Please add an 'are you sure' when deleting messages. It's far too easy to delete them and no way to get them back. Edit after response: Thanks for responding. Rather than remove it altogether after feedback that it's too long, see how you can make it slicker. A simple 'are you sure' will do. Other apps include this feature so it's not reinventing the wheel. Further edit: now bit displaying documents and original concern still not addressed.
Not great. Hey an alert that you have a message, click on the message and see a blank screen. No way to delete old messages on mass. Not very well thought out or nice to use. A specific thing, the school uploads a pdf but pa connect makes it so that you cannot zoom in on the pdf to read it. 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️
'Show Content' gives me a blank screen. Having to uninstall and reinstall the app to read the weekly updates is becoming a bit tedious. On a Samsung S20, popular handset, not old. Shouldn't really encounter these issues
This app is beyond aweful. It will notify that a new letter has arrived, but when you go into the app there is no new letter. If you reinstall the app the letters appear, but then stop again. On top of thatbit wants to allow access to the camera and to make phone calls. Why? This is a poorly coded mess of an app and I advise all schools to avoid it. It says a lot when a co.munication app fails to communicate. If you look through the recent reviews you will see lots of people have the same issue
This app is unnecessarily hard to use. Considering it's designed for parents, who might not have much experience with technology, it's mind boggling. Sign-up is really hard. Navigation is confusing. Notifications lead you to a list rather than directly to the message you were notified about. Hire a UX expert. If you already have one, fire them.
After updating the app on an android phone will not let me log back in. Contacted PA connect and had a very helpful lady who reset password via email link, was able to log in once and then error occurred popped up once again. I have reinstalled several times. This is very frustrating as this app is the only way of communicating with the school. Hope this is resolved very soon!
Poor. Regularly don't get notifications that there's a message from school (you get the occasional notification, but there's no logic to whether you do or don't - and it's not even consistent with my wife's phone). Forms only work intermittently and once you've submitted one you can't use it again which is no good for regular forms e.g. weekly breakfast club bookings. Most of the content listed just takes you to the desktop version of the school website rather than being content in the app.
Consistently terrible experience. I worry that this company ask schools for money from the public purse, as pricing isn't clear from the website. The user experience is horrible. Messages from school aren't interactive, letters can't be read in landscape mode, many screens are blank, notifications nag. The experience just isn't simple as it should / could be. That's critical to any app. Can't wait for my kid to leave primary.
Lack of screen rotation is a MAJOR oversight! This is an app that's meant to function as a conduit between schools and parents, and most of the information eg weekly newsletters, important stuff etc is formatted for A4 printing. From which GODFORSAKEN PLANET hails the software developer who thought we'd all prefer going bog-eyed, zooming in before scrolling horizontally along EVERY SINGLE LINE?? I literally just use a handheld magnifying glass now. Oh, and notifications are whimsically sporadic
It used to be great. But last two weeks it just keep crashing, keep longing me out, unable to log back in and saying error occcured with everything what I am trying to do (log back in, reset password ect.) If this app not going to do something about it very quickly school's should find some other app as parents rely on booking breaks / after school clubs for their kids and if they are unable to do it they are jeopardising their job which is very bad and unacceptable!

This is clearly a poorly ported iOS app (e.g., it has a back arrow at the top of each screen despite Android having a dedicated back button built into the UI). I could write pages on the crazy UI decisions taken, but the most egregious is ignoring some symbols (e.g. #) when typed, making use of a secure password impossible. The website used to set up your account doesn't validate passwords so it is perfectly possible to set up a password for your account that the app won't let you enter!
Update: the support team helped a little, however I still had trouble when applying the password. But due to my previous attempt I was prepared and had already copied my password prior to commencing the process, so it worked. Now I am on the app it is great! I do know other parents who has had the same issue and given up!
Problematic/not fit for purpose - used to work great but now the app won't load, attempts to load and then nothing happened. Uninstalled and reinstalled and still nothing will load. Numerous calls from the school about school lunch money... I'm going to have to take in cash...this is not a long term solution and to be honest slightly embarrasing as the school has made it seem as though the errors in payments are me.
Doesn't work. Cant login due to invalid password. Could eventually reset my password, still doesn't work. Can't paste from the OS directly, instead there's an in-app paste option, who knows if they're copying my password and saving it somewhere. Requests access to my camera, make calls and hard drive without an explaination
Updated review. After updating i couldn't log in to the app. I can now get on to the app after contacting support. I also suggested your ux team look at their wording for the search page. I can't access all docs though unless I go to the school website. I was told that you were working on this but it is still not resolved. Fyi I have an older Huawei phone so am not effected by the Huawei vs Google spat. I can still download apps. I've updated the stars to reflect that you're helping.
Considering how important a child's education is and the fact that this is essentially a communication App, it's pretty poor. I would think a typical 10 year old could come up with something better. Also, as someone who struggles with technology anyway, it's not even remotely intuitive. Guess I will just have to suffer as schools these days just don't appear to have the ability to send home hardcopies for those of us that struggle. We're just left to wallow in the mire.
Terrible!!!!! Crashes every time it opens!. I have just had a response from Kevin at support he has informed me that the app is no longer supported by my device so that this is the issue. Previous to this the app worked perfectly and was ready to use.
Constantly gives error message not been able to view for 3 months now installed and uninstall several times
Always goes to a blank screen, then kicks me off the app. The app will let me on, but once I click on the messages panel, it kicks me off so virtually impossible to read any newsletters.
Don't like this app one bit.. permissions are well over the top.. they want access to your phone, contacts, photos and videos.. sorry but that's a bit much for a school app. it's now being removed from my phone.
Every time I try to open the app and actually select what I want it closes itself. I uninstall it and try again same problem, it always crashing! I can't open notifications. It's such a inconvenience!

Great App! Makes my life so much easier and don't have to remember upcoming events any more. I've got 3 children and was fed up of all the letters I had to keep. I can fill in forms and book my preferred times for parents evening.
The October 2021 update is a significant improvement. The ability to view PDF documents in both portrait and landscape orientations makes this app much more usable now.
Every time I go to log in it delete me and then when I login it says error
Much better after the update, easy to use and i get all my messages now. Few issues though in that when viewing content (for example the school newsletter on an a4 layout) there's no landscape view to spread the text accross my phone screen and if I've pressed zoom a few times a lot of the page goes blank. Also i cannot read the full messages i have sent to the school, only the first line.
