ownNote - Notes for ownCloud

Too bad it's not working...

I have tried this app on several occasions over the last several months and still am not able to log in to my hosted own cloud server. I could not be more certain if the accuracy of my credentials and yet get user/how incorrect or "cannot connect to server". U gave no problem syncing to through the own cloud app as well as through the browser. Would give a better review once I am able to use.

I cannot use on my Blackberry Priv, when i click New note, type in Name then go to Group, when i type in any 1 single character it will "refresh" it won't happen on my other phone or tablet. it should keep me logged in or have option to do. slowness on refresh/ after new note

It was kind of OK many months ago, but no upgrades and no support from ownCloud 10! it has more support for the Nextshit and they don't answers in Github. I'm sorry that I have to remove the app, but is not useful anymore! Many problems with certificates even a valid one. The app had potential but never evolved.

It's OK. Seems like a beta app at the moment. Writing a note while offline means your note will disappear when you go online. Notes don't sync in the background. I can create a note in ownNote on my phone, sync it to my cloud and then work away on the note on my PC. When I go back to my phone (say the next day) the note as it was when I last worked on the phone will show. It updates OK when I hit sync but why not sync once an hour anyway. There's no PIN protection on the phone. If I log out on the phone I have to enter my server name, username and password again. So this behaviour encourages me not to log out. My device is fingerprint protected so I'm not too worried. How hard would it be to give the user an option to enter an PIN though if they wanted to deter an opportunistic walk by user. I'd like to have the option of having the Groups view as my first screen. I'm going to have about 5 - 10 groups but I'll have tens or hundreds of notes. However once you're aware of those limitations I like the app. I do most of my editing on the web client on my PC. Having these notes available on the phone is nice. The client on the phone is reasonably rich and user friendly.

Works, but would be nice if adding a title was not compulsory (like Google Keep or Evernote). This is an annoying extra step if you are just trying to take a quick note. Sort by date would also be nice. It would also be nice to be able to download a version that does not require the Play Store.

Don't buy! It's nice at first but you have to be really careful! You loose notes easily! For example: When you write them off-line they seem to disapear after hitting save. When you have a note open on mobile, then you edit in the next/owncloud we interface and you open this app again on mobile, boom the old version is over the newer one and everything is gone. I don't really trust this app. Also, the logout button (Why logout anyway!?) is very close to the save button. And login in again with a 25 char password is a pita. I didn't mind spending money as this app sounded very nice but at the moment it is not worth any money. Hopefully it will get better/useful someday.

this app is really basic and there was no update since I installed it months ago. The editor is a little bumpy. The app generates http links even if there is none and there is apparently no option to remove web links (annoying). but for making quick notes it's okay 👌. just don't scale your expectations to high.

Be very careful! This app is a great demonstration what integration could be done but it has at its current state some bugs that lead to LOSS OF DATA during synchronization or if you want to write notes offline. I like that it supports categories and a WYSIWYG editor. I would really PLEASE THE EDITOR to fix just some bugs to change this app from unusable to best (owncloud) note app in the market. Its only usable to read your notes on android at the moment, wouldn't suggest to use it for taking notes.

Like many, I'm CONSTANTLY losing notes I typed up. I can't trust this thing. It's a damn shame because it looks really decent and when it actually does save it's really good. I wouldn't mind spending money on it but not if it's going to constantly keep losing notes I type up and try to save. As such, I have to give this a a 1-star rating -- what good is a product if it actually undoes the very thing it's supposed to provide you with? Fix this problem and I'll change my 1-star rating

I was offline, wrote a note and after going online and synchronization the note had dissappear! Old edit: I wish there would be creation of check list note added in future release. And of course widgets ;)

The app was middling, at best, but at least it worked. It appears to have been abandoned and no longer logs into the server at all. The fact that this was a paid app makes it that much more galling.

Not a powerful note app like onenote but does a good job. I would like to see more options/preferences for editing tables, formatting, and adding attachments. Other than that app seems to sync fine.

I have had it wipe contents of several notes with no input from me over the last few days.

With this mobile app and plugin for ownCloud you can really have decent alternative to services like OneNote, Evernote and such.

This is what was missing on my tablet, I was using it on the webbrowser but now with the dedicated app it's 100 times better.

The app has literally no settings. It is not possible to protect the app or your notes with password or code. Poorly done! Not worth to spend any money on this app. There is no support if u have a problem you are left alone. I don't understand for WHAT these people asking you to pay for!! Thief!!!!

After entering the note I hit save and then go back and then go into the note again and all text is gone. Noted entered in Owncloud does show up in the app but not the other way.

Worked ok but notes created offline will vanish. Also not supported by the latest owncloud.

Will not log into my personally hosted Owncloud version 10.0.8.5. Can not review beyond this problem. Don't buy if you keep your server up to date!

Waste of money - will not connect

I like the app and the ownNote concept, but there seems to be a conflict between the app and the ownCloud server, whereby the most recent version of the notes on the server can be overwritten by the app. I made the experience of losing 10 days of note entries that way. NOT FUNNY :-((((

Create start for a Note app. Would like to see a pull down for Groups to be selected. a share note would be nice snap picture to ownnote add a template selection list -task -shopping -Meeting notes

When I add a note while the phone is offline, it is deleted on next sync. I would like to have options to custom the interface as choose the default initial screen or group to show when open the app.

It lacks even a search function! And such a function is what I use always.

Great! But, please add widgets. I would like to have my selected note on my homescreen. Similar to Google Keep.

Good app. I appriciate the idea. Unfortunatelly, in my case app is bit out of sync, after clicking on note title in app I see different note on server. App note titles does not match server note titles. Is there any workaround or fix for this?

When inserting image into a note, it's adjusted to the screen width but with decreasing resolution, so it's hard to read the details of picture.

I will have to play around with this app for a while to see if it worth keeping. Most lacking feature is the ability to share a web page or link to the notes like you can in evernote and Google keep

Was working with owncloud 7 and stopped working with version 8. Asking for certificate.
