Owlet

This product is horribly unreliable and should not be for sale. Can't even change wifi networks after completely deleting the app and reinstalling, still only recognizes the original name and password. Also, full screen doesn't work and I have to completely close and reload the app to get even the small screen back on again, or most of the time, both don't work even though every other device in my house has a connection. Kid woke-up in the middle of the night and the app won't load. Great job!

It is disappointing as the app does not work very well on Android devices. It crashes when you try to see full screen mode and then the app requires restarting when trying to go back to the home screen. I've had this issue since January and Owlet support just blames the app but does not fix it. If you have an Apple device then the app is great but if you run Android don't waste your money.

I bought this several months ago. It worked fine for the first month. Monitor did good. Now several months later when I go to the app I have to open and close it several times to even get the camera to pop up at all. I have even upgraded my wifi to see if that helped get a better connection for it to work. So I don't believe it is my wifi. I try it on my cell network and it does the same thing. When it does work it's great. The night vision is very clear and it picks up every little sound.

Excruciatingly slow. The devices take forever to be recognised when you start the app, and while the footage is of good quality, the connection to the camera is tenuous at best. In the first 30 minutes I was trying to use it, the stream loaded on my phone once. This needs a major overhaul. If it wasn't a gift, I'd return it.

Sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. Have top quality wifi in the house (only say that because we've directly complained to owlet and they have told us its because ofnthe wifi) If there's a loud sound with movement it cuts out right when you don't need it too. For the cost I should be able to use it as a primary camera, but because of the reliability it's our secondary. Though, a recent update has quelled the buffering time on load, still doesn't excuse the price/quality ratio.

This camera is very hard to configure, if you are not tech savvy, you are going to have a lot of headaches and frustration. The app is not very user friendly. Sometimes, when the camera is stops working with no reason. As right now, I have spent at least 30 min trying to reconfigure it back. I have delete the mobile app, download it again. Delete and create new profile and I still having problem to configure it. I don't recommend it at all.

2022 update, still terrible. I now have a dedicated 2.4 ghz channel and the camera can't even connect to it even if it's in the same room as the router. Money straight into the garbage. We should've gone with a different brand, severely regret buying from them and will sway everyone we know away from Owlet. There is no reason someone with very high wifi speeds and excellent connection have all these connectivity issues. This didnt just start either. It's been like this since we first used it.

Terrible app experience. The video barely loads and lags majority of the time. The camera itself is pretty good but this app needs major revamping. I have to constantly refresh the app for the video to work and sometimes only sound comes but no video. Gets really frustrating because I'm working from home and want to be able to see that my baby is okay. Please fix these issues!!!!!!!

While I like the premise of this, I find the implementation lacking and frankly getting worse. The most recent update broke the camera video entirely. I like the smart sock for peace of mind-- BUT I'm fairly confident the audio alarm on the sock itself and the base station no longer function. There is no longer an audible alarm when we remove the sock each morning before we charge it. Maybe the developer changed its behavior, but ultimately I have zero confidence in the alarm function.

Terrible. I don't understand how you can charge so much for a product that doesn't even work or last (sock stopped working at just over a year and they no longer make replacement parts so I would have to buy a whole new thing for another couple hundred.) The app is also absolute garbage and doesnt even work. Thankfully i have a back up. The camera isn't even good enough to justify any of the price you can get much cheaper wifi cameras that actually work. Trash. Not worth it at all.

The camera quality is great. I love that night vision is clear and automatically turns on. However, the long delay trying to connect to the app is ridiculous. You have to keep opening and closing it to get a connection. Full-screen hardly ever loads, it's a complete waste of time even trying. The app is the biggest issue and needs to be solved.

Camera lag is absolutely ridiculous, no notification if you lose connection to the camera, sound notifications are unpredictable regardless of sensitivity. It needs a 2.4GHz frequency connection and no special characteristics in the password. Be nice if that was in the instructions so I didn't have to contact customer service. I would return it if it wasn't a gift. We ended up buying a camera with a dedicated video monitor.

The product itself is great, but the app is pure trash. The charting is just pure laziness, as you ONLY get 10 minute averages, and can't view individual data points. There should be an option for advanced settings to view all available data, or at least change it to 1 min average. Also be aware that you can not change the thresholds of min/max O2 sats or pulse(myself finding the 220 max pulse too high).

Awful, at first it was fine but 8 months later and it just annoys me. For the price you would think it would be smooth. The camera is stuck on connecting to the wifi. I have unplugged it, restarted my phone, and restarted my wifi and it's still not working. The app is garbage. I would definitely not recommend this.

Update: after this latest app update, I am now unable to see the video at all. I'm fed up with owlet. The camera and app are both unreliable during a time when they are needed most - when our child is sleeping! I will be deleting the app and purchasing another brand. I spend more time trying to connect to the darn camera than I'm actually using it. Not happy with this product at all. Keep getting blank screen and trying to connect message. My internet connection is fine...it's an app issue.

Camera is awful. I'm constantly losing connection. It's not my internet because everything else in my house is connected and this thing always disconnects. Biggest waste of money. Another complaint, I had to Uninstall, reinstall, and create a new account because it decided to stop giving me notifications. My settings in my phone haven't changed but after I updated the app all of a sudden, no more notifications. The whole thing is awful. Only thing I like is the readings from the sock.

Camera constantly disconnects from wifi. So I have to reset it up. But my wifi doesn't go out and the camera still disconnects. This has been going on for the last year that we have had the camera. The app itself is decent but should be able to connect to the camera consistently.

Terrible. Doesn't work at all on Android - the camera toggles between 'Connecting' and 'Disconnected' with a blank screen whenever I open the app. Wifi is strong, so no issues with that - I can barely get the camera view up of my baby sleeping so entirely pointless purchase. Would return if I could!

APP DOESNT SHOW CAM IN FULL SCREEN. Doesnt work for android. Wont load and shows blank screen, and when you back out it doesnt show the cam in small screen either. When it does show the screen it glitches and freezes the frames for a while... the app works fine on my partners iPhone. An waste of time when I use my old phone (samsing) simply for a monitor and I cant even monitor my baby properly without using about half an hour of my time trying to get the app to work. My wifi is good too.

Unreliable app. I don't recommend using this. Horrible grainy picture and doesn't stay connected to the cam. You constantly have to force close the app and open again to get the picture to show up. Also my phone is constantly telling me it's consuming far too much power.

The sock itself with the base are OK, but the app is a disgrace... The base alarm goes off for low oxygen level. I got scared, checked on the baby, he was OK. 5 minutes later, after the alarm stopped, my son was back to sleep, the alarm went off on the phone... It was the same alarm with 5 minutes delay, ridiculous. Now the history does not show any records... I can see the readings, but there is no history???

Just updating to say this is the worst piece of technology I've ever used. Honestly, camera hasn't worked for months. How can the developers get away with this? Garbage. Just buy a cheap camera. It'll work better! The camera doesn't work most of the time. The app randomly stops collecting data. I have $30 cameras that work 100% of the time. It's an abomination that you spend so much money for something that works so infrequently. It's been months of these problems, not occasionally, but daily.

Been using this for a week now. The app itself needs to be closed and repoened almost every time I use it so that the camera re-syncs properly. Annoying but only takes a few seconds. The sock and camera seems to do the job as advertised. Overall a good product.

Meh.... Dont waste your time. The sock works great as long as you have placed it properly on your child.we purchased the bundle with the cam,and the cam and baby monitor app are the downfall to the system.when the app works,the camera feed is great, as Long as the sound doesn't cut out in the middle in the night. Extremely bug riddled app on Android. My wife has IOS, and it's a little better, but not much. Without fail, will need to force close app on first attempt to connect. Does not always alert on sound and motion, I often already hear by child screaming two floors below before the app has notified me of anything. Waste of time and resources, buy anything else.

Horrible app! I say app and not camera because I got this as a baby shower gift I'm trying to set it up but it doesn't. Keep in mind I'm pretty avid with tech like this. I registered through the app and just shows loading. I uninstalled it and re-installed tried to re register again and the initial password won't work. It's been 2 days and still can't get the app to work. Untill I can get this to work I'll keep it at 1 star.

I got the owlet camera as a gift and was so excited to use it. DO. NOT. BUY. IF. YOU. HAVE. AN. ANDROID. Ive read that it works great for apple products, but the app has a hard time connecting to the camera CONSTANTLY. I have great wifi, and it never says that the connection is ever better than "fair". The app quits half the time, so using it at night barely works. It's unfortunate, because the camera quality is really great.

The app gets worse and worse everyday. The camera was never stable, and connects less than 10% of the time after the latest update. The sock worked fine and now doesn't connect at all. Tried using this app from multiple devices and re-pairing everything.

Did great for a long time and out of no where the camera stopped working but you can still get notifications and hear audio all it says is connecting.... I've tried everything uninstalling,reset on back of camera, clearing cache, resetting MY phone, unplugging and starting over removing device trying again and nothing I don't understand what happened this is pointless

Not worth its price at all, at least for an Android user. It worked okay for the first couple weeks I had it, but now the video input never works anymore, and the audio input comes in and out and then stops working unless you're constantly reloading the app. I've done everything with making sure it's on the correct wifi, updating it every time, repairing the device multiple times, uninstalling and reinstalling the app multiple times, you name it. Unless there are major chances, I will toss it.
