Used to work well but after the last few firmware updates the ring is no longer connecting or being recognized, the Bluetooth can't find it. It's annoying and I hope you fix it asap! I've only been using the ring since December, so if that's its life expectancy ; not worth it.
The user experience is disappointing. I upgraded 2>3 to get SpO2. It still doesn't do that, but the green lights flashing at night are annoying. More irritatingly, the app gives many conclusory statements that are either impossible to act upon, or worse, just decipher. When either RHR lowered or raised the previous night, the solution for both situations is to take things easier the next day. It displays a metric for heart rate variability balance. No idea what that means or how to use it.
app is horrible. slow to load and sync, error messages when trying to do anything under the my profile or settings screen. "An unknown error occurred". Contacted CS for an RMA and will be shipping it back. It's definitely a great concept which should remain in beta for now as it's not a product ready for prime time.
I like the Oura sleep algorithm a lot. It has caught every nap I have taken and gets my exercise without me having to add anything myself a lot of the time. It takes maybe a minute for sleep data and such to sync but I usually just tap the app and stick it in my pocket and I have never had any errors. I like that I can go camping and unplug and when I get back it can sync all my sleep data from the weekend.
It's ok, still a bit buggy at times when I need to close and reopen the app. Would be great if it showed more trends in the top graph like HRV, or if the app was a bit more customizable. These are things that would help really set it apart from other health tracker apps.
The app is mostly great. A little hard to navigate and find info I've seen before but otherwise we'll organized and helpful. The biggest pain right now are the ads for recommending the ring to friends that pop up every time the app is opened and the error message: "something went wrong" that shows up every time I open the settings menu but provides no other useful info to diagnose the problem or even indicate what the problem is.
I had no issues with the Gen 2 so I upgraded to the 3 but several features still are not available for Android. Recently have had a lot of issues with data loading and the ring will not sync for several days. I do not know what has changed in the past few weeks but the only help I have gotten is being told to perform a soft reset but I cannot do that if the ring will not sync.
Doesn't sync consistently without hacky efforts. Every morning is a lottery if the application will sync. I've had the ring since version 1, over 4 years because of the functionality and convenience of the ring. On the verge of switching to something else since they cannot seem to get syncing to the app right.
REALLY disappointed for how expensive this was. I don't own any of the previous ones, but I'm definitely experiencing the same issues other Android users have reported. My sleep data doesn't sync, I don't get an accurate heart rate reading through the day and I've yet to see anything about 0² saturation anywhere in the app. I have 6 months for free, but I'm not seeing anything worth paying $6 a month for after the trial period. Bottom line? Unless they fix the issues, don't waste your money.
Lots of bugs, slow to connect to ring, not all mediation videos works all the time. It's sharing functionality it pretty rubbish. It gets the job done, but it's in no way industry leading, it's just an ordinary app. Not all apps can be great, there is the reason a bell curve exists and this is right in the middle of the bell curve.
Excellent insights into sleep and overall fitness. I would love to see TRX workouts added as an activity that you can record! Sleep insights for naps would very a welcome addition as well. For the most recent update which added auto workout detection, the accuracy seems pretty low, although I completely understand that it's a new feature. It rarely detects when I am actually working out, and other times it detects activity when I am not actually doing anything.
I like the ring itself. Not having the SPO2 as advertised is very disappointing. It is slow to update at times. Overall, It is a good product and i like. However, If no O2 measurements then I may not continue after my free trial membership. I would like it to add golf and stretching to workout options. Would like it to be compatible with my fitness pal app.
The ring itself is nice but scratches easily. The app is pretty glitchy and I'm annoyed that I will soon have to pay monthly for something that isn't up to scratch. It often fails to connect to the ring, duplicates workout information, doesn't detect naps properly...and I wrote to customer care to point out some of my technical issues and two months later I've just received a stock email saying they were so busy they still couldn't address my query. Not good value for money, disappointed .
Every time I try to use the ring and app together, the app crashes and or begins updating. Every time it 'updates' it doesn't, either going for 3hrs or the light turning red. I've contacted twice through email and had the same directions sent to me every time which didn't work. I tried to ask for a new ring, I bought the ring during the grace period the email that was sent stated. I bought this to help with my disability, this is super disappointing considering the price of the ring.
Gamifying sleep has been awesome. The app is very helpful! It gives plenty of actionable information and insightful tips. Quite helpfully, information is made apparent basically proportionally to your investigation/interest. The basic data presented for each day would be valuable enough, but if you want more information, if you want to see trends in any of dozens of metrics on three different time scales, it's easy to find in the app.
I love the data the app and ring provide. However, ring does not sync without restarting multiple times over a 15-20 minute time frame. And now I am experiencing days that have no data recorded. Very frustrating. Paid a lot for a ring and app that did not work properly or in a timely manner
I love the idea of Oura and the features provided. I can definitely tell a difference in my readiness if I don't meditate before bed. I'm disappointed that Android updates are so insignificant. I've been listening to the same stories for so long that I have them memorized. I find myself saying them along with the narrator which often keeps me from going to sleep. Oura really needs to work on that!
I've had the ring 3rd generation for a few months now. At first I was pumped. I admit I got into the 3rd ring knowing that a new pay system was coming and that not all features would be there. But now with 2022 Q1 gone and no new features to be seen, I can't shake the feeling that i was fooled into the Oura too early. This new update supposedly auto detects workouts. So far none of them have been detected. With delays in 3rd gen features i truly hope they extend the trial period.
NO support, none! I had the second version and now have version 3, I really had high hopes for this device. The ring has potential but is not accurate at documenting sleep, does a good job of counting steps but doesn't recognize exercise activities. Unfortunately, in my experience oura has oversold what the ring can do.
The ring is great, the app is underwhelming. Misses a lot of the latest features already present on the iOS for a good while. Connection and data transfer problems, but I learnt to fix it with a simple trick: force quit the app and start it again. Works every time for me, although still annoying. My main complaint is really that despite Android being the world's most used mobile OS, the Oura team seems to be very Apple centric. Not cool for us enthusiastic paying customers. Not in 2019.
