands of arguments, 4 restaurants, 16 chefs, 14 events & 22 corporate demos before the first set of OPOS recipes were created !

Standard OPOS equipment:
A 2 liter stainless steel pressure cooker,
a Stick blender,
Measuring cups & spoons,
Knife, Peeler & Grater,
small weighing scale,
Induction stove (Can use gas/ electric stove after standardising) ... and nothing more!
Important !
Follow the recipe exactly.
Use standard equipment.
Do not scale up or down, atleast the first time.
Understand the core OPOS techniques.
Never force open a cooker.

No water cooking: Cooking with food's own juices.

Flash cooking: No water pressure cooking at high heat for a short time.

FAQ:
I don't have a 2liter stainless steel cooker/ induction stove!
Buy them - else you need to figure out the right timings.
My cooker does not whistle!
Get it checked. Most Indian cookers whistle.
How can I scale up the recipes?
Most recipes serve 2. When you scale up, cooking time varies, but whistles remain the same.
How to check my cooker?
Add 1/4C water to your 2L cooker. On high heat, first whistle comes in around 1-2 minutes. On medium heat, it takes around 3-4 minutes.
Why no tadka?
It is optional in OPOS.
Common complaints:
Food is overcooked/ undercooked!
Reduce/ increase cooking time.
Food is burnt!
Reduce cooking time/ add more water. Use standard equipment. Do not cook beyond 5 minutes for no water recipes.
Food has a raw smell!
Use roasted spices/ OPOS ginger garlic/ onion pastes.
Recipes do not work for me !
Check your cooker. Cook at 600W/ 900W settings as per the recipe. If using gas/ electric stoves, check timings by heating 1/4C of water in your 2l cooker.
Remember:
1. Pressure cooking is always with whistle on, right from the beginning.
2. Do not use an inner vessel/ add water, unless the recipe calls for it.
3. Preheat electric stove tops before cooking and remove cooker after cooking.
4. Safety first! Understand a recipe before attempting it !

The app expects compulsory update on a daily basis. Today is the third day in updating it. You can't force the user to update so frequently for minor bug releases! Edited: The recent update seems to be much stable. I would still like the videos to load faster but search and recipes are loading much faster.
Access completely blocked out after a few days. Atleast, change the message where it says 'upgrade to access live videos' in the blocking prompt. That way, users would know a plan is must to access anything in the app and not just live videos.
Customer support is pathetic. They take way too much time to reply to the mails. And App should be properly developed. Doesnt have the account information and expiry date or anything. For the amount we pay for premium, you can give us more properly developed app
this app is a game changer for me!! It has made a confident cook. My food can now compete with the best of restaurants. The app has given me tools and recipes to explore cuisines which are new to me.
Unable to login or sign up. I am unable to log into OPOS Chef app on my Oneplus 5 phone When I try to sign up, it says "Email already registered" When I try to sign in, it says "Invalid credentials" and when I click on "forgot password" and provide the details it says "No User Found".
videos once in fullscreen will never minimise at end and have tokill my app everytine,. Subscription link also fails go activate.. app is slow while u scroll.
Oops is simply awesome .I am saving on fuel ,eating delicious and healthy food .I can also make the most difficult recipes in a giffy. It is so simple that any body who has no clue about cooking can cook up a delicious meal
Having issues with app. Simple Search results not loading. Tried "beans", "rasam" etc. I have purchased a premium version.
The App refuses to install. Gets stuck at 32 percent download. I have tried multiple times on different phones but no luck
OPOS is scientific method of cooking. I love it so much. Made me to learn new techniques. All opostars are very helpful. I rever RK sir and daily bless him so much for his long life.
Fantastic. Can read recipe and measure ingredients before cooking. Can also watch the videos to watch the steps.

Opos is a way of cooking and learning it the right way is the basics. Once learnt the basics, cooking is childs play. We love opos cooking.
Difficult to navigate and doesn't offer anything that isn't already available on other platforms like Facebook and YouTube. Don't waste your time with this app.
not able to register... its saying verification code has been sent to email but i haven't received any such mail..checked spam as well...i am huge opos fan
Is it not possible to use this app without live videos? I used to have a basic access, but has it been revoked now? Is that a glitch? Can we use it without access to live videos? Love OPOS though!!
It's very useful app. Cooking time made me feel tired but now it's a jolly time I enjoyed cooking thank you so much opos
Not able to get the subsricption through my order id of Magic Pot kit. regular mails to support team remains unanswered.

This is the first time i have downloaded the app. Unable to sign up, says mobile number already exists. I have not done before, how do i sign up?

The App propmts to buy a subscription and no way yo close that pop-up. if the user doesnt want live videos and want to continue to with archives, no way to use it. This seems to be a technical glitch and has to be corrected.
