I wish the time could be updated immediately so that a person can know how much to rush in order to be within the two hour transfer time limit. Yesterday, I was 1 minute past the two hours, and therefore charged an extra fare. If I had known that, then I could've used the second fare charge to stop and shop for a few things and still get on. I basically got screwed and feel that I should get a refund. The time of entrance should be updated right away like a bank does. Hope this helps. Thanks.
initially when i installed this app, i had no issues. however, after about 1 month i noticed the card amount info was not being updated as regulrly as i needed. then it stopped updating all together as of nov30th - As of today's date, it just started working again. i dont know who is managing this interface or what the partnership is between the dev.team and metrolink's servers, but there is a definite disconnect - in every sense of the word. that's what requires attention IMO
It is good application to check your balance, however, it would be better if 1- allow instantaneous transactions/balance update 2- allow to add credit to account. One other idea to work on, is to have in same app or create new one to notify announcements updates on trains/buses activities like delays/arrivals/cancellations, etc. and that one could be planner application as well
The reason why its less is because this app is not ready at all. I usually do the monthly pass, and there is no option on this app to choose or find out the information of that. On the other side, its very incomplete. You cannot look for stuff. The only thing one can do is check balance and that too is not correct sometimes.
Updated: Cannot sign in. Cannot add funds on app. Go onto website on mobile, I cannot auto fill my credit card. Don't want to take out credit card on bus and input. Will have to wait until home to do and then wait 24 hours to load. Also the app did not alert me at my set low balance indicator. Useless. Also, no I won't go through Metrolinx. Bad user experience.
Not a reliable app. I trusted it to tell me when I was low on funds. It didn't warn me. It can be useful if we could add funds through it and if it actually gave proper warnings when funds are low. Until this app is updated, it's useless.
It works well enough, but you only have the choice of a version with ads. There's no option to pay for ad free, so I ditched this in favour of Presto Companion. For now PC appears to be ad free.
Allow instant updates or else this is not a useful app. I would have thought like all other apps it would update Live. Especially when using transport. If I'm not near a station to check the balance on a machine this app is no good to me.
Poor functionality (only showing activities and cards balance even with late updating!), no menu, no top up possible, no travel planner - quite a let down... Hint: have a decent look at AU Sydney's OPAL app - it's doing nicely!
App crashed several times and I had to uninstall and then reinstall then clear the cache before it started to work again. It would be a great idea to be able to uodate the card balance using NFC.
It only shows you your card balance. Which is useless because it takes 3-4 days for it to update. Because there aren't card readers at every bus stop, and sometimes I forget to read my balance on my card when I tap it, I need this app to update my card balance within seconds of me tapping it, just like the Tim Hortons or Starbucks app. So that needs to be fixed. You also need to allow us to add money onto our cards like we can online.
The app works well in providing the status in the morning the next day. But same limitation as on the web site. some times the information te usage is not up to date but it seems as though the total money on the card is correct. i do like being able to quickly check the current status in the morning so that i can add finds if necessary.
It doesn't update, doesnt show transactions and when you add money and does not let me add from the app. It's like the TTC; exists and somewhat convenient while simultaneously being frustrating, illogical and an utter waste of time.
It's a good app to view your balance but it desnt give you the option to add more funds onto your account. Presto needs to update that option soon so that people don't need to go to a customer service desk or do it online with the funds getting uploaded with a 24 hour delay.
I feel like I spent more money than metropass, everytime I went to machine to load my pass it took away my 3 bucks for no reason. I'm really fed up of all the fees that presto charges, it isn't convenient at all. takes such a long time to upload the money, and sometime when I board the bus it would tell me I have no money left in the pass, even though I literally loaded my pass 24 hours ago. i really think this system isn't working at all.
It's always freezing. Didn't tell me when I was low even though I had a warning level set. Trying to find out balance and keep giving me the spinning wheel. Not impressed.
It just sign me out and i can't sign in. This is very frustrating i rely on this app to know when i might need to top up no i have to go to the website on the laptop and computer everytime i need to check they really need to have like a seperate backend from Metrolink because this is the reason why you guy get very bad reviews.
While I understand that if the central database is not updated then this app cannot show the latest entries of card activity, but then, really, what's the point of having the app when you cannot access this particular info? No real-time updates on card activity, fine... But no update within the past 2h? i.e.Do I have time to go to this store or I should just hop on the tram before I get charged again? Oh well...But not even an update about activity that occured 5h ago because it's the weekend?
Definitely appreciate the effort to come up with this app. While Metrolinx charges its customers $6 just for the Presto card but could not even come up with such a basic app, individuals like you put the time and effort to develop this app. I loaded my card yesterday at a TTC station and the machine showed me the new balance. But the Presto card.ca, the official metrolinx website didn't update until this morning. Your app obviously relies on metrolinx database for updates and cannot be held responsible for lazy updates from metrolinx. Metrolinx should stop charging the customers $6 for the card until they can come up with their own app and have instant updates from the Presto machines to their database and website. Thanks for the app.
Infuriating app! When it does work, it is very handy. However, it constantly has issues. Randomly signed me out and wouldn't allow me to sign back in or recover my account.
Comes handy when you need to check balance only. However, takes longer time to update or display the information. Cannot upload balance through the app. It's just better to visit the website on phone and check and upload the balance - quicker than this app.
this app constantly has so many glitches. It's a good app, but it would be beneficial if the app made it a default setting to give the user notifications when their balance is low because reloading online takes up to 24hours. I like that the app allows you to see your transit history, but it is really inconvenient that the balance notifications don't work (at least for me). I've tried to figure it out several times, but it never notifies me. Lately, it's not letting me sign into my account!
