Received notification via email from the airline that my flight was cancelled, the Orbitz app conviently didn't let me log in or chat with anyone and the few phone numbers I could find online weren't working either. After 4 hours I of trying the app let me log in (using the same credentials). I've been on hold for over 7 hours and they refuse to put me on another flight because they're saying there are no more available flights dispite this app and Orbitz website showing several available.
It's been several months that I'm unable to login through the app. Oy through desktop. That doesn't h2lp especially when traveling or trying to utilize thw rewards as there is no option on the desktop. Customer Service was useless!!!!
There are plenty of hotels who will tell you upon arrival that you have not paid, even though your card has already been billed by Orbitz. At least they make sure they get their cut, regardless of whether you are sleeping in your car in a hotel parking lot because your reservation never came through and the only hotel im town is booked full.
Flight format on my Samsung S9, Android version 10, is very goofy. The majority if the text is only 1 letter wide, but extends all the way down left edge of screen, making it impossible to read
You get better prices when you do the leg work yourself. I understand the convenience of bundling everything together but honestly I saved 900+ dollars for airfare, hotel and rental car by calling the companies individually and booking them myself. Almost $1000 isn't worth it.
The worst experience EVER!!!!! I bought a round trip flight for WrestleMania then Covid came and cancelled my event. I've tried to get a refund (they said no), or a credit (they said yes) and it's been nothing but headaches. I got a credit & tried to apply it to a new flight and it hasn't let me. I've been trying to contact customer service ever since and been given the run around by Orbitz and American Airlines. Now my credit expires 3/31 and I'm out 300 bucks!!! I will never use Orbitz
I booked a hotel in St. Louis for 2 nights and received confirmation emails and my card was charged. I get to the hotel tonight and no record of any reservation. Beware, I had to frantically try to chat with support and all they gave me was we will call the hotel to confirm no cancelation penalty. Ummm, orbitz didn't even book it with the hotel,so how does that work? Make sure to call the hotel ahead of time before you arrive! I had to pay walk in rate at $50 more per night. Never again!
They do not give you all the required information needed for your trip. Do not purchase their insurance because as soon as it is time to use it the company that you go through doesn't want to pay the claim. Just another way to get money out of customers. Orbitz has been very misleading in the past 2 years. I know they lost money during the Pandemic but don't do your loyal customers bad to make a profit off of them. All these major companies are deadbeats lately.
App is good, but can be better: The app tends to just default to the airport in the main city even if it's 2 hrs away rather than to the nearest airport w/c can be 20 mins away [I am talking about the airport of the state where you intend to go to (eg. Springfield MA). It defaults to Boston MA instead of Hartford CT w/c is 25 mins away from it.] It means you have to do a separate booking rather than getting it all at once.
Does not offer a filter for smoking preference room .Never using again . I USED this when I went to Chicago, and Boston for previous trips,won't again ,and wont offer support to any app that discriminates the smoker.
I have been using this app for over a decade with no problems. My last two experiences have caused me to look for alternate options outside orbitz/expedia...
I can't login. Get sign in failed everytime. I can login to the web no problem. So definitely an app issue.
Worst ever! They promised 10% discount on first booking but never gave a spot to enter code. Then, when I contacted help they wouldn't credit me back for the 10%! Total scam, don't use Orbitz!!!
Very buggy and does not load well which is not ideal for an app you need while traveling. Main issue is being unable to login via one of the bugs, which then just makes me use other services.
I don't travel much but in a 18 wheeler I have used Orbitz 2 times and every time was great will use every time I do travel thank for the great service
Can not sign in at all. I can access account on a computer with no problem but am unable to enter user name and password in the app to check on existing reservations
Terrible customer service. I have called them six times about the same issue and they say each time, they will call me back in 72 hours, and they never get back.
Crooked. I booked a hotel room within my home province and it charged me in US Dollars! I can't find a way to change this either, even after confirming my Canadian Home Address! Intentionally deceptive, and completely unacceptable!
Ended up losing an airline credit because of their horible customer service. I spent hours on hold just to be transfered to a department that probably doesn't exist cause nobody was responding. The app support is a joke.
App won't let you log in. Also, Orbitz has been notorious for fighting refundable things. Saying they can't but they got refunded by airline or hotel and holding your money
My mom loves orbitz so I've always used this to book her flights. During the pandemic she canceled a Jetblue flight. This started out fine. Orbitz reminded us our credit was expiring every so often and recently I tried to use it. But no matter how hard I tried I couldn't. Turns out it expired 4 months ago and orbitz had given us the wrong date. I've called them 4 times and every time it's either a bot or someone who says they can't help. Never using them again.
DONT USE ORBITZ! Booked a flight for last year, had to cancel for personal reasons. I had the travel insurance so they said i had until this year to use my credit. I call to book my new flight and they all of a sudden say they refunded me the money back in September of 2021. I have been calling them non stop for 2 weeks now ! And they keep giving the run around! My trip was almost 1k dollars so best believe i will keep bugging the F out of them until I get my money .
Many of the hotel choices deeply hide additional fees that are hard to find by a normal person which is against the law of upfront all fees listed. These fees make it where it actually cost more to use Orbitz to book a room than to contact the hotel. As for the flights it's outstanding.
Price on Thrifty rental car was not honored at pickup. I had a choice of paying $80 more or walking. Could not contact Orbitz and Thrifty Customer Service said it was a 3rd party issue, so they wouldn't help. All rentals were sold out so I had no choice. Pretty disgusting situation.
Always check the in-house cancelation policies. Just because you buy the "protection plan" doesn't mean you can actually cancel and get easily do that. You might have to spend 3 hrs on the phone with 4 different companies all to get your money back in a form of check. In 7 to 10 business days of course. Won't be using again.
When it asks me to sign in it only takes the first letter then the key board disappeared and there is no way to sign in!
Very easy experience for this Great Grandma. A friend of mine and I really enjoyed booking our flight.
Very sneaky and unethical how you can't really speak to a real person to help. I tried booking a flight for me and family months in advance and after spending all that time and filling out payment, app would say that flight wasn't available anymore. Next day, I tried again in morning and now the message was that booking couldn't be completed and to try again. Went to my card statement and several pending transactions were made but booking was never possible. Went to Priceline and no problem.
