Requires storage permissions, even though no data is cached offline unless using the paid version. Slow to perform lookups. Requires manual switch between English/Spanish instead of autodetect. Free version has obstrusive and frequent ads. I recommend the SpanishDict app. It is more user friendly, more responsive, has fewer ads in it's free version, and does not require unexplained permissions. A far better experience.
If I can't type 'hombre' into the search bar as a test and find the word straight away this isn't a very helpful dictionary! 30 day trial period seems unnecessary for a dictionary as well, got an add in the first minute of trying to navigate around. Will look for a simpler translation app that can help with noun genders in a more elegant fashion.
I wish these apps that do advertisements while you're using them and therefore make revenue would offer the full program with advertisements. Anyone who can afford or wants to work with the full program without advertisements can still pay but I don't see why you can't get the full program while continuing to watch the advertisements which provide funding for the company
This app is nice. But I gave it a one star, because it would be nice if every word, and the "word of the day" (in "English to Spanish" mode) would have a description of the words. Many listed words lack descriptions. This need to be corrected.
Im sure the paid version is great but within a minute of turning this app on i was bombarded with ads and requests to pirchase the full version. Lets get through the first date guys. I didnt find the results of my first search to be very helpful either so have fun but ima delete this app right away
I am very happy with the app, worth the price. But using it offline means downloading a lot of megs to memory. All my other apps of any size are programmed to support moving to SD card. Would love it if this one did!
This is a nice dictionary, but it would be great that it had the option "Starting with dictionary" to start with dictionary immediately when I open it like Oxford Dictionary of English, and not "Home", which has lots of distractions. Thanks
Before we type a Spanish word we have to switch the languages, if not the app doesn't know what to do. This is unacceptable for an Oxford dictionary, even a free dictionary knows that we're typing a Spanish word instead of an English one, and the app is not as good as the paper dictionary.
accessible. v.easy to navigate and links work well. Lots of useful e.g.s of word in context. V. useful list of 'words recently lookef up' on home page which helps revision at end of study session.
Totally disapointed... After paying for the premium I realized than is imposible organize the favorite terms in folders because when you restart the app it changes every term and even unfavorite some of them.
$10 for the ad free-offline version. Gives examples, definition, and translation. This application is easier and less problematic than online dictionary translators.
Would expect way more from oxford. Its cheap and unorganised. Doesnt give conjugations or anything. Pretty terrible.
Does not let you see or read the translation, it closes automatically, if you don't buy the app for $9.99. Uninstalled, I prefer to use Google translator... thanks
I try to look up a word. It keeps giving me a popup to update and pay for premium. I decline that and then it boots me out of the app everytime.
This lacks definitions of the base verbs which makes it mostly useless. The other definitions are ok but you also need to search through possible options. It's not designed well
Too invasive and. persistently asking for permission to access my other files, photos, etc. Sending unwanted Ads to my phone and wasting my time!
This is the best Spanish dictionary app that I have tested. But please, add syncronization so we can get our favorited words to our new device.
Keeps selling me to premium version though I have bought it already. This bloody app has decided it is connected to my second mail address, the one I never buy anything from
Trash. While yes, it does work, you need to buy it for $10 just to use it. Not worth the memory space guys.
A very useful dictionary with excellent contextual examples, especially for idioms.
it will be more beneficial for students and learners if it have pronunciation of both languages.
I am annoyed with this dictionary since I have to pay for it. It is only a 30 day free trial. So I have put uninstall.
Well it's so interesting and educative app since I have started with this app my Spanish has absolutely increased Moreover I want you people to know that you have dobe a gigantic job here because you are educating a lot of people in the all over the globe
I love the word of the day, they're always uncommon words so it's like a deep dive into Spanish.
Fantastic dictionary, the only problem is the IPA. Change it for what it's use in paperback dictionary
The apps take over your whole screen. Difficult to close them.
Terrific app. This dictionary provides more information than any others on Spanish.
There's room for improvement: (1) Have it recognize words in English or in Spanish without having to switch directions; (2) When the same word is a noun, adjective, adverb (e.g. bien) it would be useful to list all the meanings on the same page, as opposed to numbering them and having to go back for each one; (3) Expand your database. This may not be an app issue, but since this is a paid app, it's worth mentioning that there are many free online dictionaries with a lot MORE entries.
