Now you can use select Android smartphones as an extra TV for your home. Just connect to the app through your Optimum home network to view live TV on your right on your phone. You can also watch On Demand programs, or even use your device as a remote control to search and record TV shows to your DVR or Multi-Room DVR.

It's 2019 and this app is still sorely lacking in a few areas. Firstly, the app does not take advantage of the full screen real estate of new phones and devices with larger displays leaving enormous black bezels on the sides of the image. The interface itself is clunky and archaic. Pure laziness on the developer's part. Furthermore, the app does not support using external displays unlike most other TV apps. TV on the go is great in concept. It's just a shame to be limited to a subpar experience.

This app used to work beautifully on my Samsung tablet, but not so as of late. All I get is a black screen and a buffering circle. I tried all the obvious fixes, but to no avail. It does work, however, on my Samsung S7, so it probably isn't a Samsung problem. Optimum, take heed! There are many other reviews which mirror my frustration and annoyance!

Worst App ever. Couldn't give it less than 1 star. Constantly freezes, even when I'm 4' from wifi router. Every time I start the iPad, I have to re-log in to Optimum app. Every. Damn. Time. My bill keeps going up, but I get less and less service. The app advertises that you can control the DVR remotely, LIES. It constantly says, "not available at this time." Can't watch a show for more than 2 minutes before if freezes for 30 seconds, rinse and repeat.

It's always been buggy and generally not good, and it's lame that it can't be used on a desktop computer on the home network, but a laptop is ok...I get why, but that's stupid. The bigger issue is now whatever updating happened, it no longer works at all on my phone. So, for an app that never worked great and has huge limitations, and now doesn't work at all....1 star. Netflix is just far more convenient, and so are other options. Why bother with cable if they don't even try to compete..

I've had this app installed on my Android phone(s) for years. Since about February 1, 2020, the live stream of any station through the app doesn't work. The features of seeing the Guide, Search, what's On Demand, and Remote control work. The main feature of streaming TV isn't working. I've cleared the Data and Cache, uninstalled and reinstalled the app.

Please update this app already! Please make it more compatible to Android Pie Please fix the font issue. The options menu and after tapping a channel from the guide results in fonts which are too small to read. Please add a spot on the main menu to access your favorites and the ability to tap the channel and watch it. Please let us watch TV to Go within the optimum app. Why should I have to install so many apps to watch the TV to Go channels? All TV to Go is a list of shortcuts that when you click on one it opens an app outside of the Optimum app. If that's the case, I can install the TV apps and put them in a folder and access them without even running the Optimum app. On Demand is limited. HBO for instance has very limited choices. The HBO GO app has way more to watch than On Demand HBO. There's lots of room for improvement. I have only mentioned a few but you can see by other peoples reviews what needs to be fixed.

Used this app on my Samsung Galaxy Tab E for 5 years. Now suddenly it will not start shows once I select one. I just get the black screen with the spinning circle, and it locks up. Called customer service and no help whatsoever. This app needs to be updated to be compatible with ALL devices. I am paying for a service that I am not receiving. Not happy at all.

This app is idiotic at best. First, it only works if you are connected to an Optimum network. The advertising suggests that the user can watch television anywhere. Obviously, this is not true. Second since early November, the app does not allow this user to access live TV at all. The only thing I see is a black screen. One would think that if Optimum truly cared about its customers, then they would not only attempt to fix the problem quickly, but send a message to the affected customers alerting them to the issue. Cleary Optimum could care less about the welfare of their customers. This is why I have decided to drop Optimum and stream my entertainment.

App used to work fine. Then stopped. Don't use it often, but it was nice to have. Cannot stream, just gets blank screen with spinning icon. Don't use Facebook or Twitter which seems like the only support options, which doesn't seem like good customer service. Keep hearing there's an update coming, but that has been months with nothing. Loving the developer response of "install the app". Quite clear from the review that it's installed. Makes you believe the responses are from boys.

Great app when it works but unfortunately it's always malfunctioning. Suddenly it won't play any programs at all for weeks and if you contact support, no one can fix it. When it does work, if I play something on demand then pause, when I try to continue watching I receive a message saying it won't play because "someone else in the house" is playing it at the same time, which is not true. No one in the house is using the TV at all. Also text suddenly turns miniscule /illegible.

I have had the app for quite some time and when it works it is great, get all channels local and cable. Until recently (a week ago ) it stopped working. Called cable several times and after getting thru the useless recorded walk thru and finally talking to a real person their answer was they know about the problem and are working on it. Seems to me they can't be working on to hard being a WEEK later it still not working. If I can find another app I would switch in a heart beat.

This app was sooo much better when it showed recently watched channels on the main screen upon opening the app. It makes no sense to show "most popular" channels (as opposed to showing the channels that *I* have recently watched) on the home screen... I could not care less about the channels other people watch. It is incredibly annoying having to go to the guide & scroll through hundreds of channels just to go back to the show/channel I had been watching.

I have had a continuous bug that makes the font so incredibly small it can't be read. I did submit an email or something I found in the app but did not hear back. Doesn't seem to be updated or maintained and have been having issues getting it to work along with all other apps that are associated with. These would be apps like USA and Sy-FY, they don't work when the optimum app doesn't work of optimum is your service provider.

Don't even try to use this app if you do not have an iPhone. It is completely illegible on an Android. My phone must be too old it's a Galaxy S9... I switched from DirecTV to the optimum, but if I cannot bring my shows on the road I want nothing to do with this.. this app is terrible. it is a bunch of links to all of the different Networks separate applications. So you need gobs of storage near phone to keep all of these different applications for every different Channel you want..

Totally unacceptable. New phone running latest version of Android. I tried using Optimum app, but none of the buttons work. So, I try deleting the app and reinstalling it. Now I get the message that the Optimum app was written for an older version of Android, so please update. There isn't one. I thought Optimum got bought by Altice, so I tried their app. Altice refers me back to Optimum. So, none of the apps work. Guess they're telling us to cut the cable.

Glitchy hard to use interface, difficulty connecting to a network my phone has no problem connecting to and it appears to have been abandoned by the developer seeing as how it hasn't been updated in THREE YEARS. I pay more for my cable and internet than Comcast customers in the next town over and I get less than half the "bells and whistles "

I have been having problem with using it for the past few months or so on my Samsung Tablet. I keep getting the spinning wheel. For many years, there were no issues with it working until as of late. I have uninstalled and still not fixed. A shame since this is one of the reasons I chose to keep Optimum. Oddly i have no issues with the app on my Ipad.

2017! Seriously? A major cable/ISP in southwest Connecticut and the Northeast and you haven't updated the app in 3 years. I get it if it ain't broke don't fix it but this app is the definition of broken. It seem like they have abandoned the app as it has more 1 star reviews then anything else and they still choice not to do anything about it. Oh yea you have to have a optimum modem (not your own) to stream on your phone. When every other major provider doesn't impose these restrictions. Garbage!

For the past few days the Optimum App crashes everytime I launch it on a Samsung Galaxy Tab. Uninstalled, reinstalled numerous times. Also performed device reset that did not correct the issue. I can stream live video over the Optimum App on my iPhone and iPad eliminating Optimum, the cable modem, the router and WiFi as potential problems. Called Optimum support and they have raised this issue to a level 2.

Too old and unupdated to work even on a 2-year-old phone. I upgraded my 3-year-old LG G7 to a 2-year-old LG G8 and the app won't even open. It just gives an error message that it was designed for an older operating system and may not work correctly. This is on par with the quality of service I expect with anything related to Optimum cable company.

on Demand function is as useful as their customer service. as soon as you pause and/or try to resume playback at a later time, I receive a playback error. if not for my visiting, Baby Boomer relatives inability to figure out our PS Vue or FuboTV streaming services interface, I'd be done with Optimum altogether. unless Altice/Optimum pivots and begins catering to modern applications, they are doomed to fail!

Unfortunately everytime i go back to optimum it gets worse. It starts out good and then the internet gets slower and slower and then mysteriously all i get is calls, mailings and emails about upgrading my internet speed. So i call optimum to ask for help with the internet speed and they want to charge me for a service call "if they dont find any issues" . Im truly thinking of unplugging completely or trying Fios.

I uninstalled then reinstalled. 👌 Optimum, the app used to work only a few days ago. Now, You've selected the channel, watch on this phone option, it just goes to black screen. No error Msg except get a message that app was designed for an older phone etc. and might not function. You aught to offer trouble shooting info. 😤 JUST A BLACK ! Screen is very frustrating. I Uninstalled the app/Reinstalled. Works fine now. 2 stars because of hassle.

All of a sudden, after years, this app stopped working on my Samsung Tablet. I"ve been told for weeks now "the engineers are working on it". I'm just waiting for optimum to come back and let us know there will now be an extra fee!!!!!!!! You know what does work on my Samsung tablet??? Netflix and Amazon video!!!! I have yet to see an overnight egregious price increase from them and their apps work!!!

Crashes often. Hard to start. Too many steps. Favorite or visited channels not functioning, complicated options in search, low light of screen images, etc. Many years ago, optimum had a great app. This one is a real downgrade. My guess is that most investment went into Altice 1 and this app and its users suffer from sheet neglect. I am very disapointed.

I was a fan of this app in the past. But too many times the screen froze and restarted my phone. Or the sound and video didn't sync up, not to mention the illegible small font!!! Optimum customers deserve better than this. Highly disappointed that you have not updated this app properly and it's only gotten worse!!!
