Outlander PHEV remote control
It has been confirmed that a third party has tried to decode the password used by the Wi-Fi connection for the Mitsubishi Remote Control on the Outlander PHEV in order to gain unauthorized access to various car functions such as deactivating the theft alarm, turning on/off headlights and/or air conditioner, as well as changing charging timer settings.
At present no incidents regarding unauthorized unlocking of doors, unauthorized control of power switch, or leak of personal information have been confirmed; however for the time being MMC recommends customers who are concerned to shut down the Mitsubishi Remote Control following the procedure under "Remove All Registered Devices."
MMC apologizes for concerns this may have caused. MMC is now studying methods to further enhance wireless connection security.

Working all last winter, but since recent Android updates, it won't work at all. Even entering SSID and password manually gives an 'unable to register' message. It always was an awkward app to use, but now it's useless. Has the developer given any response at all, let alone a prospect of getting it working again..?
unable to use at all, it will not contact to my car, I hope mitsubishi are working on this issue, I want this app. just tried on old phone with old software and that won't work, so it's nothing to do with android versions, or Wi-Fi up dates, it has to be the car, I can smell a rat.
New phone, Android 10. Can't connect to 2015 Outlander PHEV. Cleared previous registrations, wifi network just won't hold via the app - no signal - despite Android seeing full signal. Gutted. Cant pre-warm or pre-cool the car, check charging progress etc.
since update to Android 9 app does not work. Doesn't show any wifi ssid to choose from therefore its impossible to connect. I can connect directly to car WiFi, therefore app is the problem.
After being unable to connect my Outlander PHEV to this app, I took my car back to the Mitsubishi dealership and was told that it has received several complaints from Android users about the remote control app. Then, one of its techs took my car into its garage, and after 20 minutes of tinkering around with the app and my car, even resetting the id and password for my car, he was unable to get my phone app and the car to connect. At that point, his only advice was for me to get an iPhone.
Used to be quite handy but as others have said doesn't support devices running new versions of Android so now useless! For the price of thier flagship PHEV you would expect the app to be supported for more than 3 years - watch out if you are buying used and this app has been used as a selling point. Now left with a pointless AP which is a security risk on my car.
Stopped working. I can connect to the car's wifi but the communication icon stays red, unable to send any commands. I'm well within range (3 metres).
App works well on iPhones, but having recently switched to Android I can't get this to register. I am using the correct App as my partners connects fine and works. Mitsubishi really need to sort this as I am in the market for a new PHEV and am now looking elsewhere.
Really Mitsubishi? you updated only the newer version of this app? this car was 60.000$, at this price you should be able to use it at least 5 years right? what whas the price to update also this version 100$ since the work was done for the other app and you only had to apply that fix for this one.
Had trouble reconnecting phone after reset so fixed it by selecting forget network on the WiFi settings and trying again. Worked first time. Hope this helps others.
The application does not work since the latest android update. Mitsubishi say they are not planning on updating the application. The usual mitsubishi service.
Unable to connect using Samsung Galaxy S9. Gave me grief every time I switched phone. Now I am unable to make it work despite erasing all previous connected phones.
will not work with galaxy 8, tells me yo use phev 1 remote version, which then says you should use the original version, in circles and nothing resolved, please update and fix this issue.
Couldn't connect to my old htc one. Connected alright to my ipad. Got new S9 now but that won't connect either. Wi-Fi connects but won't register.
What an absolute load of rubbish, just cannot connect to the car no matter how many times you input the ridiculously long password. Pathetic.
App doesn't respond to new Android pie update. Please fix this. you people make outlanders for 2019 also, doesn't update and fix this issues? People expect more from you, from japan, don't regret it .
Doesn't work with anything over Android 7. Considering we're now on Android 9, that means this app will not work on almost all Android phones. For a £30k+ car, this is poor from Mitsubishi.
Looks like Mitsubishi has just abandoned this App with no replacement. Just upgraded to Android 9 and the app no longer works. These PHEVs are not cheap, pull your finger out Mitsubishi and sort this poor App out
Need upgrade to new version, not function on new phone (Android 8 and higher) and other version app is no function with older car. Fail. :(
After latest Android update, app stopped connecting to my car. I can log in to cars WiFi but using app is impossible. Dev please fix this
doesn't work with my s9 or my wife's note 8. totally pointless if they don't update the app to make it work with new phones.
Just bought a 65 outlander and can't get the app to link on my S8. Tried my old S5neo. It won't work either. Come on Mitsubishi get it sorted.

phev outlander 2015 g premium / used to work great on my previous iphone x and galaxy s8 / now i switched to galaxy s9 its not connecting anymore - running android 8.0.0 - please give and update with a fix

Difficult to connect, drops connection frequently; when it does work it works well.
come on Mitsubishi, what you playing at, big selling point and it won't work any any modern phone, keeps up with the times and look after the customer you already have
Should be able to give zero stars, worthless with modern phones. What's the point in having an app for quite an advanced car that doesn't work with modern phones? It is a brilliant idea, just a shame I probably need the very first mobile phone that ever came out to use it. Something seriously needs updating. Mitsubishi, if your reading you seriously need to sort it out.
