Horrible! Truly one of the worst apps to hit the market since the invention of apps. The connectivity between the hearing aids and the phone is garbage. You would think after 1000's of reviews all saying the same thing that they would fix the issue, instead of the auto-reply telling us to call support to discuss the issue. Hearing aids are great... app & connectivity garbage.
This is an update to my first rating of 1 star. After contacting customer support and seeing my audiologist, my experience with the app has improved. My connection issues have been resolved. The problem with not being able to answer the phone with the hearing aid is not an app problem as the aids don't have that capability.
I have a similar experience as the previous reviewer. I too purchased the latest "compatible" phone. Rarely both hearing aids work with the app, often one or the other hearing aid does. Sometimes I turn off Bluetooth altogether because neither work while I am trying to have a phone conversation. I am considering uninstalling the app altogether.
I can go through all the unpairing and repairing uninstalling and reinstalling the app turning Bluetooth on and off turning my phone on and off absolutely nothing helps. After an hour one or the other of my hearing aids disconnects. This is such a serious problem I cannot believe that Oticon has not addressed it. For those of us with hearing aids and an Android phone this is a nightmare. You've had two years to get this fixed. I don't understand why this problem cannot be rectified
If the app worked, it would be great. It is unreliable. I consistently have problems with it connecting only with the right hearing aid, so I can't hear through it properly. I've reinstalled it twice, tried connecting and reconnecting bluetooth and it may work once, but then it's not working later. This is totally frustrating so it's not useful or reliable.Update: I was able to get help and clearing the Oticon cache seemed to help.
This is totally unreliable. I have to constantly go through the "recommended" procedures of turning off my wifi, then turning off my bluetooth, turning it back on again to get it to connect. Even then it will only be either the right, or the left or not at all. I also did the uninstalling then reinstalling, this app, its very discouraging. I will miss important phone calls because I never heard the ring due to it disconnecting without warning. Fyi, I am using the latest Oticon 5 instruments.
The app is so inconsistent, it disconnects frequently several times a day, have to turn off Bluetooth and turn it back on, there are times when even that doesn't work. If the app performed like it's supposed to, it would be great! Very annoying! Galaxy S20, Android 12 up to date and latest firmware for the hearing aids. Please fix this!!
Like many others, the streaming flat-out fails. I have a Pixel 6. I have gone to my audiologist and also emailed with customer service and no one has been able to correct the issue. Streaming might work occasionally but will stop in one ear or the other or both. Phone calls are impossible. Streaming music works for a few minutes then stops. I have other headphones and earbuds (Bose and Skullcandy) and they work fine. Oticon "is aware of the problem". Very disappointing.
I lose connection in my right hearing aid too frequently. The only way to resolve this is by uninstalling the app, restart my phone, reinstall the app, reconnect/pair each device independently (there is always a hang up with the right hearing aid so I have to pair them individually). This is getting incredibly old having to go through this process close to every other day. Your responses on playstore say you are trying to fix this. It's been 6 mos. and I'm still waiting for the fix. Seriously?
Normally I would give this app 5 stars. I have been using this app since I got my hearing aids in August of 2021. Today, March 31, 2022, my hearing aids will not connect to Bluetooth. My wifi is off. The app keeps shutting off my Bluetooth. I have uninstalled the app and re installed. I have unpaired the hearing aids. My phone recognizes the hearing aids, but the app continues to shut off Bluetooth. I've never had this happen before. Has there been an update or something that I need to change?
Blue tooth drops or never connects. Very frustrating. When I first got them never had a problem, but now it just doesn't work at all! I haven't contacted but have tried working with the placed I bought the hearing and they are clueless about the issues shouldn't they be aware of the issues going on when an app they are providing to there customers!
Recently received a new pair of Opticon hearing aids thru VA. Unfortunately they are basically useless since the app disconnects one or both hearing aids several times per day. I have spent hours trying to resolve issue. Finally Called company and they said the issues are in their app and they are working to correct. Why would they roll out an app that doesn't work??? This is extremely frustrating and totally unacceptable!!
Several problems. Looses connection and had to be repaired several times a day, often doesn't stream sounds from phone during calls, and reports false battery charge when I know they are fully charged. This is unacceptable for hearing aids that cost thousands of dollars. I chose this model because of the phone streaming option. If this isn't resolved I will be returning them.
It appears that there is systemic problem with connectivity between my hearing aids and this app. Over the past two months I'm having to re-pair my hearing aid several times a day. Today I've just lost the ability to Bluetooth connect when using my phone to make calls. After re-pairing several times and rebooting my phone. I finally gave up and had to irritate people around my by using the speaker. When will this be fixed?
I've had the minirite 2 days. Wish I would have read these comments. Only the right side has wifi connectivity, off and on. I get a phone call, and a few minutes in, and suddenly I can't hear the person because it cut out. So I have to turn my phone's wifi off in order to have a conversation. This app is terrible. And yes, of course I've done all the troubleshooting that everyone else has done. Waste of time.
This app is horrible. It rarely connects to both hearing aids. I have followed instructions to disconnect/reconnect bluetooth; disconnect/reconnect my hearing aids with no satisfaction and extreme frustration. There is no excuse for a buggy app when I've paid SO MUCH for these top of the line devices. Oticon: invest in your tech staffing!
Same things others say - have used 1 day and right hearing aid disconnected. Went through all the steps which seemed to do little. Then I did get both connected BUT the app said that none were connected and yet I was listening to stereo music through both hearing aids. If this app were something other than a medical app, that would be bad but as it IS a medically oriented app, it borders on ridiculous. And they are now still connected via Bluetooth but the app refuses to recognize then - useless
When the app works, it's great - streaming music directly from my phone to my hearing aids is excellent. BUT! It loses the Bluetooth connection several times a day. I believe that happens primarily when I walk away from the phone. When I return, invariably one side will reconnect but not both. Sometimes it will reconnect if I turn off the Bluetooth and turn back on, but usually I have to restart the phone to force it to connect both sides.
Total garbage. I don't know how it works with other android devices, but it's not working with Google 6 Pro. I've had my hearing aids for well over a month now. It was difficult to get them to connect. Suddenly, though, it started working until 2 days ago when the left hearing aid would fail to connect. And now neither hearing aid will connect to the app.
The hearing aids are great, I've had them for about 6 months now. However, I got the pixel 6 pro and now Bluetooth has been glitchy. It is constantly disconnecting and trying to reconnect to the Bluetooth. When that happens the audio cuts out in the hearing aids making me feel very lopsided and almost dizzy. Please fix this issue, for right now I will be keeping my Bluetooth capability disconnected. Disappointed 😞
I've had my hearing aids for 24 hours, they only worked with the app for 1. I got a call not long after getting them and the call was garbled through one hearing aid, no sound came out of the other. Then as I got home the hearing aids disconnected from my phone and I can't get them to reconnect. I have a Google pixel 6 pro that is currently up to date on all software (I checked before typing this). I will update this as things change.
I have had them for three weeks and continually have issues with the bluetooth not working. Now it is only working in one ear. Impossible to hear correctly out of the side not supporting blue tooth regardless of what I do. I'm not pleased with the hassle of removing/reinstalling the Oticon app to see if that fixed it after following the other suggested pointers for problem solving. I find if I'm in another area that has spotting Wifi reception, it throws the pairing off completely. Argh!
I'm an android user, so was forced to wait for this app patiently. I was very happy when it was finally realeased. It is an important app for me, so having the connection between my phone and hearing aids working intermittently is very annoying. And it's rare that both hearing aids are connected at the same time. Please upgrade and improve this app!!
This is a supremely frustrating app! I love the programs, but can NOT take the repeated chimes/clicks as it connects, disconnects, changes programs and the volume over and over. For an hour sometimes. And at night, too. The reason I got it was to be able to stream. But, I was told I can't do that unless I upgrade. I'm not going to upgrade if this is what I'll have to deal with every day. I hope Oticon will be able to help. I don't want to have to uninstall this, but I can't take the noise!
