Pain Log - Pain Tracker

Pain Log can help you track pain. It allows you to make daily diary entries recording your condition and the intensity, location, nature and time of the pain you feel, as well as the medication you take and additional notes. Records of your pain can help health professionals gain an insight into the pain you are experiencing.

The main view of the app is a calendar. A new diary entry can be added and existing diary entries can be viewed by selecting a day in this calendar. Diary entries can be exported to PDF. You have to specify a period of time for which the entries are to be exported. You also have the option to share that PDF.

Pain Log has a daily reminder function. If enabled, it displays a notification reminding you to make a diary entry if you have not made one yet. You can set the time at which you want to be reminded in the settings.

How does Pain Log differ from other similar apps?
1) Minimal permissions
Pain Log requires write access to your device’s storage if you wish to
export your diary entries to PDF. All other features do not require any permissions.

2) Protection of privacy
User data is not recorded, nor sent to any third party. The data you enter is only locally
stored on your device.

3) No tracking mechanisms
Pain Log distinguishes itself from many other applications in the way that it does not include any tracking mechanisms.

Edit, because the developer seems to have misunderstood the issue here. The content of the ads are not the problem. It's the fact there's one literally every 30 seconds, which is unacceptable for a paid app, especially when they pop up while in the middle of typing notes. --- Reasonably easy to use, though it could do for a feature that let's you mark pain levels throughout the day, not just once. But way too many ads for a paid app. They're between almost every single screen of notes.

I really like the depth of this app, and how easy it is to use. But my problem is with the ads that pop up every few seconds. I looked for an option to buy a no-ads version in the app, but i couldn't find any. I'm not sure how long i'll use this app with the bombardment of ads that i get. Edit: Changed to 1 star because the pop up ads every few secs is absolutely inexcusable. This "feature" in no way helps me out, it is a huge hindrance. I will be uninstalling and looking for another pain diary

The premise of the app is good, I would like the ability to add more pain details or custom descriptors over what is available. Some of the terms don't truly translate to endometriosis pain. The worst part is the ads. I used the app for less than 5 minutes and was hit by 7 ads that completely overtook the screen and kicked me out of entering data. That is unacceptable, especially with no pro upgrade options.

I like the overall premise of this app but the frequency of pop-up adds was so disruptive that I just can't use it. Within 2 minutes I was interrupted three times when selecting a day to add or edit an event. Would be fine if it was just an add bar or occasional pop-up... this was to much.

I have been using this app for a while now. Previously i had given this app 5 stars. the ADs previously were not too bad. But now you get bombarded with them when you add or edit information in the app. I purchased the Pro version and the only thing different is the ADs are gone. Nothing else has been fixed or added to the Pro version. :(

i have been keeping Pain Logs for a long time, and on coming into the 21st Century, I've looked and looked for a good app, so that I don't need to write, and this app is great, easy to use, and full of more potential. All of the additions that Jess Pine, Reviewer Comments below, recommended are excellent ideas, especially adding in body areas, such as, elbows and ankles, as well as, more items on the pain descriptor list. I would also like to have more room in the Notes at the end.

i downloaded it and within seconds of trying to use it i got hit by 12 ads in a matter of about 5 minutes. it was very difficult to navigate so i deleted it. crappy app!!

Before I was even able to start using the app I deleted it. Just to enter my DOB was more trouble than it was worth. You can't manually enter that date nor is the a way to scroll through years. That meant going through almost 51 years worth of months. The second problem. I found rather immediately is extremely poor grammar. If people can't proof read a simple sentence how do I know they have proof read their code. This is for something rather serious, not just checking on minor aches and pains

I started out, buying setting things. Up it was clear that the writer didn't have a good grasp on English.. ..."wear would you heared about this ...."

Just downloaded it, looks good. Easy to use. You should make a upgraded version available for purchase that has more room for comments and no ads.

Good but wish it let you put several posts each day - chronic pain varies in levels and states throughout the whole day. Also the adverts aren't that intrusive imo.

This app I liked but unfortunately it doesn't open sometimes, which is frustrating, I ended up uninstalling this and bought a pain diary from Amazon as I haven't time for apps that don't work!

Birthday was based on flipping through calendar instead of data entry. Pain body was split down middle which made it hard to mark tailbone pain, spinal pain. sorry, I'm uninstalling.

pretty good so far! i suggest also adding in extra factors that affect pain such as sleep, water consumption, caffeine consumption and things that make the pain worse/better. thanks for making this app!

My experience is good, the only problem I have is that the space for commits is to small I can't put on my thought down that needs to be fix before I can give it a 5 star.

Not what I was looking for. I just want a separate calendar to take notes with. This app asks for your personal info

Tar. T. Feb 4, 2022

Good idea for a app well executed, Design and such, just the ads make the app not usable

It's okay, but every time I try to export a pdf, it freezes up.

Eva. B. Sep 18, 2019

Sudden loud noises from adverts is very intrusive. Uninstalled.

Tar. P. Jan 16, 2019

I like that I can add comments throughout the day if my pain changes so I don't have to remember every detail.

Wya. D. Mar 18, 2019

Simple like I was hoping but you couldn't add multiple symptoms or multiple pain areas.
