This app is usable at best. However, on a Pixel 2, it is generally slow and unresponsive, and very occasionally crashes, making a poor experience. It is not always clear how accurate the bus times are, and it doesn't appear to be particularly good at locating the nearest bus stop (necessary for bus times). Although I can use it with some success to buy tickets and see bus times (basic functionality), doing this appears to be pushing its capabilities.

The worst problems with the first versions having been fixed, the experience with this app is still consistently poor. The lack of responsiveness is a real problem when you're trying to get on a bus. One really annoying feature is the "Network connection regained" toast message which completely blocks the controls to activate a new ticket and which inexplicably stays there indefinitely! My phone already tells me whether it has a network connection or not. Devs - please get rid of that! 🙏

Utterly slow and unreliable app. Freezes and crashes all the time. It takes about 5 minutes to get from initial screen to activating a ticket. Shoes ticket expired in less than 10 mins since activation. Shows "network connection lost" and "gained" all the time. Shows "read" bar when it happens bewildering the usersn't know what to do with.

I was charged double three time in a row. It is very annoying, I have used the app 4 times and the last three attempts to activate a ticket showed me "ticket expired" message. When I tried again it worked, but I was charged twice for the same trip! I have paid a double price for a ticket 3 times already! I am not going to use it again.

Only works some of the time. I buy a pack of 12 journeys and it has recently been charging me two tickets for one journey. With each update, there seems to be a new bug. Often freezes and won't display the ticket, leading to awkward situations with the bus I've already flagged down. Needs work!

This app is truly awful. Half the buses aren't on here. Some are on as scheduled rather than tracked (i.e. it will only tell you when they are supposed to turn up). And some of the supposedly tracked buses are completely functional and turn up 10 minutes before or after, or not at all. Some of them are on the map, some not. Unreliable information is worse than none at all. Surely we can do better in the 21st century.

This app has so many glitches and often takes too long to load leaving you face to face with impatient bus drivers hoping the app will hurry up! This morning it crashed totally leaving me unable to use it, my only option was to reinstall it. This fixed the problem however in the process dumped £10 worth of tickets. I've asked for advice from Oxford bus company only to be told that they app is run by a third party. I'm currently running it on android but encountered similar problems when on ios.

Needs good signal to activate ticket _ why can't this be managed inside app? Too slow to activate, 10 min allowed after activating too short a time to do far in advance so frequently keeping bus driver waiting. Ate my last ticket. Will use for maps of bus stops but buy paper tickets. :-( update: Have to turn wifi off at bus as it tries to connect, also turn off nfc as it gets confused. I'd consider using app if the activation was done in app without needing signal. Paper for me better.

Hopeless app. The actual stops aren't loaded on the app which means that everything you type in (e.g. Marylebone Road, a stop in London) brings up something else with extra bus journeys for which tickets aren't available. I just wanted to be able to book seats/journeys on the X90 and the Airline buses! Not possible apparently...

app kept crashing and resetting. after i bought my ticket on the app, there was a big blue button that said 'activate' i pressed it and received a warning asking if i was sure i wanted to activate, because i would only have twenty minutes to get on a bus before it expired. so i chose 'no' because my bus trip was not until the next morning. of course when i go to activate my ticket the next day, it says that my ticket had already expired and had been used the night before. app needs work

Doesn't work, as far as I can tell. The tracked times bear absolutely no relationship to the displays at the stops, or indeed the published timetables. Lothian buses have had an app that does this, reliably, for about a decade.

If you sign up and press no to recieve emails you then dont get the activation code sent through to be able to complete the sign up. Had to use different email address as i could not ammend this option without signing in. Which i could not do. Catch 22. Missed buses and a useless phone call. Edit - the emails did come through. Just 20 mins later. Not ideal when in a hurry.

Never works when I need it to and I've wasted £60 on tickets as a result Update: this app is still a dumpster fire. Crashes on browsing tickets. Crashes when opening my tickets. Crashes when saving places. It feels like it's encouraging me to NOT use this app so I have to buy the more expensive tickets in person

This is the worst app ever created. It's not helpful at all, bugs, the purchased tickets disappear, bus stop are not existing on the app... Seriously, we are close to 2019 this ap can't be real. Better to get to Oxford by train fellas.

Very annoying . Keeps crashing and no option cor a child single. And its oh so conveniently very easy to accidentally click buy a ticket and it automatically goes through and won't let you take it back.

irritating user experience, it crashes doesn't retrieve purchased and activated tickets or fails to display QR if you buy for off peak and put it in the wallet outside of those hours despite then activating at off peak it tells you you can't use it... in short dismal UX...

Very buggy on Android, compared to the iOS version, but both are unintuitive. Also be aware that Oxford has several bus companies, Stagecoach appears to be more common than Oxford Bus Co, but this app isn't accepted on all buses.

Do not get this app for going to London it is totally useless. I accidentally got on the wrong bus & activated my ticket & by the time the right bus came it had expired & I had to buy a new ticket. No refunds! The app didn't show me where the bus stops were, what time the bus was arriving & in the end cost me more money than had I just paid with my contact less card when I got on the bus. Can see no reason for a 20 minute activation time for a ticket you have purchased.

App showed errors when trying to purchase; everything went through eventually, despite the app telling me it had failed... The OBCAPP discount code listed on the website doesn't work either, which is not the end of the world but really frustrating.

Yri. Feb 24, 2020

The app takes a long time to load and frequently loses the signal. When selecting a pre-bought ticket, I need to select the activate button up to three times before the app reacts.

Used to be good. Lately (even after updating) when i activate the ticket no qr code is shown. Bus driver tried to make me buy another one but luckily I talked them out of it by showing the countdown. I have now taken to showing them as I press activate and most accept that. I will be switching to Oxford Tube once my 12 tickets are used

Won't install on my tablet or my wife's phone, so have had to set up two accounts on my phone and will need to switch between them when boarding the bus together - and hope there is a phone signal! Why can't I just buy tickets for both of us on my account? The app is supposed to make life easier, not harder!

Oh dear... Where do I start? Tried on two phones, Moto One and Samsung A40. Attempted to plan a journey & buy ticket from Oxford to Heathrow. Results: 1. No journey found (although it was sketched on the map!); 2. No data connection (phone on home WiFi) 3. After numerous retries, got a "plan" to leave home at 17:20 in order to arrive by 17:00(!!), walk for 3 minutes and catch a bus towards city centre at 15:07!? 4. Finally, the cheapest ticket offered was £77!! Uninstalled.
