Othello - Official Board Game for Free

Quite good, very addictive game. I find the 'very hard' setting an enjoyable level of difficulty, but I think the hardest setting could be a good deal harder than that, when comparing to other / desktop versions of the game. Perhaps there is a limitation on the algorithms phones can run or something. The other thing if you're taking suggestions, is when a player can't make a move it's an annoyance to have to tap an ok dialogue for game play to continue. Just flash 'pass' on the screen I say.

Stuck on matchmaking the past few days. It's fun competing against other online players. However, like others commented, it can suddenly lose connection and kick you out in the middle of a game and ding you as a lost. Also, many times I get a blank board then flag the game as a lost or tie affecting your win/lost percentage. Of course, no offline play. Now, I can't play online since it's stuck in the matchmaking screen forever looking for an opponent. IRRITATING.

The game is really fun to play if your playing against the easiest level bot on offline. Plus there is a glitch where all of the pieces dissappear and there is no way of fixing it unless you delete the game and reinstall it. I'll be fair and say that I'm just bad at the game and the bots are probably easy to beat but I can't get over the glitch where all the game pieces disappear which can happen for both online and offline games.

Very nice app but needs improvement. 1. Offline mode is bugged, just a blank screen and no peices on board. 2. In online mode sometimes ( rarely) sometimes you cannot play a possible move. Move is possible and it shows you can play there but when you touch there nothing happens unless you play another possible move. 3. Also if you play your move on the last second of timer running out it registers the move but doesnt show on screen. It confuses you wether or not its your peice there or not.

Nicely applied graphics, would change a few things, firstly the move assist is on by Default, I keep it off but I could be playing against someone who has it on, which is unfair. Secondly you have to move away from subscription to stop adds and go onto a one time add free payment, so many people are put off by subscriptions including me especially for a game but would pay a one off fee for sure. Also would be good to be able to play favourite opponents again. Even so 5 stars

There is no possibility to get rid of the pestering advertisements once and for all by means of a purchase, only recurring subscriptions to milk customers dry forever. With so many superior competitor products being available in the Play Store, which can be bought instead of rented, this manifestation of greed has been replaced with three better alternatives that cost less than what these guys charge in a year. Uninstalled.

It's f@#&ing ridiculous. I was playing this for years. Might even be when it first came out. Seeing this awful add banner drawing on top of a particular region, without assessing whether one is accessing settings or other crucial stuff, is just - at least - noobish from a devs point of view. It's not even responsive. One star only to be fair in terms of all previous years I got to enjoy the game. As if I could rate zero.. But I would. Anyway, uninstalling. Geez.

Love the game but it crashes a lot and also after you've finished a game, (won or lost) when you start a new game you're back halfway into the previous game. Silly bugs that shouldn't be there.

5 star experience except my game decided to not load offline anymore. It keeps asking if I want to continue my last game, I say no and it goes to a blank board and won't let me go to menu or display anything. I close it, reopen and it happens again.

Fantastic game. No agressive ads or issues and tons of people playing any time so an online game only takes seconds to find. I do keep running into a glitch where the game won't start in single player and stops on the board with no pieces. Thats the only reason it's not 5 stars.

There is one drawback of this app concerning its graphics: when the pieces are flipped, it looks like a thin sheet, rather than the real piece as portrayed in the tutorial. Because Lite Games Ltd is known for its superior graphics experience, I would suggest in future release to implement that. Horrible app. The game will keep crashing when you try to find a match (which will count as a loss for you). I highly recommend Othello Quest if you're looking for an online reversi app that actually works.

I installed this so I could play online with friends. It crashes or loses the connection so often that I was only able to finish about 1 or 2 out of every 10 games I started. Sometimes rebooting my phone helped for maybe one game. It could be a reasonable app if it wasn't so buggy.

I got this app to play in a car ride when I don't have service, but the offline option doesn't work anymore. The board goes blank and there is nothing I can do. I've restarted my device, deleted and reinstalled, hit sleep on the app, changed the difficulty, I've done everything. It's so dumb. Please fix this problem

Good play but too many glitches. 1. Lag to server causes time out loss, and can be the opponent who times out and still says I lose. 2. Shows less moves than are actually available. Too many times playing I went to put a token where I could see I had a legal move but doesn't show it as an option to place. 3. Cannot play offline at all. 4. Even trying to open and play an offline game without it actually loading a board for play counts against win/loss avg. Needs work people. This is OFFICIAL?

The app is very buggy. The offline mode never works. The board is blank. About 60% if the time, the online mode doesn't work either. The board remains blank and nothing the happens.

My first game on this app. Literally, I was supposed to win. There's the top layer of the board. I couldn't tap it because of stupid ads blocking the whole damn thing. It literally ruined the game for me. Deleted it right after. Why play a game u can't play properly with an ad blocking the board. You can't even remove it.

Works well. I like the feature which shows you possible moves. But unable to customise the timer for online games, which is a drawback.

A fun, quick strategy game. Quite a few players online to challenge as well as AI bots. Very occasionally the game does not load as so you score shows a draw that lowers your win percentage down. I hope this gets fixed so that 0-0 scores just get ommitted.

This the only app we've found that two friends, from different parts of the country, can play together. It has a few bugs but is very good. If it had some way for two players to keep playing together without having to invite each other then it'd be perfect!

I've lost games just because the app didn't react to my commands and I ran out of time. It's like the app from time to time will simply hang and stop responding to any movement you are trying to do. That's very annoying guys and it's a really visible bug that's been around for a long time. What are you waiting to fix it????

Very unstable. Had to search for my friend ten times before the game would start, then after one move it told me I lost the game. Tried to start another but the board appeared with no pieces on it. Unplayable.

The game is actually fun. I can play with people from all around the world with their different level of skill. But sometimes it freezes in the middle of the game that I should wait for a long time and I cant do anything. If I quit the game, I will be lose and thats annoying. I hope it could be fixed as soon as possible

Game was fun at first. 50+ offline games, 3 online, and it went to hell immediately after. 2 online games in a row, the other player literally took my move and threw the game. Watching them play as both colors was infuriating. After that, I loaded an online game with no visible pieces, and took a "loss" because it timed out. I wrote it off as connection issues, then the same thing happened in 3 consecutive games offline. I've never been angry over Othello before. Well played. 😬

Disappointing . I've had this game for awhile and enjoyed playing it. All of a sudden it's developed a problem and won't work. I've rebooted my tablet and tried deleting and reinstalling the game, all to no effect.

Easy to learn tutorial. Can change difficulty levels. Change look of pieces. Ads are not loud, flashy, and annoying. Good for beginners and advanced.

The computer opponents are weak, even on hard level, 4 out of 5 times the game does not start vs random opponents and adds a tie or a loss to your score. Would be awesome if it worked.

Got an issue with the offline game. Nothing loads and always confirms if I want to start a new game but nothing happens. It is stuck. Sometimes online has the same issue but it times out and then it mostly starts a new game.

Connection drops constantly. I realize this is free and beggars can't be choosers, but jeez. It's beyond frustrating to be in the middle of a game and the connection drops on your turn. Also, I hate not being able to chat with my opponent or see their stats. HELLO??? Are the developers even interested?

Worked great for a few days, then there was a glitch in the offline mode which caused it to stop working permanently. Delete and reinstall didn't resolve the issue. Really disappointing.
