I actually was in tears the very 1st time I opened up the app, showed my 3.11 year old non-verbal autistic some of the fun tasks of matching fruits and he not only caught on but would scream in glee after he got each one right!! This comes as such a welcome development as its been quite a struggle. User friendly interface. Child catchy design. Staying power engagement for the kids. Surplus educative entertainment for neurotypical kids too. Way to go guys! Super impressive
We have tried traditional treatments like ABA, speech therapy. These had positive but temporary impact on him. He still struggled with social interactions. We searched for alternative methods to educate him at home and we found otsimo. I am really happy! He can play with the app for over an hour!! He is positively reinforced when he completes a game successfully. We work our way up the learning path. And I noticed that difficulty of the games change depending on his performance, which is great.
Absolutely horrible app. It wouldn't let me sign up for the free trail. After several minutes of trying it finally worked. Only to tell me after I filled out my sons information that I had to sign up again. It didn't save any of the information and wanted me to sign up. I had better not get charged for this disaster. Just trash don't waste money on this glitchy mess.
We play with my daughter together and she also can play by herself. She made progress on her enunciation and now initiates communication with others! She used to struggle with communication a lot. I wish we could also customize the AAC panel. That would be great. I will definitely try to get in touch with someone to voice my opinion.
I wasn’t sure about letting my child with autism to spend a lot of time on the phone. Games made for children with normal development are too much for him. The visual and audio stimuli make him frustrated. But this app is so well-balanced in terms of stimuli that my boy can sit and spend long stretches of time without being frustrated. Thank you so much!!!!
Literally spent about I think it was $87 for the annual membership. WHICH IS A LOT OF MONEY. The app LAGS and GLITCHES so much! And I have the app on my chrome book laptop and the app just wouldnt work properly. I'd rather just download the free app games I dont have problems like that. If you all are charging a lot of money make sure your app is up and running and working perfectly. Ridiculous.
I loved this when I first installed it. I planned on using it in my special ed classroom. The price was a little too much for me to spend on my own, so I planned on getting data with the free version to present to my school board to get funding, but then found out that you can only use the free version for 3 days and then it locks you out unless you buy the premium version. The tools are great, but not having a limited free version means I can't pitch it for funding, and I can't use the data.
Our therapist uses it in sessions and recommended it for at home practice and I am fairly impressed with the content. When she said it was very educational and also fun, I was afraid we couldn’t manage it but it’s very easy to use at home and helps with development a great deal.
We absolutely love the new look of this game! We work our way up the learning path and it is so fun!! And I noticed that difficulty of the games change depending on his performance, which is great. My daughter doesn't get bored with it and learns along the way. Great!!
My autistic daughter loves this app. Until the update. She used to play this game every day and it was her favorite., but ever since the last last update it doesn't go past the loading screen. Today we got past the loading screen just to find out that it wouldn't let her play until I bought a subscription. Not happy. I had the choice of letting this trigger a meltdown or pay over $100. No thank you.
Was given free trial. Then charged me. I sent an email to support they said try Google play. Google play says where just a platform and submits complaint. I contact developer again they don't respond even after you send them screenshots that they are be reported. Don't waste your money or time. Terrible app on top of that. Gave no time for processing speed after 2 seconds it lights up answer. That's not good for special needs kid who need time to figure it out. Worst app I've ever used.
It doesn't worth it. I don't have the access for the games after I pay for the annual premium. They so quick when they take the money but they won't be there when you ask for support. It is a total waste. I will see if they fix the issue & let ya'll
I paid for the Life Time Subscription but still have no access. The page is still locked on the purchase page. What's going on here? The the payment went through but it's still asking me to pay. Please give me the access I paid for or a refund. I will have to file a claim if I don't receive a response. (1/5/20) - 1 Star Otsimo just responded this morning and fixed the problem. I love this app so much! It helped our nonverbal child initiate communication using the app. I wish another reward mechanism could be implemented. I have contacted the team and they were very attentive. I am quite happy with my experience.
Previously reply about scam. Irecieved a reply to my review that i was sent 3 email reminders before they debit my account. I cancelled subscription during the trial period. I got am email saying subscription would be cancelled and they ask that i reply with a reason the app wasn't for us and looked forward to me giving them another try in the future. They want to take peoples money for and that seems to be the best this app will offer you. THIS IS MY FIRST EXPERIENCE WITH ANY APP DEVELOPER TO BE THIS CROOKED. I WILL NEVER ATTEMPT TO TRY ANY TRIAL APP AGAIN THAT ASK ME TO GIVE THEM MY PAYMENT INFO BEFORE THEY WILL LET YOU GO INTO THEIR APP TO SEE IF IT WILL BE USEFULL OR NOT.
We started to use this app on the advice of my child's pedagogue. Otsimo where you will get results when played regularly. We didn't think it would be easy to learn, but when it used with education in school, good results are born.
Use it as part of visual-perception and matching skills in an ABA program. Excellent app! Otsimo is very customizable and simple to use. My only complaint is that often the matching becomes repetitive. We need more games :)
My friend’s parents use this app for her twin brothers and they swear by it, that’s why I wanted to give it a shot with my little brother with autism. Convinced my parents to try it. My little brother loves playing the games and wants to play with the app at least two or three times a day. He especially loves matching games and emotions. He mimics the faces and laughs, pops the balloons and shows me how he is doing. He now initiates communication. I am so happy to see him open up more and more!
it's been difficult to establish a special education routine at home with what's going on around the world. this app was recommended to us by a special education teacher we know. we wanted to give it a try since we didnt have anything to lose and we love it! i didn't know an app would be this effective! my 3 yo son is now speaking thanks to this app
Thought I was getting a free app to help with my granddaughter. Found nothing I could use. Kept getting prompts to purchase upgrades. And getting stuck on a page that the oly button that worked was purchase now button. When I reloged in the same page kept coming up.
Thank you for helping people and contributing to children with special educational needs. Although my child is only 4 years old, he is interested in all games. There were games that started with the easiest level and went to other levels in a few weeks. Hopefully over time, many more games will be installed. We are looking forward.
Although we haven't been using it for a long time, I am excited to see a positive development in my child with autism. We have tried different applications, trainings and teachers from one before. But we have never seen an application that is so easily accessible education from home. We are happy with the results of using Otsimo.
Don't like that it asks for payment information almost immediately, but claims to be free. Also don't like that my PayPal information popped right up before I entered anything. Uninstalling and hoping I don't get charged, as I did NOT click on subscribe.
I bought a year subscription as part of a cyber Monday deal. Immediately after that it's already pressuring me to get now an extra premium subscription with a supposed discount, when I said no it suggested a new discount that I should accept before 5 minutes to get it, timer with seconds included. I feel that my kid's condition is being monetized. I prefer MITA, I feel I ended with Otsimo not because of a clear advantage but because of the sensation of urge they created on me.
Promising idea, but paying ten dollars a month for the years I want to use this is too much. If it was some one time payment I'd be interested. I can out that per month fee toward a therapy copay with a professional real person who will teach me things to practice at home instead
Our boy's tablet broke, bought another one but the app doesn't appear when searching Google play on that specific tablet. I did sign in with same credentials as ons other devices. Please help, things are desperate when he can't use the app... I have now seen that it says it is not compatible with this version... has anybody come across this and is there a fix?
I really wanted this to work! Unfortunately, on my Lenovo Chromebook it does not. It looks like an awesome app though and has won awards. UPDATE: Thanks Otsimo for your response! Usually there is a message on my chromebook that tells me an app is not compatible. it is not fair to give a 1 star rating for an app that is not available for chromebooks so I am changing to a 4 star for great customer response. If you label your app as not available for chromebooks I will raise it even higher.
