I used this app as well as the other more popular one, but HikerBot definitely wins in map quality, map coverage exiting the PCT, following other trails for detours and to hike into town, it shows tent sites that are not always included on the other app. I wish more people used HikerBot as what is lacking is more user comments. Regardless, it was very helpful to have.
How about having a pro version? The app is locked for download. It doesn't seem to work, if you don't pay a fee. Make it clear, put your things together, have a pro version, and don't pretend to offer a free app, that does not work. It's very frustrating and not honest in my book...
App states it's downloading but over several weeks, doesnt download anything. Emailed devolper and no response since 2 months ago. I really enjoyed Hikerbot with the offline maps during my hike and switched to a newer phone but neither of HikerBots apps download offline PCT maps anymore.... Bummer.
Dear developer, I really love this app. However it appears it went defunct after 2018. I used this for 900 miles of the trail and hope to use to finish in 2020. This app had more info and trail points then guthook. Please update and keep it going!
Used to be pretty handy. Now it doesn't seem to be supported anymore. That's too bad. I only get the message "unable to contact server..." when I try to use it and nothing syncs anymore.
Great when all functions work. I am unable to sign in my Gmail to use this app to irs fullest potential, I'm getting "unable to reach server" message, I'm sure it's a simple fix! But would love it if I got some answers / solution.
Didn't work. Took about 6 hours to download a map and then it kept saying syncing. (Yes I know bandwidth costs money, but come on) Unusable.
I paid for maps to download but nothing works. Unknown error is what I get. Give me my money back. Wrote several messages but they don't even have the decency to respond.
Will not let me sign in with Google. The map is pretty cool though. It shows every very important resources.
Best topo maps compared to guthooks. Look at the upcoming section while you have a good wifi signal.
Confused as to why the app has been "synching" for several days. Complete functions await download, but will it ever complete? Hopes for this app await solution
it's not syncing my trials I purchased one of them it's been 24 hours and still hasn't completed download
Dont have Guthooks and I'm almost halfway on my Sobo through hike. PCT app has given me all the information on water conditions and campsites without a bunch of useless comments. Thank you PCT..... You-haul, Sobo 2019.

It never worked for me. I ended up with paper maps. But won't use it again.
had to uninstall because i can't sign in and always trying to sync.

I like to use it in combination with halfmile.
It's a great tool for every Hiker oit there and it is alot of fun to keep the up to date. Unfortunately I cannot add new waypoints and I haven't found any troubleshooting yet.
Works great even without cell service, follows the trail accurately
Hikerbot has potential, but currently for me at least, its unusable. This app has been syncing for 2 days now and hasnt stopped or seemed to make any progress. Downloading offline maps is impossible. I understand that the speed is throttled for free/unpaid versions but the app says it is waiting for a network when the device has a functioning wifi connnection. It would take months to download anything. I hope this app improves.
