Great idea but not able to use as a novice. 1) impossible to shoot a course (direction of travel will not move, just the magnetic north) 2) doing long distances is impossible to accomplish because of this. Having the delineation is nice but didn't verify it for my area. If the line of travel could move and match the needle in the doghouse direction it would be fun to use.
Just one step more and will be great, very useful app. It's already useful, of course. The only and big drawback is lack of possibility for transferring coordinates from Google Maps which is app on which this app is based. Very strange or maybe I don't know how to do that Beside that, it has perfect design.
the user interface is very intuitive. so eay to use, but the app requires an internet connection to continually update/refresh the map layer/display. it would be outstanding if only the app can be deployed without a network connection , to be used in offline mode with stored maps.
Great app and well implemented concept. Unfortunately, it's totally dependent on the phone's magnetic sensors, so doesn't work if they are broken or non existent. A GPS compass option would solve this, like in the Locus Map app.
The only recommendation I have for this app is adding the names of towns/cities and landmarks, like Google Earth does, and the incline from the dev's other apps could be incorporated on this app. Otherwise, it's a great, simple to use, app.
Decent compass with s great display, however when placed down on a surface away from any electronics or magnets, the compass moves a bit on its own a few degrees back and forth so it can't be used for extreme accuracy.
I like the overall functionality, but it is much too slow at repositioning. I'm most often feet ahead of it. Google Maps is much faster at real-time updating.
I use 2 other apps along with this 1; GPS ESSENTIALS; GPS STATUS & TOOLBOX... The AT is under my belt. I've paid for all 3. Great set when used together. Yes, its redundant. Yes, I use paper maps n compass. I wouldn't suggest it if I DIDN'T trust them. " And find an REI, give $20.00 for a lifetime membership. REI has member only sales a few times a year." I saw -15° in Maine, my knowledge/their gear... I'm still upright!!!
Excellent but have flaws. When free alligning with the map the values are the same between magnetic and true north. Somehow the magnetic declination is not applied unless you measure yourself. Any way you can fix this?
Extremely useful app, great for ascertaining the direction and distance of landmarks for navigation. Lots of options for customisation. Very well designed and thought out.
near dam ln perfect...Love how easy it is to use....To make it perfect could really use other map sources such as the osm and similar and needs a night mode and osgb grid refs to make it perfect....Keep up the fantastic work...And yes I have paid to remove apps.worth it to push development...
App needs offline capabilities. App is like a clear compass setting on top of a map, cool but not useful if no cell service. Add this capability and you would have a 5 Star 🌟 app
great compass app. lots of configuration available. does contain ads but they're not overbearing. they appear at the bottom of the screen very small.
very intresting, center your marker and draw a straight line to target. distance is showed as well as direction. can walk or ride anywhere with this. and always get your barings.
Just downloaded and seems very good. Still trying to work out all its functions, and whether or not it meets all my expectations. If it does, then I'll certainly be buying the ad free version and will then update my review to 5 stars. But so far, so good.
I love this app! It's the first app I use when I need a quick insight of the direction and airial distance to a major geographical mark. It's also great for figuring out what you're looking at in the distance.
Really great compass. Thoughtful design and features making a useful addition to a manual compass when hiking etc. Brilliant. Wish you could purchase to remove ads
A great app. Easy to use in conjunction with a random number generator for camping, road trips, etc. Been searching for this app for ages.
Easy to use. Lots of options and easy to customize. Lots of map options but cannot use without internet so only 4 stars.
It does everything needed and more. The only improvement would be offline maps from other source if google doesnt allow it.
Great, I use this app before fishing. Get wind directions. Place the compass over the water and I can always have the wind behind me. I know its not rocket science, but its helped me enormously.
Unlike other apps this one has a description of what everything does. And it is easy to understand. I've always been interested in exact measurements from one place to another; this does it. I haven't left the house yet to try it out but I can't wait to get around to it. A really well-done app!
Great to use and once you get familiar with the icons great but nice touch is the clear description of the icons in the menu.
First class app to find or identify map features using Google maps. Very rapid zooms. Easy to use with both terrain and satellite mapping. I have not yet found anything as effective or simple for 'rotate the map' or 'point your phone' at something. However back country users should note it's 'online' only, and lacks the detailed mapping needed for any serious wilderness navigation.
