Using on a Samsung Galaxy S20+. Your app only occasionally works and when it does, it only allows for the opener to open and not close. Kind of useless. I regret purchasing this garage door opener. The ability to operate the garage door with my phone was the key reason I purchased this brand.
This app is buggy on Android but works fine in iOS. In android, app cannot run silently in the background and must be force closed each time.
App force closes all the time and if it does open you get the spinning wheel of death. If you are extra lucky you can then operate your garage door after waiting 5+ minutes.
Hi...I got this installed leas than 6 months ago. Now the app doesn't show the garage doors instead it's a blank screen. Can I get some help?
Hoping to move my rating up higher because I was excited about the Skylink garage door opener and alas the app just spins and never seems to work
This is a terrible app. It takes forever to log in. Then makes you log in a second time even though it remembers your password then hangs up and doesn't connect to the garage door opener. Notifications work fine so I know it is communicating. Useless. I give credit a support worker has since worked very hard to get it working for me. I changed my view of customer support. It still doesn't work but they really tried. Thank you.
Well..., on top of the pitiful technical support at Skylink (for a garage door opener), I finally got the opener installed and working. The problem here, is that the WiFi connection (paid for) cannot be established at all. I have tried multiple times to get the connection established with Quick Connect and Advanced methods and just in case some smart guy attempts to respond with some dumbass answer, I'm well versed on most technology. The bottom line is that the App and the module do not play well together and are a completely useless feature. The App simply shows a spinning circle with no feedback of activity or progress and just goes to a fail status. If I were to assume that after fifty more tires that I get a connection established to any of my half dozen access points, that the reliability could in no way be considered stable enough where I would want to rely on this interface for anything doing control. The bottom line is that the product and the software are garbage and should not be allowed to be sold - where one star is still too high.
very basic, slow and needs a lots of improvements. Here are some examples: 1. My sensor was not working. I was able to open the door but not closing it. 2. No manual, help or "how to do" in the app. Let say how to reset the hub or sensor... 3. I was waiting to have some basic options like a timer to show how long the door is open or an auto closing option.
Works well 95% of the time. Sometimes when I open or close the door it shows opening or closing for a long period of time even though the door is fully closed or opened. Once I go back a screen seems to reset it and it shows the correct door status. Mentions you can connect to Alexa or Google however haven't been able to regardless of all the troubleshooting articles I've read. Might be a Canadian limitation.
It was straight forward and simple to register and connect this to my garage door opener. The app is basic but works exactly as I need it to, and it linked right away to Google Assistant and has worked perfectly for a month so far. Didn't give it 5 stars as the app is very basic (open, close, turn light on, off) - it'd be nice to be able to schedule some actions or control more functions on the opener (like AWAY, Autoclose, etc).
App is terrible. Only thing it does is open and close the door and update the firmware. Basic setup didn't work, no ability to schedule closing. Even worse, the app is constantly running, leaving an "orbit is running" tray notification for me to look at all the time. Why? It doesn't even have a working icon!
Had a problem with the wifi module on the garage motor unit. Skylink replaced quickly. The original module would stop connecting often then it stopped working completely. The new unit connects and works for a few days, then needs to be set up again to work. Too much trouble. Just think of the door opener as just that, because the online portion doesn't work.
The Orbit home app works good with my two old yet working phones: Iphone 5 and Android 9 phone. The best thing that i like is the Garage door opener has built in wifi connection and the app is free to download. It is important to download the firmware using a 2.5 gigahertz bandwidth wifi Once updated - will work as intended. A lot of reviews here are mostly negative and i think they should seek some assistance from Skylink group - as i did before with my problematic motorhead. It has been 6 months now and several occasions of minus 20's temperatures and still working fine. I have 6 more months left in my warranty and i can say that i made the right choice. App is plain and simple yet effective when it comes to it's purpose: shows the notifications when the garage door is opened/closed and can be opened remotely - love it! .
Needed to use IOS because Android only provided a numeric keyboard for ID# entry. Also, the light indicator just stays highlighted as its on. You can press the left light button but there is no real indicator of on or off. PS: Customer service did say to add Microsoft keyboard app so I could enter data but I have no room for more apps. Tha app also lacks any kind of instruction such as the light indicators - no info on what is what?
Absolute garbage. The app and the Nova garage door opener I was trying to install took several hours to get the magical combination of whatever planetary alignment necessary to hook up the WiFi. Once I was able to do that, realized I can't hook up the Nova/app to Google Home for whatever reason. Instructions claim it's easy as using your Orbit account at the SkylinkNet login screen but it doesn't work. Lastly, app takes about 30 to 45 seconds to process a command. Slow despite full bars of WiFi
Keeps crashing when I try to create account. Can't even create to get setup
App crashes when I try to select my garage door. It's flat out broken. This is the worst designed piece of software I have encountered in years. If you want the barest function of notifications the door is open, this piece of garbage needs to be running with a banner on your phone 24/7. I've seen better UI on newgrounds games from the early 2000s. Seriously, you guys make smart home products? This is disgusting.
Firmware upgrade has never worked. App can't even successfully control my garage door anymore (I've removed and reinstalled it with no improvement), and when I open it, it just pops up an undismissable notification saying it's running which only goes away when I force close the app.
App takes forever to connect, not very practical way to open ur garage...app is stupid and not well designed... For example if allows you to enable finger print I'd even if you don't have that feature on your phone...then you can't login at all... Don't waste your time or money paying extra for wifi feature in skylink garage door openers cuz it won't work and isn't useable
I purchase my garage opener because it came with the wireless system but this app sucks. Didnt allow me to install it at first and then when it finally did. It never works. It never opens my garage or closes it. And when ever i open the garage with my remote, i look in the app and it shows that the garage got stuck half way when it did. Doesnt work properly i wish i had never purchase this garage opener. This app ruins it for them. They should do something to fix this app.
This app is terrible I'm using a samsung s10 and the app takes forever to load. I have had my garage doors for a little over 2 weeks and they still dont connect over wifi. I've added three signal boosters for the wifi and 1 is in the garage and still nothing. This app needs tons of improvement and so does the atoms unit I'll definitely be returning my door openers and will be buying Chamberlain
Unable to add my device. It is visible on network, but doesn't show on app! Called tech support and they were USELESS. Tried on iPhone and Android. Neither worked. Support said... "yeah, were having problems. Try delete and reinstall." Wow. Such great help. (Sarcasm, if you need to know.)
It just works sone times as the garage door disconnects every 2 days or so from wifi and it gets only fixed after I unplug and plug again the garage opener. Also, the garage open notification happens only some times and garage closed seems to work always. Pretty bad application or wifi functionality on the garage opener. I wish i had done more research on it before buying. Regret buying this atoms garage opener
The App does not allow me to change the time zone. So the log times are incorrect. I've tried everything to change it but without any luck. Customer support said to clear the cache in the app or reinstall the app. Neither worked.
The app is what it is... an app to open and close your garage door. It does what it is intended for it to do, no frills and thrills. What is frustrating is the time it takes to connect to your garage door. I have strong signal and fast wifi so why does it take so long to connect?
Great app! Simple UI buy very easy to navigate and does what exactly what is advertised. I can now monitor and control my garage door opener at work. I don't use the built in camera feature but it's nice to have should I want to use it in the future.
App won't work with battery optimization in Android 10, although not an app problem the wifi usb device will not auto reconnect/reset after power failure. This app overall needs a lot of behind the scenes work, it won't operate in the background properly either.
The app works well. I like the facility to control my garage door from my phone. I will admit, I expected the system to interface with Google but it does not. In my opinion, that would make this system perfect.
For some reason it will not let you open the app through Wi-Fi and I can run seven other devices but even when I'm only trying to run this one device trying to opening the app it will not allow me to open it not very happy with it so far been trying to fix it for 3 days will not sync up to my wi-fi garage door
No longer working correctly. Last update broke log in function. Indicator never stops spinning and doesn't display my garage door anymore so I can open or close remotely. Notifications of garage open and close still work. And IOS app still works. Please fix it.
