My son has figured out how to uninstall OurPact from his device even when the block settings feature is enabled. I've previously reached out to the support team, but never received a response back. On his Samsung S9, he has figured out a sequence, which he has done in front of me, that allows him access to uninstall the app -- allowing him free-range. Unfortunately, we need to move onto an app that will actually do what it advertises.
Works amazing! I've used this app for over 2 years now (Samsung to Samsung). I haven't had any issues with it working, it's been super helpful. My daughter is getting a new Iphone this week and now that I'm reading reviews it seems like there are others with issues getting them to sync. I'm a little worried! I sure hope it works.
It can be a bit tricky to install on some Apple devices, only because Apple makes you jump through sooooo many hoops. The Android install is much easier, well because, Android is so much better. With that said, I have this installed on 10 iPhones, iPods and iPads. Once set up, it is so easy and quick to make changes (modify permissions) for different devices. I am very, very happy with this app and it's remote device controls. I love the looks on their faces when I turn off access. It happens instantaneously! Then back on when their chores are completed. This app is great!
This app came highly recommended, so I purchased it after a trial period. Unfortunately my child still has access to the apps on the phone, even though it supposed to be set to block during a certain time period. the only thing that is blocked consistently is the settings menu. I reached out to the company as of today twice with no response. They can either reach out to me to provide me with a refund or resolve my issues.
I don't normally leave reviews, but this is the most useless app I've ever used. First off, it scattered all the apps on my iphone that were organized in folders after the block was done. Now I have to spend a chunk of my time reorganizing the apps or else I'll probably have to erase and reset my content. Second, it was easy to remove the management in the settings. Third, it's obviously a money grab and you have to pay for most of the features. Anyone with ios is better off using screentime.
Ever since upgrading to premium, my child has been able to use apps that are specifically blocked on the parent side, like you tube (android phones). This makes the money that I am paying useless. On the free version, he can't use his camera and gallery to take pictures for school assignments. Which is why I upgraded to premium. Considering not keeping the app at all. I have wasted almost $15, plus countless hours arguing with him. Not worth my time or money at this point. Very disappointed.
I hate to give apps a one star because i know it's hard work to put together. I tried this for iPhone and it was just so difficult to even get stated using it because it went thru 30 minutes of backing up onto my laptop and then it said the Phone didnt have enough storage to continue the installation process. I had to pay for the app to find out that it doesnt work on the phone i need it to use it on. I emailed support and no response. I have uninstalled it and will keep looking.
It'd be a great app with some critical fixes. 1) Youtube as a p-i-p in the bottom corner doesn't use up screen time, 2) my kids have identical phones but the gps locator for the app has never worked in one of them, all phone settings verified 3) the server for parents to use the program seems down, laggy or glitchy way more often than it should be. 4) schedules need to be much more customizable so i can turn on/off different things at different times. 5 stars otherwise. lol.
Extremely unintuitive. BEWARE I WAS LOCKED OUT OF MY OWN IPAD due to the app. I had to factory reset the iPad and remove the manager. If you are looking for a competent free app to lock other apps THIS IS NOT IT. worth while features are locked behind a subscription. Save yourself the trouble and do not download. It is rated low for a reason. It's kind of mind blowing that they made a simple concept so complicated.
I have an LG Android phone, and my daughter has an IPhone 6. The app was fantastic for a few weeks, now it seems to have lost contact with her phone in the last week. There are no apps in the app list, which is the only thing I use, and I still am not able to install the other part of the app on her phone to get use of the premium abilities I am paying for. I could stand waiting for them to fix the OurPact Jr. issue if the rest was working...
disappointed you can only add one child free then you have to pay for premium package to add another child. Also when the phone is switched back on for my child's phone, all the apps are removed from the folders and you have to re file all the apps back into your designated folders. Very time consuming doing this every morning. I will delete this app.
I've been using this app all of 1 hour and I absolutely love it. [I have tried 4 other apps in the last 5 hours] I have an android and my son has an iPhone. It was so simple to install and the features are better than most competitors. Im VERY happy right now. I will come back and update my review after a week or two. 😁
When I first found this app I thought the features were some of the best I'd seen for only $7 a month. I was very disappointed, though, after we had it for a few days and my daughter's phone kept rejecting the app. I would literally have her phone in my hand and within 5 minutes of reinstalling the app I would get a message that said her phone wasn't protected. Customer service was as helpful as they could be but we had to get rid of it after trying unsuccessfully to get it to work.
The app often froze up my child's galaxy S5. Also it was inconsistent with when I allowed extra time. Sometimes it would activate quickly sometimes it seemed the 2 phone's were unlinked. I live the idea behind this app ans was willing to pay a subscription, but the freezing was over all to annoying, and after a few tries of getting ahold of customer service with no reply, we decided to look for another option for our family
Bugs galore... DEVs need to do better. 1) Says IPhone is offline when it is not 2) Enabling screenshot disables the entire desktop springboard! 3) On 1 of 2 phones apps blocked w/o rule on 4) App omehow disabled the dock icons when installed It would not allow for a trial so I had to pay as well but I feel sorry for people who think this app is stable. Possibly for Android, but for IOS which let's be honest is what the kids ALL use it is terrible. I have fired DEVs that work for me for less
At first I loved the app. It was great for screen time however, we paid for the full subscription and I was very unhappy when I had the filter on to block explicit content and when looking through my childs history, she accessed inappropriate content. We are going to try to go with google family link which is free and see if we can get better blocking.
I hate to give 1star, but it's just not working. I use Android, son using Apple. Not sure if that's the cause of the disconnect. It doesn't block his apps per the school schedule I set up. To bypass that, I set the block to "until I say so". And even that changed to permission granted. The locator doesn't work either, even when I set his phone with the correct permissions, especially with life 360. It keeps reading he's at home.
I wanted so much to like this app but trying to set up on the apple ios has been ridiculous up to the point that I decided it was not worth my time. You need to do it on computee, back up, restore, back up again, restore...Then trying to uninstall it make me hate it even more again need to back up, restore, go to itunes - after an hour stuffing around i cant install nor unistall it. They definitely are not making it easy and I wonder how many people does exactly what I did - cancelling the trial subscription before even trying it. Waste of my time. I wouldnt recommend it unless if you have heaps time on your hand.
I actually would give it 5 stars for what Its supposed to be able to do. But Reason for one star is the easy ability my kid has to get into his phone & delete the manager profile. I have had to go on his phone countless times to reinstall. Its also doesn't communicate well to turn off. Both our phone has full signal and strong wifi signal and will sometimes take 10 min or more to shut his phone down. Only reason I put up with it is i like the features it offers just wish was more consistent.
At first 5 star. All the phone's apps shut down at 9pm, except the texting app. I think I needed to hook the phone up to my computer to manage specific apps. I never made it that far. Because first thing the next morning my 14yr old went online and found out how to disable th app. WHAT THE $&@* The second issue was when the blocked apps came back the next morning, they didn't come back in the same place they disappeared from. They had like apps, saved in separate folders. That would annoy me too.
I really loved this app for the possibility to set up the limits for specific apps and for creating multiple schedules. But the Screen Time Allowance is blocking all the apps that are set to only be limited in time on my device - instead they are not accessible at all when this function is on. Please fix it as this feature is really wanted! Currently I am just disabling it in the app settings and controlling the time allowance in person. Also would be nice to have a demo version of what the subscription will look like before or buying it, since your free version is totally unfunctional, hence doesn't provide any idea on the functionality and the quality.
We are paying for the premium membership and have 3 children that are linked to our account. It works as far as schedule blocking. The major issue is trying to block certain apps. It only shows apps for one of our children. We have contacted customer support more than 4 times and no response back. I would like to keep app if we can get this resolved. We have android systems. Please contact us or respond to this review. This is my last ditch effort.
Helpful app, have been using for about 7 years with phones and tablets. Overall our experience has been good and it has save lots of arguments over device use and screen time. It has a few bugs to deal with, is a little fiddly to setup and the gps locator isn't terribly accurate but positives far outweigh these.
The app used to do a lot of things well, but recently it struggles. It used to sync changes automatically but for the past 2 months the app on the child's device needs to be opened to sync. I went to the website for a solution and read to contact tech support. After a few emails I got response. I will be uninstalling and using a different app
