Pale Moon web browser

Pale Moon for Android (PM4A) is a web browser based on Mozilla Community code and the Gecko rendering engine.Pale Moon has seen several years of development on desktop and aims to provide a similar experience on mobile devices and tablets through Pale Moon for Android.
Pale Moon for Android is in no way affiliated with the Mozilla Corporation and follows its own independent development and release schedule.Pale Moon for Android is also independent of its desktop counterpart, and essentially a different application. Although synchronizing data between the two is possible, Pale Moon for Android will not be able to use desktop extensions, and the other way around -
- those have to be created specifically for this browser.

Please see the relevant posts on the Pale Moon forum for specific details about the changes and fixes in this version.

Please note that Pale Moon for Android's development beyond maintenance has currently been halted due to lack of sufficient development resources (manpower/expertise) to maintain development for the fast-moving target that is the Android OS. If you wish to help out and are adept at C/C++/Java and Android programming, we'd love to hear from you on the Pale Moon forum!

Good browser and the only one I found that would work on my device and browse my wireless router's homepage at the web address of 192.168.01 . unfortunately doesn't load YouTube correctly and loads the site as if it were a feature phone and every time I click on a video it asks to open in VLC or the streaming player that came with my device and both dont work with VLC only playing for about 6 seconds and the other just loading a blank screen...

Great while it lasted

I love using Pale Moon as my web browser ever since I saw it in a YouTube video, not only because the Windows version uses the old Firefox 4 interface, but also because it uses my favourite search engine as its default. However, with this Android version, while it's nice, there are still bits of Firefox orange in the interface, such as in the address bar when text is selected, and the text pointer arrow.

With my last phone (HTC Desire 320), this browser performed very poorly... However, since their update, as well as the upgrade I made to my current phone (Alcatel OneTouch Idol X), I have no issues with it anymore. I definitely recommend this browser to anyone looking for an alternative to the mainstream, as well as for those wanting a well-performed browsing experience. =)

This browser is not developed anymore, it will only receive security fix. Because of that it can't keep up with the web. It crashes everytime you go to a page with media content such as videos and it's extremely slow compared to Firefox/Icecat. As much as I love palemoon for pc, I cannot recommend palemoon for Android. I just hope someone will step up for the development or this browser will die on Android.

I prefer this browser and so sorry that they don't have time to fix problems. On 4.4.2 every single browser plays videos with ease, except this one. Maybe I have to download an earlier version in apk. (I tried number of news, some plays the voice, but no moving picture )

Constantly crashing. I have no idea why and apparently neither do the developers, because several versions have been released and the problem is still present. Considering how Mozilla is destroying Fx, I WANT to be able to give PM a higher rating, but the app's performance doesn't warrant it.

Sites its never been to, loads video fast - faster than my hyped up desktop. I have not ever used a web browser that is this good. Ever! , con; its contankerous only in the fact (me) the user was/is new. You cannot msspell a url anymore, add on extensions r available

I like the features, and doesn't have one of those text entry bugs that I ended up having on the latest version of Firefox. The browser has some compatibility issues with some web sites that needs work on (version recognized as old/some text boxes have to be accessed by clicking above them), but at least I've been able to work around them. This project is looks promising. One of my biggest issues with most Android web browsers now is that desktop page versions can't be accessed. I use an Android box on a 1080 screen so mobile pages just don't feel right. It would be nice if Pale Moon could just default loading everything to desktop mode only, but at least you can select the website to load as desktop and it will remember it.

Slim as on PC. Palemoon just gets out of the way and let's me surf in peace. Better than Firefox, Maxthon and Opera.

I like it as a browser, but it seems to drain my battery quite a bit. Also, I really don't like how it compresses the original file that I saved on this browser. (To clarify, the Google Chrome app maintains the same quality of the image when I save it; Pale Moon reduces it significantly upon saving it.) Also, video playback is abysmal, as the video lags behind the audio by a handful of seconds or more, and the video, itself, is completely discoloured. Otherwise, plenty of optimisations clearly need to be addressed, and Moonchild needs to stop lying about halting development of this app.

A great alternative to chrome and Firefox, both of which have gotten a bit too large for my tastes. Uses Firefox plug ins as well.

Perfect browser, with one little drawback: it took me ages to change settings regarding the default search engine. First i had to add my desired new default engine to the search engines, which is perfectly fine. But to make this the default search engine one has to do this in tools-->add-ons instead of settings which i found confusing.

Runs well on all phones and tablets that we have. Faster by a noticeable margin and renders pages without error. Thanks to the developers for such a useful app.

Latest version is unusably slow on Android 5.0.2, HP Pro Slate 10 EE G1. But the UI looks a little better from older version.

Frequent crashes, does not support common scripts i.e. cannot log into Dropbox through the browser. Hopeful it will improve but for now uninstalling. Not usable.

A pretty it's no longer in development. Was great for browsing the full desktop web on mobile and supported great plugins.

Edu. S. Apr 6, 2017

Much better navigation experience than Chrome or Opera. I hope they keep updating it. Ublock Origin can be installed for no ads.

A. G. u. Feb 7, 2017

Didn't work for me. I needed it to access some locally stored HTML5 pages with embedded video and it couldn't handle it.

A. G. u. Jan 22, 2017

Cannnot play videos embed on websites by twitter. It doesn't open comments section in some websites like car throttle. It is my favourite browser.

Mar. B. Apr 4, 2017

Very useful to sync bookmarks with my desktop Pale Moon. Works with ublock origin to keep away adverts. Only crashed once in 6 months of using - impressive. Loads up everything asked of it. I cannot fault Pale Moon mobile!

Clo. C. Nov 28, 2016

Almost perfect, crashes pressing add photo on Facebook, it has trouble trying to pinpointing a word when Editting a comment on Facebook also. Cut and paste is hit or miss, more miss.. But it allows add-ons!

Dan. Dec 25, 2016

It reloads the video and start playing again from the beginning every time I turn mobile horizontal or vertical. Wasting all space in page when vertical.

Ric. H. Mar 1, 2017

Much better now. Freezes less. Not compatible with Adblock Plus, Ghostery,or Decentraleyes and most add-ons. Intrusive, records Top Sites. There is no option to remove or disable it. Already has Bookmarks so it's not necessary. Even so,it is a good browser and a keeper.

Mar. L. Oct 15, 2016

Stops working and shuts itself down on webpages with videos or anim gifs.

C. C. Jan 1, 2017

They need to fix the keyboard, some websites I have to reload twice to make sure the keyboard pops up.

Kal. L. Jan 28, 2017

love it - except for outdated (not supported on facebook shuts fown after a few pages of scrolling) but better than dolphin -for galaxy note 10.1 2012 hard to find browser that supports desktop view.
