Ottawa Citizen ePaper

Pretty much hit and miss; for a while it'll work fine, then suddenly the wheels begin to wobble (can't read the comments section or page links to continuing article stops working, etc) and finally it stops working altogether. Assistance required, stuff works ok for a while, then problems start all over again. At least i get to read most of the paper - for a while. Mickey mouse at best....

It's not bad but words are hyphenated far too often and not grammatically correct as a single letter can appear on one line and the rest of word on another. Paragraphs are split when there is no need. Occassionally, the hyperlinks are not functional or the epaper doesn't download at all. Request for assistance can take up to two to three days. We could be in a nuclear war and I wouldn't know! Obviously tongue-in-cheek. Bottom line, app is lacking in professionalism which is disappointing.

I keep getting error message that this is an old app and check for updates. When I check for updates it just brings me to the same spot, tells me it is already installed. I would like to disable some of the permissions, such as access to my contact list, which seems like an unwarranted invasion of privacy. However when I try to do it, it tells me it is an old version and will stop working. I select "update" but it goes back to the original spot in the app store. Help!!

This app have never been very consistent. I'm running on a relatively new Galaxy A7 and the app started failing daily. So, today, I uninstalled it and started to re-install it. The first pop up said that the app is written for an older version of Android that I am running. I am running 11. Maybe that's why the app is so flaky. I wonder is anyone at the Citizen is contemplating updating this thing.

Really disappointed. I have installed it twice. Each time after one use the blue highlighting on the article title that takes you to a view of the article disappears for good. No updates since 2018??? No wonder newspapers are in trouble.

It's erratic in downloading, touching the screen can change the font size if you do it in the wrong way, and I often have to uninstall and reinstall the app, signing in again to get my subscription newspaper.

The app downloads the daily newspaper well enough but it not easy to find back issues. Also the ability to send an article link doesn't always work and copying the article when using a smart phone distorts the font/pictures making the article unreadable.

Application prone to freezing. User comment numbering clutters up the display and can't be turned off. Simply low grade poorly thought out inflexible app. Not my first comments on such. No response from service provider. Bush league phone system, terrible wait times and abysmal service April 2022

Very easy to read on a tablet. Can't find any longer table of contents listing the sections. I'd like to go to a section, like C1 without leafing through.

The Citizen E-Paper, so far works A-OK on my Chromebook. Loads well and the ability to zoom in on a page for better reading capability is great. Easy to read text.

What is going on with the app since the last few days? Always worked very well so far but now, I can only read a few pages before everything is frozen and I have to close and reopen the app. Not fun.

Has problems from time to time with downloading and when you tap the title of an article it will not open it in page mode.

Not working today on my tablet and smart phone. Says it can't connect to network. All other apps work fine. Server issue?

It is frustrating! I'm not able to get my paper delivery today and this digital application also failed to let me read today's paper!

Love being able to read the paper on my tablet. So easy and convenient. And no ink on my hands 🤗

The app has not been updated to work with the latest version of Android. It will not work.

Luv the epaper. So convenient and I can get it wherever I am, on trips etc, wherever there is email, even MacDonald's.

Having to relauch the app a minimum of 3 times to get through a single issue of the paper is totally unacceptable

Thanks for this app. I appreciate being able to read the paper on my tablet any where I go.

Latest version crashes constantly. Unusable now. Please fix.
