OPT7 AURA

The lights work very well, they look great. But they continously turn themselves back on. I have tried different fuses, uninstalling/reinstalling the app, making sure everything is up to date but they keep turning themselves back on. Luckily I have a nice battery and a functioning alternator but this is a very annoying bug.

I installed the app and every time I try to connect, the app crashes. I messaged opt7 about it and they had me do some things and it still didn't work. I get an email from them saying that the problem was resolved when it wasn't. I finally figured it out. Using android, have to go to your Google settings and turn on location. Even if location is turned on, on the phone, it won't work. Has to be through Google also. Works great now!!!Giving a 3 star for the aggrivation and need better tech support

same thing as other user. I use spotify from my phone and it interferes and the lights will do whatever they want and it's not cool. great concept but at the moment doesnt seem to work with other bluetooth apps running or something. customer support is top on my list and they helped me out greatly! stick with the remote and keychain for awhile and maybe things will get ironed out. never had any problems with them.

Great app with great potential. Please pay someone to update the app, completey redesign if necessary, it will be profitable. The bass sensitive soundsync is amazing. It would be nice to be able to change brightness of the sound sync for night use. Also I could not get door assist to work after plugging into fuse box, I'm sure it's something I have missed, but worth noting. Many other small bugs can make the user experience frustrating but so far nothing that restarting the app can't solve.

I have had nothing but issues with this app. The lights themselves are great but I can't get good control of them with this app. Half the time they connect and half the time they don't. Almost everytime I use the app one or both will disconnect and freezes the app. I can't shut the lights off. I've been messing with it for 3 hours now and had to disconnect power completely to make sure my car will start in the morning.

Very simple, clean and easy to use. I'd like to seen an update sometime soon. What ever configuration you apply to your light kit(s) will not be saved. When you re-open the app, evrything resets to app default AND gets applied but if you never reopen the app, your settings remain even when you turn off your vehicle and back on. Its only when you close the app and re-open it.

I give this app 1 star because it will work on my Samsung tablet. It rarely ever worked with my Samsung phone. OPT7 even sent me a new controller and it still would not work properly. OPT7 really needs to go back to the drawing board with this app. I went back to the original controller. I will continue to use the original controller until maybe one day they will get their shot together and make this app work right. Until then I suggest to stay away from their bluetooth controller box..

Overall it's a nice app. The changes you make happen instantaneously which is great(using on S10+). The app lacks some features though. Fading from color to color seems like an option every other LED has but this doesn't. Setting a pair or group of colors to cycle through would be a plus Also the ability to have presets would be helpful. I should also mention the speed range of the pulse and cycle features are very limited.

App works sometimes. Controlling several kits at once is nice but the seem to have delays between them so when you change colors they don't change at the same time.. Pulse, works them on and off at the same time but different colors.. And if I leave them all on white when driving they will just change randomly to a different color with nothing going on.. Haven't tried using them with my music playing from the phone but I'm afraid that that will cause more issues... Opt7 needs to work on app

Needs basic fixes The lights don't want to accept they are off. Every time I turn the lights off with the app they turn back on within 30 seconds. If I set the brightness to 0 then they finally stay off but still flash briefly every 30 seconds. The app also skips my favorite option of having the colors fade into one another. The closest thing is only having them flash to the next color not fade into it. I love the lights and the rest of their products but this app ruins this light kit for me

The lights are fantastic. The app is the worst. The light randomly turn on and off. I wish they would have options for me to exclude certain lights like blue and red from the rotation. The color wheel sucks. And please add some sort of custom saved colors or patterns

4 stars only bc this app does not seem to work. I purchased two kits of the Opt7 Aura Pro specifically for the reason of them saying you can control the lights via blutooth through your phone app. I got everything connected, all the lights mounted where I want them, they look sick except I can't connect the device. You open the app it recognizes the Opt7 Pro device and then the app instantly closes. I can turn the lights on and off via the switch but I can't change colors or do anything else.

Let me clarify I have a Galaxy s20 Everything works just fine no issues definitely has a dumb long intro graphic that can be cleaned out or at least access to a hot bar with pre sets instantly! I've definitely needed instant access to colors and being very frustrated with how many steps it takes to get into the main part of the app

Sort of works. Got the headlight add on in February 2021 for my birthday. The app picks up the kit half the time even though the Bluetooth is plugged into an always on fuse as is noted needed in the instructions. Worked a week ago- today nothing. Oh and why do I have to turn my location on when I am sitting in the car? Makes no sense to make that mandatory.

Lights are functional and look awesome... But the APP... Is horrible! Needs to be updated to allow color selection with color wheel. Also it crashes every time you connect to it and you have to reconnect at least twice. I wish I could order the remote... Should have gotten that to begin with

I Definitely love the lights and app vary nice easy to use interface, easy bluetooth connection. The only complaint I have right now is you can't select multiple colors in flash or fade for example, orange and white flash for Halloween theme, or red and green for Christmas theme. But over all great app and company!

App works terribly bad, random disconnects, less options and control than the IR remote on their normal light kit. Speed slider doesn't work, was sent a replacement box and had same issues. Then told by customer rep that I should seek professional help for the issue. Would put review on website, but they deleted it when I posted it originally.

Sound sync is terrible nothing like the original control box. Lights are very dim and flash in different light/pastel colors. Original control box was more accurate to responding to music beats and they would flash brightly in one color when in soundsync. plus, you were able to select the color you wanted.

App disconnects from bluetooth constantly, using a galaxy note 10+ on android 10... have to shut it down and reconnect it to simply change colors then repeat after 20 seconds bc it disconnected again. Also there should be a favorite option to set fav colors for quick color settings.. I ended up hooking mine to a on off switch bc app was really unreliable for tuning on and off... would randomly turn themselves back on. FIX THE APP PLEASE

Lights turn on after being turned off and if I change screens from this app to another app I have to reconnect via Bluetooth otherwise I can't make any changes to the lights (color) or how they glow (pulse, solid, strobe, etc.) The lights themselves are great tho and super easy to install.

This app requires permission to harveat your geolocation data at all times even when not using the app. It also demands permission to access your personal files and image gallery. Why does a Bluetooth control app need access to your gps and camera gallery? The only logical reason is for harvesting your personal information and selling it to big data.

2 stars, why? Well there is some advantages to the Bluetooth box and app, like the music sensitivity settings and it connects quickly HOWEVER there's no option to use the sound option with just 1 selected color like there is on the original, no preset options, the color scrolling isn't very precise, this app badly needs an update, the product is amazing, the app sucks...really bad... Needs more options

App WORKS..but seems to disconnect and have to reconnect by closing app and restarting it. Ex: Connect through the app, choose feature(color, strobe, solid effect etc), phone goes to sleep or get on another app. when going back to the app to change or turn off doesn't respond. Have to close app completely then reconnect.

Super buggy. Lights will randomly change to settings different than what you set them to. Almost got me arrested because it randomly switched to red while I was on the road. It's not that hard of a task to make a decent app to control freakin' lights. Y'all at Opt7 need to get your stuff together!

The lights are cool, but the app needs serious work. When I turn the lights off, I need to turn off Bluetooth or the lights will turn themselves back on when I close the app. No matter how many times I hit the off button, they keep turning back on. Update your app...

The lights are very nice, have great intensity and are colorful BUT the app needs an intense update. The pulse feature doesn't change color, the music feature is too uncontrollable needs some way to equalize it better and the app doesn't contain a "rainbow" feature to go thru all the colors without turning off or pulsing.

Having lights inside your car does not equal the frustration that this product causes. I was sent 2 units and neither of them worked as described. I installed and uninstalled the app several times and also installed and uninstalled the equipment several times and none of what I did would would allow me to control the lights as described. The LED lights just glowed red permanently and I could not control any of the settings inside the app. Asking the company for full refund.

Is cool while is connected but if you use your phone in your car to listen to music through Bluetooth it will conflict with OPT7 app and disconnect you from the lights and have no control of it. I rather have the controller for it better than bluetooth for that reason. is annoying having to reconnect all the time. if there is a cop and you trying to turn it off forget it you will get a ticket because of the disconnection problems with the bluetooth for that reason 3 stars.

Tip to kinda solve the the light turning back on after you shut them off and close the app. Yup you shut them off close the app and a minute later they are back on and you have to open the app and play the shut off game till you get passed and unplug it I found a somewhat fix I just put the brightness to 0 to solve the problem till I purchase a different led kit since it seems like they have no intention to update or offer a remote to bypass the app. Other then that the lights are awesome.

Galaxy fold issue- worked great on my previous phone outside of not saving my color choice and having to reset every time. App wont connect to control box. Tried unplugging, re-download app, and resetting Bluetooth. If I plug in power, lights come on in blue, control box blinking blinking blue light, but does not show on connect screen or Bluetooth available devices.
