You are an astronaut awaking from cryonics not in the solar system, but... out there... in a far and unknown place of the galaxy. In Out There, you will have to survive, tinkering your ship with what you can gather drifting in the void, and spot garden planets to refill your oxygen supply.

Space is an hostile place ; dangerous and mysterious adventures will mark each step of your travel. You will not only meet intelligent species that won’t care about you, but also deal with ancient powers linked to your destiny and the fate of mankind itself.

Survival and understanding of what is really at stake in the galaxy is the core of what Out There has to offer.

An interesting take on a crowded and often overdone genre. Removing combat in favor of focusing on the journey itself is a good idea. Learning the language and exploring to find new tech and resources is a rewarding experience. Unfortunately the RNG kneecaps the game at times, even with careful planning. One bad incident entering a solar system could destroy a piece of equipment and the only way to get the resource to repair it is with the destroyed equipment. Overall recommended

Could have been an interesting game. I actually enjoy resource management games. But this is terribly out of balance. After 50+ attempts and a variety of strategies and ships I have yet to get remotely close any vaguely identifiable goal. If you like doing the same thing repetively with very little variation and no measurable accomplishments, then this is the game for you. Best of luck.

Let's put it this way: I downloaded a bunch of games for a 10-hr roadtrip. This was the 2nd or 3rd out of them that I tried, at least 1-2 hrs into the drive. I logged 12 hours of playtime in the first day. If you like strategy, resource scaveninging & management, rpg elements, & a good challenge, do yourself a favor & download this game. Only recommendation is minor UI updates for swapping screen views & using materials while mining etc. Only found 1 bug, that eventually fixed itself anyway

Had fun with this but uninstalling now. I really enjoyed the game, despite the randomness. However, the one thing I could not forgive is after dozens of plays, finally getting really close to a checkpoint, only to have my subspace reactor randomly destroyed, stranding me on a star whose neighbors were all beyond reach of the space folder. Also, losing techs permanently is lame. I get that the game is supposed to be hard, but that's just a step too far beyond fun for me.

Cool concept executed poorly. I had one of the best possible starts be ruined by RNG that sent me to a star system with no nearby stars that my ship could travel to. That, in a nutshell, is about 90% of the game. Could've been a fantastic game if it felt like your skill level mattered at all. As it stands, learning about the game barely increases your odds of success at all, leaving the game feeling unrewarding and more frustrating than it needed to be. Not recommended.

This is a beautiful game that is very challenging. It is hard to win. You need to be careful, plan thoughtfully, and yes get lucky. If you cant tolerate needing some luck to win a difficult game I wouldnt recommend. But, the gameplay is intuitive, the design and feel is beautiful, and if you like survival/resource management games the replayability is fantastic. Every play through is different. Worth the buy.

Great game, but frustrating. As others have stated, luck is a big part of the game. One may need a long string of good luck to get far... which may appeal to some, but also frustrate. Luck might extend into ways that might not seem "realistic", for example planets should often contain a much wider variety of available elements, so the involvement of luck often seems too punishing.

Bravo to the developers, this is a truly wonderful game that has very clearly been designed for touchscreens. No stupid action sequences, no finicky controls, just you and a deep system of mechanics to explore. I would love to see the starter ship be randomized, and I wish I could destroy a piece of tech to learn its blueprint, and make no mistake, this game is just unfair, giving you new ships that, if you take them, make progress impossible being my personally most hated trick.

It has a lot going for it - graphics, design, writing - all are quite good to great. Mechanics are fun too. In my opinion it's let down by poor level design - it seems you can be totally stuck without any way to get to new star systems, and backtracking is no fun at all. I wanted to like it but never managed to finish a questline as I couldn't reach the relevant star systems. It's a shame because I did enjoy the time I spent with it.

In short this is a dark, story driven adventure game with a heavy emphasis on resource management. Of the few dozen games Ive played on Mobile, this is my favorite. Its not a free game but it is worth the money. No microtransactions or "pay to win" type gameplay. Its a complete game with several endings depending on the path you choose. The galaxy is randomly generated each time, which makes some sessions harder than others depending on the hand you get dealt.

Equally engaging and frustrating. I really like the concept and the game play. I just wish less was left up to chance and a little more on skill and strategy. Just when I think I'm making progress and have a handle on my resources. some bolt out of the blue wipes me out and I have to start again. I get that's the point of the game but still, perhaps make it a little more rewarding

a solid mobile game, mostly a choose-your-own-adventure with a slight emphasis on placing modules inside your ship. not incredibly engaging, but it's really nice for long flights. distraction friendly. besides getting a visual indicator that you have been to a star already, no information is saved from where you've been and you cannot make notes.

Despite my best efforts using resource management some of the game is still based on luck. I do like that this game has previous life retention; everytime you explore you learn something new about the universe. Overall it's a very fun game for someone looking for something less mind numbing than the average mobile game, but does require some thought to progress.

Really fun game. Definitely some ftl vibes with the storied "combat". But, has its own unique resource management systems. Can get pretty repetitive after winning a few times in different ways. Also a quick mention the previous app icon was imo a LOT better. This one looks too generic, my eyes glide right over it. But that's a small small gripe. Really happy with my purchase.

As many other reviews have stated, this game is outdated on the mobile version. It no longer posts or records achievements. If you do not care about the achievements but love this type of game, you can still play it offline as a time-killer. I bought this app a long time so I do not regret purchasing it although I do miss getting the achievements.

Really wanted to like this game, especially because it's visually pleasing... But it's painfully random and there's no progression between runs to make it worth it. Even what little you learn between rounds winds up being moot because of the aggressive dice rolls at every step. There's something here that just needs tweaks... But it's hot garbage at the moment.

I wanted to like it. The concept is great. Execution is just frustrating. No matter how carefully you plan, you just end up circling the drain, over and over again. If I DO have to do it over, I want something I learned from my previous failure to matter. But that doesn't happen. Nothing is predictable, and there are no reliable clues. If you're into random futility, I recommend real life. Video games should be skill-based enough to overcome randomness. Call me back if that changes.

I love the new update. Also, bug reports: - Human icon shows an alien instead. - In a random event I got an Alien item. It had no protrait, and I could split it (0 alien, 1 alien). The names were also random elements like Tungsten. - I cannot move items to expanded item space after the Symbiotic Extension upgrade. The game acts like I'm throwing things away. - When taking over ships I randomly can't interact with items. - Every once in a while I'll learn a word with no definition. "ATLAS = "

"It is possible to commit no mistakes and still lose. That is not a weakness, that is life." That quote from another famous space explorer explains this game very well. It's also a strength of this game; my enjoyment comes from the journey rather than being able to learn "the best way to beat the game". That said, there are some needed QOL upgrades needed to make this game better: remove the 0 meter option from the gas probe, change the mechanic requiring up to seven 1m gas probe launches.

Great game! Was very difficult at first, but once you play it enough, it becomes much easier, especially when you figure out some tricks. See a ship that you don't really want? Use it as a storage unit for resources and fuel. Find an amazing gas planet that give tons of fuel? Mine it, leave the system, then come back and mine it again. Always mine/probe with level 10, just keep iron on hand. I had an alien ask for calcium, which isn't in the game, it liked my carbon gift though.
