ownCloud SMS

Doesnt work. No matter how often I try, I cannot add an account. It gets added as a nextcloud account and does not appear in this app.

Bought app, installed it, attempted to add an account and I get the following error message: "Unable to perform a HTTP Connection. Please ensure there is a web server." My Nextcloud is setup properly for HTTPS and HTTP with a valid Lets Encrypt SSL on a VestaCP / LEMP stack. I also use CloudFlare for my website, would that be the culprit by any chance? Please help and thank you.

Can't add account. Low level error. tls: no renegotiation. Nextcloud 13.0.2, all updated, and all other enabled apps working. A+ rating from Qualys SSL Labs. I have several servers aside from this one; Apache web server, mail server, Onlyoffice Document and Community server, turnserver, media server with Plex, Subsonic, and Calibre, all working and updated regularly. I purchased this app to support development, and when I did, it was working, and more features were to come, now it's not working at all for me. I pay to support all of the projects I use, and pay to remove ads. Sorry I did for this one though. How much time should I waste trying to get an app working that I will hardly use?

Please consider adding Google voice or hangouts sms support!

Syncs texts people have sent me, but not all of my replies. No names, just phone numbers. No feedback in app telling if it's even trying to work. Poor documentation. Confusing to set up. Not polished.

Keep getting no data connection errors while Nextcloud runs fine

Looks good so far but is still a work in progress and requires some inference in setting up that would be difficult for a typical user. When the app automatically connects to my already logged in nextcloud app and allows me to send SMS from the web it will be 5 stars. I paid for the app with it's limited functionality in hopes that development will continue. Also, contact names should be synced since no one remembers phone numbers anymore. Edit: What I'm referring to by contact sync is that the messages when viewed in the browser should display the name of the contact who sent the message, not just the associated phone number. I believe that is the role of this application. If it isn't, then I don't believe it will be very successful.

Seems to work well, but the onboarding process is confusing and there is no help file anywhere. Pick the ownCloud SMS account, not the Nextcloud one

Sync new messages, not old ones.

Bought this version because the fdroid version had authentication problems. Worked fine until the last two updates, Error #8: Authentication failed. Have to go back to version 0.23.0 (42) for a working copy.

Was happy with this app for a while, until recently upgrading the ocsms app on owncloud. Since then mobile app fails to connect. I guess this is going to have support dropped in favor of nextcloud?

You can tell A LOT of work has gone into this app and each version gets better. It's kindofa PITA to set up initially (ALL the OC stuff is really) but once it's all dialed in it's extremely reliable. There isn't a better way to archive texts totally offline and completely automatically. Would love to see an app that would mirror the archived texts on another device (say a tablet).

I emailed the dev and within 24 hours he had updated the app to support my phone. Very nice person and worth supporting the paid app vs the one on F-Droid.

When it works it is great. But it keeps losing the account details!

The display of my mobile broke. Luckily this app was installed. So I could still read the SMS I received. Upload works reliably. The Web app on server side will not win design prices, but it's ok. Hope triggering SMS send from OC to mobile will be implemented soon. I'm really waiting for this feature.

Its a great app for backup even in beta.

My owncloud was outdated. Uninstalling though. I thought we could SMS through owncloud, not just backup. Oh well. MyPhoneExplorer still does the job better for backing up and SMS from computers. Cheers dev. I won't refund. I'll keep an eye out for if this ever becomes more than a backup app.

Well, I thought this app will let me sync SMS messages among multiple phones, and also let me see them on my ownCloud interface. Sure it did some uploading. I can't disable the sync notification, which would only be of interest in case of a problem. However, the OC interface brought my server to a crawl. It was really slow to show some message threads, some of them with names, some with only numbers. And it took literally minutes to switch among them when I clicked on them. Also, it only shows the last (?) message of each thread, and the number of messages. Even that with wrong date. And it didn't accomplish why I purchased and installed it in the first place: didn't sync messages among devices. Which, while the description only states to sync to the server, would be quite logical, considering the whole point of ownCloud is to keep stuff in sync among multiple devices/computers. So in the end, I'd ask for a refund if I could. At least until it's fixed to an usable level.

Purchased it, couldn't get it to work, refunded. Researched and found I did something wrong, repurchased and tried again. Still no dice. No refund option. RIP

... sucked my battery dry on scheduled syncs (and push-on-receive only as well) and used 135 MB of data in 10 days. Also, disabling autosync in the account settings didn't prevent the app from trying to sync on a regular basis. I had to uninstall it for now. :/
