Onyx connects with leading Android devices via Bluetooth LE. Your voice messages are sent in real time to other Onyx users over wireless and cellular networks, anywhere you have an internet connection.
Have as many conversations with as many people as you like; use this app to create groups for different conversations while you're on the go. Optional location sharing via the in-app map means more time saved: one less “where are you?” text when you’re meeting up with others, freeing you to focus on other things.

The device keeps disconnecting from the phones even when we are talking with the app open.The delay is awful. Really cool concept and the GPS accuracy is excellent but very disappointed with the audio :(
Awesome app and great concept. It will be really helpful if we can add few features. 1) Admin of group who has access to remove members as in my group the same person has 5 entries. 2) A UI where I can have multiple groups and individual chats so that I can turn on and off chats according to neads 3) option to go offline on one chat group and then become active on the other chat group
great device and seems to be nice. customer service is fantastic. feel like then translator needs an easier way to switch languages. i had to remember spanish to switch it lol
Seems not work in Samsung note 9, even follow the instruction to allow run in background.when screen turned off, no more message received!
Super useful and straight forward to use. New in app messaging feature is sweet and Onyx device connection is really reliable now too
Experience is very satisfying. But want to know, the highest limit of member can be add in one free group? Is there any paid subscription for creating a group?

They email you text you and call you and I never used it's. I installed it and unistalled it
Said app did not work properly set off both my fire wall and antivirus and called home way too much- Uninstalled...(Not Safe)

August 2017: I was very disappointed that the first generation devices are no longer usable and all I was offered was a 50% discount for the newer hardware. I understand that as a startup such decisions have to be made to upgrade your hardware; but there is difference between not supporting older devices with updates and rending them useless. I can't see why I would pour money in when the firm can't stand behind it's products. Shame, it seemed like a great idea. April 2018: The head of customer service reached out to me personally to fix this issue. I no longer have a need for the product (or use the app), but I very much appreciated the effort to address the concerns of early backers. Good sign, and hope they succeed.
Great - device and onboarding are really clever. Battery is good
This is an excellent idea but it has some difficulties. I have a note 5 and a frequently disconnects and has the other glitchy operations. Customer service is good, this is why they receive two stars from me. I look forward to give you more stars after some of the bugs have been worked out. I am also disappointed that there is no integration with Amazon Alexa. On their website the goal was tab integration by quarter 4 2016. Their present goal is quarter one 2017. I wish they had reflected that they had not met their website. Had this been the case I would have never purchased the units until there was Amazon integration with Alexa. The good news however is that if they meet their goal this function will be up and going in the next two months. I am keeping my fingers crossed.
I love this device and service. Allows me to communicate with and know where my kids are. Have also played around with it at work and it can make for easier group communications when working on projects remotely.
What a fun app/device! It was very easy to set up, and is really fun to use.
A+++ WILL PTT AGAIN
I really was excited about this product. I had great hopes for it. I ordered 3 for my business. Instructions were confusing, but finally got them running. Problem was that they so often lost connection that it was impossible to consistently communicate. They were simply UNDEPENDABLE. Technical Support tried to help, but couldn't. They need a lot more work and FIELD testing to solve their technician problems to improve their software
Easy onboarding and setup. Support is very responsive. The user interface is slick, but not altogether intuitive. My friends and I experienced problems both transmitting and receiving: cutting out, no playback. Am really excited for this communicator, but it definitely still needs some work. Would be one star for not fulfilling the job it's supposed to do, but gave it an extra star for the aforementioned customer support. Will update as experience improves.
PPT is fine. It's clear. But, no text messages whatsoever nor messages log. Half of the features described here aren't available. What a shame.
