The app itself is quite good, lots of options to play around with to suit everyone's requirements. The downside is if you have an issue. The support service is bad. Multiple options to contact them with no real indication if any of these options work if at all. Also something which I didn't like is one of the hyperlinks brings you to PayPal to send a fee? I thought this was weird and makes me question if its a "pay for service " which is an unofficial approach?!
I thought this had promise at first, and even purchased a premium subscription. But come to find out that it works perfectly, unless the child creates a 2nd user profile on the phone (feature in Android), in which case the app doesn't work at all. It's partitioned on the other user account. There's no way to lock down other user accounts, so it's a losing battle. Way too easy to manipulate for any kid and needs to be fixed for this app to get even 2 stars.
it was great during the trial period but I upgraded to premium but it won't let me access premium features...I've tried contacting support and I've never heard back so I'm cancelling for that reason. Great concept but I'm not going to keep paying for something that I can't access all features for. Literally just got billed for February I meant to cancel before but forgot to 👎👎
Best parental control app we have found! The fact that you can select which apps are in different categories and shut an entire category off with one button is great. All the other apps you have to do it one at a time. So if my child gets in trouble I can hit one button to shut off all of her games.... Full Review
I took the 3 day trial and the app worked perfectly. I took out the year long subscription and all of a sudden the app is completely unresponsive. I can't log out. I've restarted but still nothing. So as of right now I can't re enable my daughter's phone as it is locked through the bit guardian app. Avoid this app completely.
Anybody home? The app itself is great for my needs when it works. Worked perfectly during my trial. Once I subscribed to the yearly membership it locked me out. To access any features it says its for subscription .. which I have. I then get requested to input a verification code. Which never comes even though its been over 12 hours (requested more than once). Contacted technical support twice. No response. If I don't get a solution today. I will be uninstalling and disputing charges w/ my bank.
Not happy! App downloaded Christmas day, at first it seemed like the perfect app, that quickly changed. My child is able to access things I've blocked just by restarting her phone. Reports don't show activity thats taking place. Sleep mode is on prior to the time I have set. Guess it's time to find a new parental app!!
So here is my take away of this app. On my child's phone, Samsung J3, I have it kiosk mode and only access to "PHONE" app. I can access settings by pulling down the notification bar from the top all the way to the bottom outside of the screen. From here I can disable the entire app. In addition to this I can access the contacts/text through the phone app; meaning that these apps are not disabled, just the icons removed. I really want this app to work, but these things need to be fixed.
Does not work every single time, constantly have to go back and turn on parent accessibility in child's phone for it to work. GPS doesnt work as it describes in addition because it doesn't work at all times gives the child the ability to call contacts you don't want and get on unsafe apps and have unwanted callers calling. Disappointed and also no one to call and talk about these issues with.
Its is ok. I wish it had a grounded button instead of having to lock each app individually and a lock on the App itself to prevent anyone from getting in the app. But it also has made my kids' phone have issues with other video apps like Netflix, You Tube.
This app is good but, while my child's phone is locked while she is in school so she don't use it, she should still be able to dial 911 if there is an emergency. I know there is a panic button for her to reach me but, please update this to where a child can still dial out for emergency purposes. Like dialing 911.
The kiosk mode is perfect for my need! This parental control app is really awesome as it provided me some power on my kid's mobile phone. I can select useful and learning applications for her use now. She has limited access to my chosen apps. Kiosk Mode is the most powerful tool I found in the app. I highly recommend Bit Guardian!
It seems to be a good app but, my son found away to disable it in very short order. He reset it. A simple fix to this would be, since it operates as an app on the parent phone and the child phone, the child phone should be able to be set to send continuous telemetry. If that Telemetry stream is broken by more than a given set time, the parent should be immediately alerted that the app has lost contact. I understand that it will take battery. That's his problem.
I like the app because of its simple and easy to understand interface. I am yet to explore the premium version but the 7-day trial seemed pretty convincing to me. Specially attracted to the GPS tool. Loved the app!
Pretty user-friendly app. I specially like the time seduale feature which offers me way to control my daughter's screen time. I have also used the calls feature and blocked few numbers from my daughter's contact. Thank god for the feature my daughter does not talk to those strangers anymore. Looking forward to more features!
Does not do what it shall do or lets say not good enough. It's not worth the money. Also the support is not good. Update in regards of the biggest issues: * Could never logon at the website and the final statement of support was that I do not need it !?! * It is loosing quite often the connection between child and parent despite that both mobiles are online and independent if on 4G or WLAN. * Counts active time of web browser even if the web browser has no focus but is running in background which appears that the child consumed the available online time. * I could not figure out how to get the app running for both parents.
When it works it's good. I block apps and other items but they only stay blocked fir a little while. They keep becoming available. My child has not figured out a way to bypass it. I thought he had. However, I've kept it with me for hours and the apps eventually become available. If this cant be fixed soon, I'll be cancelling my account. I mean, why even have it if it doesn't work.
Do not purchase premium. They will rip you off! Loved the free portion of bitguardian as I have three kids and it does what I need it to do. Opted to buy the lifetime premium when it was 75% off during the holidays and still have not gained access to any premium features. I've e-mailed multiple times to rectify this and haven't even received a response. Do not purchase premium.
Restrictions are working as expected but my child was able to uninstall the app even with password protection enabled. After 5 unsuccessful attempts before the app notification appears in a fraction of seconds he responds to OS notification to "YES" to uninstall then in few seconds app gone. Do you have a way to override the OS notification? I am ready to pay subscription if this is sorted as meets most of my needs.
On the surface the app works great, then I found out how many ways around it there are. A twelve year old figured out at least three ways that I know of to continue to watch YouTube after I had it blocked. Picture in picture will still work, the links can be accessed through messenger, and if he restarts the phone in safe mode the app is still accessible. Maybe this kid is just good at finding loopholes, or maybe there are too many.
