This FREE all-inclusive outdoor guide was created in a collaborative effort between the Pennsylvania State Parks & Forests and ParksByNature Network®, and the next generation of the app is better than ever.

Has no way to search for a specific topic. App & pages load slow.
Just downloaded the app. It crashes when I try to utilize the map. And that's on wifi. They're very clear when you first open the app that it is not to be utilized as an actual map and they have no liability or responsibility regarding accuracy or use. So, uninstalled.
App crashes every time I try to launch it. I used this app on old phone a few years ago and loved it. Doesn't work now on my note 4.
Kept crashing when I would try to search for a park.
Downloaded it and it crashed 3 minutes later. What? Who designed this? Oh I know, the low cost bidder. SMH
Basically unusable. Constantly freezes and crashes.

Navigation is bad and speed of refresh is awful.
Good idea, but the app is SOOOooo bloated and slow that it is pretty much useless. If you get lost in the woods, your better off eating your phone than relying on this app to function.
Easy fun mother nature outdoor adventures @ low cost. Enjoy & Don't be afraid to find wildlife.
Constant crashes and ads.
I love this app, it's really nice to have when you're trying to plan a trip or are already in a park. The only thing missing from this app is the ability to get maps when you're offline (the maps are not built into the app). Sometimes you don't think you'll need a particular map, and then you do and without cell service or wifi there's no way to get it, which can be a problem.
Handy app for quick info on the parks. Found it helpful for planning a day trip. As for the negative complaints I've read on here, I had no problems with the ads. They were always small and unobtrusive. Perhaps because I'm using a newer 5 inch screen smartphone, or maybe they updated the app.
This app is usefully, but I feel it's in need of an update. It keeps crashing, many of the maps and images won't load, and oddly enough, some of the parks will be named in one region online, and another on the app. Some parks won't even show up on the app. This would be great if I could only use it.
I don't know what people are expecting from this app , but it works just fine and runs great. I use it to help find a plethora of parks on different levels , and it does that just fine. I haven't found an app yet that people give it more than 1 star. I guess they will never be happy. LOL
Junk, crashes constantly when you choose any menu item. Just not a usable app. I even uninstalled and reinstalled without any change. The app has a lot of great potential but it's no good when you can't use it.
The app crashed 5 times within less than 5 minutes of installing it, whenever I clicked on the main page. How disappointing; I'd love to be able to use this. Currently, it is useless to me and will be uninstalled.
I read all the reviews, but I thought perhaps the app simply did work with version A...so, I tried it. I'm deleting it. I had the app on for about 5 minutes. It went to a full screen ad and froze.
The app is fun for exploring parks virtually. It stops pretty frequently, and I'm hoping for a few more trip- planning features, like an advanced search, but it's been helpful overall.
I like the idea and it looks good, but after a few taps it tries to launch a full screen ad and crashes.
Every time I try to use the app I get a full page add for thermocell. It can not be closed and the app can not be accessed under it. I need park info not to be forced onto some third partys website. Deleting.
The ad pops up and controls the screen. It cannot be closed to get to the app.
Never even opens. Two different phones, Lexus and Moto; doesn't work. "Pocket Ranger has stopped". It never even starts! Why does the DCNR stay associated with this.
App currently almost unuseable as a full screen rotatiin image covers the screen. I think it may be broken. I had hoped it would allow me to look at which parks are where and click in for details about each. It did not seem to allow this. I will now uninstall and use the web. Hopefully the developers will fix it, and I'll reinstall.
Every time I try to search for a park it shuts down. Useless to me. Such a disappointment.
