PadCAD CAD Drafting

PadCAD is an easy to use CAD application designed for small drafting projects such as home additions, small remodeling projects and site surveys. With PadCAD, anyone can produce clean, clear drawings and export them to a professional CAD application like AutoCAD. PadCAD was designed with ease of use, speed and mobility in mind and is not a full blown CAD application. For small drafting or construction projects, it just works. PadCAD is ideal for general contractors, small architectural firms, appraisers and real-estate professionals. People looking for a simple CAD app to help with their small remodeling projects will find PadCAD to be the ideal drafting solution. PadCAD has a shallow learning curve and is specifically designed for people with little or no previous experience with CAD software or drafting applications. PadCAD does not require an internet connection, except when you export a drawing. PadCAD can export drawings as PDF, DXF or image files (PNG format). This app requires a MINIMUM resolution of 960 x 540.
PLEASE NOTE: PadCAD is free to download and use, but to save or export your drawings you will need to upgrade the app. A one-time fee of $14.99 will be charged for the upgrade.Once upgraded, you can save or export any number of drawings as many times as you wish.

Main Features :

1) Intuitive finger-based drawing and editing: Draw walls with your finger, then adjust them by dragging or stretching them.

2) Fine-tune controls: For greater precision, every element can be fine-tuned with numeric values for any of its attributes. Simply double-click an element to fine-tune it.

3) Unlimited Undo and Redo: Made a mistake? Made more than one? Tap the Undo button as many times as you need and start over. You can Undo all the way back to the beginning of your session or Redo to your current state. Don't you wish life had an Undo button?

4) Take Pictures: You can photograph the area you are sketching and associate it with your floor plan. A photo icon is placed within your drawing to remind you where your picture was taken. Double-clicking the photo icon displays the full image. This makes it easy to remember which picture goes with which area of the floor plan.

5) Intuitive Zoom & Pan: Use two fingers to zoom in and out of your drawing, just like you would with any other picture on the iPad. You may also pan the drawing simply by dragging your finger. The drawing area is 4 times larger than the iPad screen, allowing you to work on very large drawings.

6) Joystick: The joystick is a very handy way to rotate and move any element without using your fingers or typing in numbers. It provides a third alternative for moving or rotating elements and is one of the most-utilized features for advanced users.

7) Exporting: Export your drawing either as an image file or as a PDF file. Exported drawings can be emailed to any address you want. If you're in an area where there are no internet connections, you can save your drawing as an image file to your iPad's camera roll or save the current drawing within PadCAD by starting a new drawing.

Took about 10 mins to get use to the menu and with the instructions button clearing any other issues i couldn’t figure out, makes this a very tidy planning tool. Currently using for my house improvements, saving a fortune on an architect....full version £9.00 cheers easy ☺

I have spent countless hours testing every drafting app I can find. This one is ok. Has potential but still falls short if I am to pay anything. The first person to make an app like it should be is going to be rich. To bad nobody seems to be able to get it right.

Very easy to use, however after spending about 1 hour and 45 minutes with my drawing, it freezes up on me and I couldn't retrieve it😕.Also you will have to pay, in order to save your work. It is worth the buy👍, if it doesn't freeze up 😉.

I used the same acid test I use on similar drawing programs. I made a rough floor plan of my three level home. With no instructions, no stylus and without my eyeglasses. It took less than 10 minutes. I found the GUI to be intuitive and instructive. Thus app passed my benchmark tests and my expectations with ease. Recommended.

The menu continues to disappear altogether or run offscreen. Very frustrating if youve worked on something and are unable to save because the menu cannot be accessed. Potential, but needs fixing soon please. Paid 14$ for something i cannot currently use...

I would buy this app if the double click to select was fix as it is very hard to select a wall and can just move the wall around. And adjust other wall measurement. I would be better if you could just long press. Also locking a wall will not stop the length being change. Otherwise I see a very good app. Fix this and I will be buying it. Used on lenovo yoga pro.

Need to fix the following. I paid good money.. For $14.99. Every time I tap to add furniture etc. The grey tools menu shifts far to the right screen, so I cant get to the settings to save my work. Yes its centered when launched but only when I tap the tools. For Galaxy Note 4.

(Nexus 10) The app worked great in the free version so I bought the full version. As soon as it was paid for it started to freeze every few minutes. The final straw was when the project I saved disappeared when I tried to load it after restarting the tablet. I am now in the process of requesting a refund.

Only been using for a few minutes but it is very cool. Instruction set not suitable for what I want but still very easy to use.

This cad app seems like it's got potential, but it has a poor interface and menus seem to disappear and don't make sense. I will never make in app purchase so fix the interface and make the app purchasable from Google play directly and I may consider it.

Simple and very nice but one thing very important is missing.. Cannot accurately start an item where you want them to be and when you do, editing is just as hard. Double tapping an item keep on relocating it and its annoying... two star for the general concept of the app...

First, I can't express enough my sincere gratitude for telling people UP FRONT that its a TEST ONLY app and that saving and printing come when you pay! THAT by itself is worth 5 stars... but theres more. I could tell By using it, this app was crafted for PRECISION with use with fat fingers like mine! I was able to draw many structures EXACTLY the way I wanted them to look. No compromises! Its almost 4 am but I WILL be buying the full version TODAY! THANK YOU For a GREAT app!

No way to key in lengths, no way to draw anything accurately. Klutzy interface. Save yourself some time.

Probably a nifty program. But, Google Play reports that it's not compatible with my T-Mobile Asus Nexus 7 2012 although the tablet's less than 3 years old with the latest Kit Kat 4.4.3! That's really a shame to be so fussy of an app. One star for such lack of compatibility for a major Android tablet brand. And even if this Nexus model had been discontinued, the fact is the tablet does exceed the minimum screen resolution the app required.

I've been working with this app for 2 hours now. I'm trying to design an 8'x8'x8' hunting blind. I can't set the grid as low as 1", only 2". I can't set the wall width to 0", since I am making the walls. Attempting to zoom in and lengthen a "2x4" results in only grabbing and extending one side of the 2x4 end, instead of both sides simultaneously. Having larger dimensions fixes this, but I don't need larger dimensions. It's just not for small dimensions/projects. I'll just stick to CAD on a computer.

The reason I hadn't played it yet is because my ipad is stuffed and top of screen has a black box covering the menu so I will keep it until next notice :-)

I love this app and anything having to do with art and design...great way to make a living if you put your mind to it...

When I opened the program first time it did not work at all. Resolution issues must be solved in this program

Ted. M. May 20, 2015

For devices like Galaxy Note 4 series. So that when using my pen, I hover over an icon and it tells me what it is.

Mys. G. Nov 21, 2014

still trying to use...

Ori. L. Sep 20, 2015

Doesn't work on my g2. It says I have a resolution of 897x540 when my resolution is 1080x1920.

Don. P. Sep 1, 2015

Easy to use, complete and good instructions. Too bad save costs money. Think I will look around.

Mau. K. Jan 3, 2014

Nice program except it won't save the finished file (yes I know it won't), ah well will keep looking. Such a shame as it worked so well at a shed design I was planning. :-(

Jus. B. Nov 21, 2013

The app won't work with razor m cuz it requires a bigger resolution than what my phone has... seems like it would be rather handy to have but doesn't work with all phones

Bre. S. Dec 17, 2013

Buy only no try first then go for more. Just a bad app

Ste. L. Aug 19, 2014

god. t. May 12, 2015

I like it, good working in Asus Zenfone previously I was having another Co. Mobile it was not working but in Zenfone it is working is good.

Stu. P. Dec 9, 2015

My new phone has a menu bar at the bottom that doesn't go away. This hides the "Finish or Done" button at the bottom of the right hand variables bar that opens when you want to fine tune. They need to fix this so you can reorient the menue bar.
