Buggy and no clear move to fix. Often has errors. The interface isn't great. Used for 2 years. With how successful outdoorsy is, I'm surprised they haven't made a better app interface. Last renter I had, they returned and I couldn't start the key exchange. It didn't show up til days later, once my rv was already in storage and couldn't easily photo for checkin. On a side note, all rental forms should be digital with an ability to sign in app. Printed contracts are antiquated.
Great service. The app is good, my previous rating was 5 stars, but I'm no longer able to type/submit renter reviews on my Samsung (possibly since a recent update). When I select the field to type in a review, the app keyboard no longer appears.
Hard to navigate. As a rv owner i want to be able to clearly see a itemized list of all our listing add ons and fees charged, as well as a breakdown of the fees outdoorsy charges me. When a renter inquires about a quote the app does not clearly show what they have selected, and what they have opted out of. This makes the process hard and confusing for both parties.. The only reason i use this app is to generate more income from my rv. Rvesy is a much better laid out app to use.
very poor app. it will not keep my charges applied in the app. it keeps setting my charges to zero for generator use, delivery charge and prep fees.
Awful lot of negative comments here. I don't know what I'm doing wrong but, it works great for me. I wouldn't call it perfect, but it keeps me connected and on track daily. The most important stuff is all there, including easy links to printing out forms and uploading pictures. And I love that I can see my message history right in the dashboard along with the schedule. I would hate for the app to NOT be available. Not sure what all the fuss is about, works for me... Thanks Outdoorsy! :)
Great idea, poorly executed. App and website difficult to navigate, freeze, and can't find info that should be readily available in profile. I tried to book three different RVs and one was in the shop for repairs, one the website froze during checkout and was apparently rented out while I tried to fix the freezing problem, the third one the owner never confirmed by booking. If there was a kindergarten in computer programming that's what level this would be at.
Devs are getting closer and closer. Messages seems to be updating near live now. No crashing.....but the messages on the main dashboard page are very outdated, the specific messages page is fine. I haven't tested but I'm hoping the speed in which you upload pics on handoff vastly improves from before. Now its not crashing anymore but you can see messages. They just aren't the most current messages. Note 10+
Truly one of the worst apps I have the displeasure of being required to use regularly. Buggy as can be, unreliable, slow... I get notifications but tapping them does nothing. New messages done appear, pages are slow to load, the photo uploads for handoffs are unusable... Need I go on? *Edit Aug 18, 2020 The developer responded and said to reach out but currently I'm experiencing about a 3 week wait on replies to any Outdoorsy email... *Edit Oct 2021. The app still crashes nonstop.
Buggy. The calendar on the phone app will not show dates I've blocked out (unavailable) using the website. Also the messaging is really laggy, I get a pop-up notification and then when I open the app it won't show the message. I must wait or pull down to refresh a number of times before it shows. I don't trust the app, I either let my girlfriend manage bookings through her iPhone version of the app or just go to the website. You guys have some work to do for Android! UPDATE: App much better now
This is seriously the worst app i have ever downloaded. It does not sync with the Outdoorsy site so you never know if you are getting new messages/requests at all. I am stunned that a company like Outdoorsy would put out a worthless app like this. I deleted it last night to see if it would fix itself if i downloaded it again and guess what.....now i am not able to login. Only giving it 1 star as it seems that you cannot give it a zero.
There are several essential features that are not available on the app that are available on the website. along with that there are options on the app that don't work or function that do work in function on the website. It would be nice if they worked on the app because it is much quicker and easy to use especially when you are on the go doing pickups and drop offs with just your phone.
Android version has been improved , the calendar could use a more visual color coded view instead of the small dots! Inbox texting is now working better, recent attempt to upload pics and renter signature did not work! Will wait patiently for bugs to continue to be fixed, been using the website version in the meantime , keep up the improvements:)
it's terrible UI, too many notifications, loses drafts in the app, not good functionality for showing owners delivery and pickup options
seems like most of the important portions of the app for me as a renter only work on IOS, the Android version has become a bit more stable in the last 6 months *I.E the messaging now works without force stopping the app*, but still broken for the most part *I.E the vehicle page no longer loads my trailer so I cannot send quotes, just get an error pop up when I open the vehicle tab*. Why does is ask if I can search for flights in the "tell us more" tab on the "rate this app" page?
Almost useless. Barely functions. Edited to add that with the latest update it has gone from barely working to not working at all edited to add. Messaging and stability are corrected but the app still won't upload pictures and won't allow you to use it to hand off and return the camper
Outdoorsy adds 35 a day for insurance and a extra 600 just for them on a few trips I tried to book. Its way to expensive. The overall price becomes too high. And app is missing favorites or vehicles viewed and you can link from a message to the person's vehicle. So app is no good either.
Not ready for prime time. This app is not very useful. First tried using it on my phone. It doesn't allow upload of pictures and keeps circling back to inital menu. Next I tried using my laptop, and got nowhere. Outdoorsy could offer a manual way to upload pics until this app is functional.
When I try to open up the app via Facebook option nothing happens. When I try to set up my account using email it says there's an account already set up with this email. I initially set it up via Facebook using my computer and never used the email/password setup. This app is worthless because I can't get into my account via Facebook. I'd give it zero stars if I could.
This app has some serious problems.. conversations do not appear on the app that are on the computer with customers. This is a major problem as sometimes the conversations don't appear on the app when customers are trying to contact us.. The app is also very clunky and doesn't seem to sync at all
The app sucks for rv owners. Full of bugs and glitches. Sending quotes doesn't work properly. When trying to edit my Rv it says I changed it but actually sets it to defaults on features and add ons. Can't edit my vehicle at all. The booking section and calendar is a mixed up mess. Will change this review once the issues are fixed on Android
Honestly pretty worthless except the app does notify you when you have a new message. Doesnt update inbox though for some reason. Cant pull up my listing or any booking requests etc. Basically nothing works on the app except new message alerts and at least i can open my inbox. The website is great though. Try that instead.
Good for basic viewing. It doesn't work real well for uploading pics for departure and return. Some features won't upload. Could definitely use an update. I'm just happy they finally have an android app.
Needs work. Layout is good but when I have a notification and select it, it will not open the app. It will go to my home screen. Also, when I choose messages it would be nice to see the whole conversation instead of just what you are writing.
As other's have wrote this App has it problems. It's latest update has some improvements. I just had to file an Insurance claim for a damaged Awing. I use the App to take the Departure and Return pics. The App doesn't save all the pics taken. Luckily the Departure and Return pics of the Awing were saved. But... When summitting my Insurance Claim the agent ask for the Time Stamps on the pics. Problem is the App doesn't save a time stamp and it doesn't save a copy of the pics on your phone. Finally with some back and forth and calls to Outdoorsy it was resolved. So here's a pointer. Take all pics on your Phone and select Upload on the App.
Wow - barely functions - cannot even update the listing without receiving random errors like 'Cannot process the parameters of your request', crashes constantly... This terrible programming is costing you guys all your business. Cannot view messages sent from potential or actual renters have to text them instead.. calendar constantly messes up, etc. Somebody please hire new software developers for this app - the current team is completely wrecking the entire platform!
This site is the bomb as in it makes me want to explode! I love this concept and i rent but your mobile app and website have got to be the worst ive ever seen. I cant login or use the forgot password. You cant book campers without the screen glitching out. The movement around the app is slow. Ive had to get a laptop out evertime i want to rent a camper. Just think about the 1000's of millennials that give up on making themselves coffee in the morning.... Invest in your app!!!!
I thought it was probably me that didn't know how to use the app. But after awhile its pretty obvious to figure out that this app is not up to date. I have to check everything on my laptop. This app does not give you timely accurate notifications. It is so frustrating and it is very difficult to figure out the bookings on this app. Very disappointing.. I do not recommend for anyonr.
App is full of problems. Inbox doesnt update. crashes when uploading photos. Notifications keep repeating the same massage over and over. This app should used to teach how not to develop an app. Zero stars if I could. So far rated 2.4 out of 5 . how embarrassing
For the most part it works well. The desktop is much better. But I tend to find that with most applications. Have difficulty blocking dates on the app shows an error each time.
Probably going to try a different app/company instead. I've been trying to create a listing for about an hour and it's very frustrating. *You have to have a minimum amount of characters for descriptions but it doesn't tell you that until you're finished and then it erases everything you've typed you have to start all over. *You can only add one photo at a time *Will randomly close out the app and you have to start over again.
