I spent several weeks communicating with their developers over many issues. The app closes when I try to use the To-Do List and doesn't send reminders for what was previously entered, making it useless. I sent all the information requested (phone, version, Android version, app version etc.) They haven't addressed one issue. They had an update that didn't address any of these issues. It is apparent the developers don't know what they're doing. Deleting and good riddance.
*I've used this app for years. I love it! I can arrange categories so they match the layout of the store, which makes it effective and efficient. This app stores the last price paid, so I'll have an idea of the cost of my shopping list as I create a list & no surprises at checkout. I can choose the quantity & unit of an item. I would give 5 stars if I could add to the list by voice. Otherwise, I'm satisfied with Out Of Milk. *Update > I'm getting ads that I can't exit out of & they click easy🙄
PRIVACY ISSUES! While I love this app for its functionality, including the ability to categorize lists, to store recent items, and the ability to share lists with my partner, I have recently been more concerned by privacy issues. Specifically, the app will ON ITS OWN add specific name-brand items to my list! This has been occurring with increased frequency and is honestly creepy. Ads I can understand with a free app, but essentially putting those ads onto my grocery list is going way too far!
Since my last rating, I've gone from being unable to open app post update, to using app quite well for a few months to now having suddenly lost my extremely well organised shopping list AGAIN! This is the 3rd or 4th time. Was there last week, gone this week. I see there was an app update on 2May. I've used this app for years with no trouble. Now in the last year or so, trouble with lost lists is common. AND NOT ACCEPTABLE that you can't use the webpage if you're outside US/Canada!
Used to be better app years ago. But still has problems: 1. On the app or the web account, you can select an item on a list to be deleted, then "sync", but the item is never deleted. So, as you can imagine, after many years of items added, the search suggestions as you type became useless. I have reported this problem manyntimesnover the years, but Tech Support has been useless. 2. And, now, my ZenDesk login to reply to Tech Support no longer works. Too bad, Out of Milk was a great app.
I've used this app for years. I love that it categorizes items so my list matches up with my path through the store. I also love being able to specify sizes and amounts of items and the customization options. This last update messed something up and now the app crashes upon opening, but I'm sure it will be fixed soon and I'll be here when it's working again.
This was a really good app; simple to use, great widgets, and the ability to share a list was quite helpful in theory. However the shared lists never really synced well taking hours and hours for items to appear across devices. The whole app has stopped working now - crashes every time you try to interact with it and the widgets stopped working. Eventually tried to uninstall and reinstall but the same issues, but now I also have none of my lists and the widget won't even display.
Recently, the app started freezing for a few seconds every time I make a change to a list. It's never done that before. It's annoying while working on a list. 5/4/22 Worse and worse. Every time they up the app it gets worse. Freezes for as long as 30 seconds when I make or change entries and has started crashing frequently.
I now can no longer use this app. The web app refused to recognise my password or send me a password reset, so I created a new account, which it allowed me to do using the same email address! The phone, however, was still showing all the old list details and wouldn't sync. so I uninstalled it from the phone, hoping that if I reinstalled it I would be able to connect to the new web account. But no. Having uninstalled it, it is now no longer available in Google Play so I can't add it back in. I guess I'll just have to find another app. :( A waste of an hour setting up my new list on the web app. *EDIT* So having made the 'difficult decision' not to offer the app outside of the USA they simply chose to shut other users out of their accounts without warning or explanation. I hope users within the USA don't meet a similar fate one day.
