Love this app! Used it to pace the Norwegian Ruck march (18.6 miles with 25lbs pack in full military uniform in less than 4 hours 40 minutes). This app was awesome at keeping me on pace. I really love the feature that tells you each mile how much time you are ahead (or behind) your pace. Really helpful further into a race when you slow down.
Exactly what I needed! Simple to set up, and works with Pandora running. I get my music and pace. Highly recommended!
This app does exactly what I need. I use it daily for training so I can set the pace for various sessions and the "achieve planned time" assistant mode for races. Fantastic. The only improvement I'd love is front screen buttons to switch between assistant modes, rather than having to dig into settings to make this change. Wish I could pay for an ad free version too.
I LOVE THIS APP! I tell it the distance I want to go and the time I want to do it in, and it tells me through my earbuds every 1/8th mile how much ahead or behind schedule I am. I can still play music using my music app, and this app mutes the music while it's speaking. My Apple-using running buddies are bummed out that it's not available for them. Can't recommend highly enough! Thank you!
This is a VERY bare bones app that does everything I want it to: map run, save stats after the run, give me periodic pace & distance stats during the run. It took awhile to find something to replace the formerly great apps like Runkeeper and Runtastic that are now just nagware, requiring additional info (like a facebook connection) or money to use, but after trying out a handful of "free" apps, this is the best one. If you want a social network built into your running app, or a million bells and whistles, this isn't for you.
Pace Control is a simple and great app to keep control of your pace during your runs. it has clear information dashboards and colect key performance data, which can be compared and reviewed at any time. it would be great if it could record my heart rate coming from my fit bit. But by no means this is a problem to me. I definitely intend to keep using it and keep improving my run.
Very useful audio pacing. Tried the app at walking pace to get used to it. For a 5k run, set it to a fast tiarget time, with audio updates every 1/8th mile. Used it with a running armband and wired earphones. Set the volume fairly high. The audio tells you the pace for the last 1/8th mile, e.g. 4:18 per km, and "3 seconds behind pace" or whatever. Just what I needed. Did push me on to achieve a fast time. The summary stats and map of the run were excellent. GPS requires good signal in the open.
I had been considering developing an app that would give audio feedback about pace during my runs. I decided to see whether such an app already existed and discovered pace control. It is exactly what I was looking for. I recommend going into settings to select how are you want these control to function. My only complaint is that in the extended piece report it says "current pace", and then reports the pace for the cumulative miles. I wish it would say "cumulative" instead of "current".
Excellent app, I find race assistant particularly helpful (I tend to go off too fast, this feature keeps me running at the right pace from the very start). It would be great though if I could profile my assistant's pace for my favourite hilly 5k course. Also would be good to record a run then play that back as the assistant, a coach could thus set a perfect run for a trainee to try to mimic.
I really like it - it does exactly what I need it to do, that is telling me my speed and keeping stats on runs (time, distance, speed, splits, etc.). I've been trying to run slower (to build up distance) and this has been super helpful. Have been using it for several months, have not had any issues.
Stopped working 2-3 days ago. It worked great &now no pace data or correct milage. Please fix this. I can't fly & it jumps from one place to another.
Simple, unobtrusive and useful. Voice feedback isn't as feature rich and MapMyFitness premium, but this app has been very useful in my training to achieve predictable pace. Map and data recorded is useful for post workout review. Id love to see integration of more environmental variables including biometrics (at least pulse) from Google Fit connected devices. Highly recommend the product.
this app is good. has almost all the features that other popular apps like runtastic have. used it a few times for my runs and for a race for the pace setter feature - it was the time when i had issues in activating my runtastic paid subscription. compared the results with runtastic and they were consistent, 2-3 seconds difference in a few 1km splits, but overall consistent. should say a pretty good app.
This app does everything I wanted it to do. It keeps an accurate record of my mileage, plus the app tells you verbally how fast you are going so I never have to look at it during the workout. It records split times per mile and keeps a log of all workouts so you can go back and measure your progress over time.
This is an excellent app which lets to pace your run by letting you know how far you've gone - and whether that km was slow or quick for your target. It would get 5 stars from me if I could change the shrill voice to a simpler "1K" ... "2K" ... etc, and/or a vibration every km/mile - as an option.
I use this when running in place of a running watch. It was stopping all the time, which was aggravating. Thanks to support, I have turned off battery optimization for this app and believe that will fix the problem. I will check when I run tomorrow.
Didn't work. Downloaded this app to help one of my soldiers with the 2 mile run of their fitness test. The route is exactly 2 miles, at the end of the run app said we ran 3.8 miles at a 6.5 mile pace. We ran at almost a 10 minute pace. This app was NOWHERE even in the ballpark of close. Can't imagine how you mess up a app this bad. You get what you pay for and this app is free.
Pace Control has made a huge difference to my 5k runs. As a newbie runner 'listening to my body' for pace advice would have resulted in me stopping immediately and going to the pub. This app has helped me focus on target times and progressive runs. I knocked 3 minutes off my time in the 1st week I used it. love it.
Pace control has been one of the most useful tools in managing my pace whilst training for races. It works with my music, keeps me informed on stats and maps my runs. You can't find better convenience with this level of simplicity. Indispensable.
works well. i have had infrequent problems with the app losing the current workout before I got home from a run. It is great that it gives you your fastest times for various distances; you can warm up before running a few miles fast.
I use with every run which helps me to achieve my target. I find the audio updates useful and have been able to easily play around with switching between distances and from Miles to Kilometres. Really useful app.
The best app I've found and only one which has 3 kind of assistance: target pace, prediction of finish time and achieving planned time. It is very convenient. No app has such functionality for free.
Absolutely everything you could need in a running app + not constantly hustling you to subscribe. Wish there was an option for a (£5>=?) one-off payment to go ad-free, but otherwise v happy.
Started using this app when I decided to train for a half marathon. This app has been an integral part of my training and improvement. Highly recommended if you plan to start long distance running seriously and need proper pacing analysis and support. Big thumbs up !!
Very nice app! If it's possible, please make the app beep (multiple beeps, preferably) when running at a lower pace. I would like, for instance, to set 6 min/km and if I run slower, to be notified instantly. Thanks anyway!
