You can also use Package Browser's Storage Access Framework (SAF) provider to read installed APK's and assets into other apps.

The same every time. I'll go out on a limb, and say this is the most un-sung app in the entire Android realm as of yet. It's for someone like myself, "too old to live, too young to die", see this and fully appreciate its functionality. GENX_OUT, X' & O'.
I gave this a try after Apk Analyzer became adware. This one isn't as pretty, but it gets the job done. Wish it at least showed icons for apps.
So far like it, but I'm also not very savvy, I don't spent much time on cell tho busy with life. I wished the you could delete some apps it shows you tho.
Nothing but a black screen using dark mode on Pixel Experience rom and Substratum.

(2018.03.28) This is only ok at what it DOES do. However, I'll make 3 suggestions to make this thing even better. 1) When I first opened/read an XML file with this, I THOUGHT that it didn't open it at all, because all I saw (at the top) was the NAME of the file, & there was no scroll "bar/line" to indicate that the file was longer than what was shown on screen. For non-short files, there should be a scroll bar/ line to indicate that there is more of that file than is being displayed. Also, an opened file should look DIFFERENT (VERY different) from when you're just browsing inside an apk, because otherwise their identical appearances can cause confusion about whether this app has either succeeded or (silently) failed to open a file. 2) There are some files inside apk's (example = arsc) that it cannot open at all. Hopefully, that will get updated. 3) This is limited to ONLY being able to open/ read files that are INSIDE APK files. You should let this app find & open/ read files even if they're NOT inside an APK.
A must have for any/all android users from the technologicaly inclined to the tech whizz, there is a little bit of something in here for everyone. Just what I was expecting... Another awesome app made by 4A. Thank you Dev(s) Detailed package specifics; permissions, intent, broadcast receiver, very informative and contains far more useful details than any other app.., ,..and a WHOLE LOT MORE!!!

In my opinion every device should have this accessibility readily available! It seems to me no questions asked that your availability to have access to everything in your device should be available at your finger tips! Any way ill quit my bitchin' and end with, Thanks for creating this app so i can have available what I've always wanted with any of my devices,FULL ACCESS without having to root! After going through an incredible amount of apps that always failed to deliver. I was amazed how extensive the breakdown of imformation was. Immediately after believing it must be to good to be true. Spent quite sometime looking for any flaws can now gladly admit I was wrong. Provides a wide variety of information on apps, permissions, activities etc as promised. With a very simple layout learning/use is quick and easy! Thank you to the developers this is truly a diamond in the ruff!
