Absolutely one of the most helpful apps I have ever used. Finally could toss all of my .pdf lists and have one reliable source for convenience. Very nice job!
Really really informative, updated food info, in the palm of your hand. Thank you!
All my oxalates all in this app. I can use this anywhere. Especially grocery shopping. A lot of helpful tips, and ideas. A lot better than having use a piece of paper that may, or may not get lost.
So thankful for this app, easy to use and navigate quickly. If you've done any research on low oxalate diets you know the lists can vary widely with some items being regarded as low on one list to very high on another. That said, this app is a great aggregator of the standard reports from the well known medical sources. As anything health related, this isn't the end-all but a super helpful guide to help plan a better lifestyle.
So very helpful for people managing kidney stones. Since it lists the amount of oxalate present in each food, it allows the user to differentiate between foods which should be avoided completely and foods which can be eaten in moderation. It is a great supplement to my doctor's instructions.
Just started using app and it is very easy and thorough. Could be a lifesaver. Only suggestion would be is to make a search options of all the categories at once instead of having to find the specific category first.
To prevent more kidney stones I must control the oxalate in my diet. This wonderful app provides searchable food items divided into food groups, and shows the oxalate content in each. Exactly the info I need. No ads. A high number of food items is included. Highly recommend this tool.
Great resource! Especially the Master List, although I can see how the individual categories would come in handy, especially when eating away from home (someday post-Covid19!) trying to figure out which vegetables to order. Great job!
Very helpful! The prevention tips section is written clearly and captures very well all the things I have learned from many other places, but it's all right here in one spot to refer back to and get reminders as much as I need. Thank you.
Each food list needs the same unit of measurement and same portion size so we can compare the oxalate levels on a like for like basis. It would be also very good to have a filter option so I can narrow down high oxalate foods and low oxalate foods in each category.
After having 2 Kidney Stone surgeries within one year my doctor switched me to a Low Oxalate diet. I nearly starved. Not knowing what I could or could not eat. This app saved me. Easy no confusing contradictions. I showed it to my doctor. He immediately wrote down the name to suggest to other patience. Thank you so much!! App is my constant and dear friend!
Just started following my oxalate intake. I found it difficult to follow, food oxalate content, till I found this app. It is exactly what I wanted and it serves its purpose well. Thank you very much! Ps. I would like to make a suggestion. Maybe you could add a low oxalate recipe section, where everyone in the community to be able to provide input and recipes. I know for sure i could use some fresh ideas! 😀
The list is enormously helpful so thank you. On the negative side, unfortunately, the search section doesn't work well. You need to add the word exactly as written in the list. For instance, add "banana" and there is not a listing for "banana." It's listed under "Banana - 1 fruit."
Seems like a good app and gives a great list of foods. My only negative is that I thought it would have had a chart or food journal built in so that my foods eaten could be listed and calculate the mg of oxolates, rather than me having to physically write them down.
Easy to use, links to original sources and clean layout. Denise keeps adding more information that really matters. Love the breakdown of tomatoes in a separate section!
Such a handy and helpful tool in navigating a low oxalate diet!
Good list of foods with their oxalate content. I take one star off because one section of the app recommends limiting red meat to 3 ounces a day, though red meat contains 0 oxalates. When I stay with mainly a meat based diet I do not develop kidney stones. This is coming from a person who has suffered with them for 25 years.
Having all of this information at your fingertips makes eating healthy while on the go easier. Oxalate info is kept relatively up to date with the last update listed in the category. Great app!
This is is very informative but it would be more helpful if each food was listed as low, moderate or high on a scale as a quick reference to whether or not it would be a good choice to eat in regard to your daily diet in avoidance of creating kidney stones.
Super helpful! After passing my first kidney stone I never want to go through that again. This app has helped me find things I can eat, as I was literally starving myself in constant fear of the possibility of getting another stone !
Contains lots of helpful oxalate control information, FAQ, a large list of oxalate food values organized by food groups, all in an easy to use app. I especially like the master list and its search functionality.
I'm so excited to find this app!! As a diabetic I already watch my food intake and drinks. But I recently was diagnosed with Lichen Sclerosis and my Mother was told she was in Stage 4 Liver Failure. With this app I can confer with my diabetic doctor and my dietitian on any other changes to my and my Mom's diet. We rarely eat out; our foods are 99% homemade. Including making biscuits & dough. But on the special occasions that we do eat out, this app will make our choices easier to make.
This app was really really good until just recently when they updated the format. Now you can't find simple items in the master list (ie, macadamia nuts, coconut flour). I dont use this app at all anymore.
I'm quite pleased with this app! • big print, easy to read • has most everyday foods listed • most Mediterranean diet foods listed • oxalate content seems accurate • it's easy to use • no ads interrupting my concentration • it's pretty lol (A big thank you to the developers! It's so nice not to have to dig around PDF files on my phone to consult oxalate lists. Our household has to combine the Mediterranean diet with low oxalate content and this app makes it sooo much less of a headache!)
I asked Denise for specific information that I could not find anyware. Denise did a very thorough search and found the in's and out's of my question. Her response was very detailed and most helpful. I also very much appreciate Denise's Oxalate App which my urologist suggested I utilize! And I do so every single day and don't know what I would do without it's easy access and instant information. Thank you so much for all that you do Denise! Terry Carley
Great list! Very helpful to me. Doc just said to stay away from spinach, beets and almonds.
Having polycystic kidney disease this app is invaluable and saves a lot of time to quickly look up and make food choices, thank you!
This app is incredibly helpful for anyone on a low oxalate diet.
What a great app! I've had a multi page Excel spreadsheet on my phone, but these lists are useful, including common foods and a lot of good reminders and refreshers. As a busy mom with a tendency to form stones, I honestly need to go back and be reminded. This app is laid out clearly and intuitively and I am so thankful that the developer took the time to create this!
