ParentMail (PMX)

The app has never worked brilliantly and often crashes on me. Recently however it has started submitting forms with every option checked, even if I fill it in correctly. This is causing issues at my children's school as the answers are yes, no and maybe or they get signed up to every dinner option going. Really not good when this is the only method the school use for forms.

Terrible app, crashes constantly, makes recieving messages from the school a nightmare, takes about 8 attempts to read the newsletter. It's infuriating to use, just glad only this year left to use it, hopefully the next school will use a different app. Sigh.

App has stopped processing my card payments, saying payment failed each time since the new format of inputting further personal details!! Did you not test the payments process after making the changes???! And please sort out the overall design and interactivity. This app is not intuitive nor of great standard! Incompetent developers!

Unable to make payments for school clubs since the app update in January! Keeps coming up with pay360 capita server error! Doesn't even allow to put card details in before this comes up. I'm all upto date with my phone and pc...why can't I pay...I'm getting behind with paying😡

Puplexed as the app worked fine up until the last update and now I have no ability to make payments that I need to the school. Please fix this..... I have sent you an email with pictures to show you exactly all I see... no shop, no payments etc... as said there is now no option for shop or payments at all.

2/11/21 Loved the app up until recently when I too started to have issues with scrolling in the shop. It constantly jumps back to the top and I can't pay for after school clubs. Not fit for purpose at the minute, hence only 3 stars. Edit 11/1 - I am using the 3.9 version. This issue still isn't fixed. Was advised to use the filter to help with the issue, unfortunately this doesn't work either! As soon as I try to apply a filter everything disappears and then I have to close and reopen the app.

What a useless app. Sometimes it declines your payments on the app, but they go through on the desktop. Other times it's the other way around. Sometimes they don't go through an android app, but they go through the iPhone one, other times it's the other way around. Sometimes you can't put money on at all. If you do manage to put money on, it doesn't show on their balance for a few days, resulting in me topping up the account multiple times thinking the payments haven't gone through.

Good functionality. HOWEVER, I opted for the app in order to reduce/stop emails. The app appears to give you lots of control over emails and notifications, but even with every email option disabled it still emails me every time there's a message, plus a notification so now I get double the number of pings using the app then when I didn't have it. Plus , whenever there is any app traffic you get by default a daily email summary whether you like it or not, which you cannot disable. Infuriating

Not sure what other bug fixes you've implemented on the latest update, but the most annoying one has not been fixed. In the shop screen, you can't scroll down to the bottom as it keeps jumping back up to the top. If you refresh the screen by swiping down, everything disappears and then you have to close and reopen the app to see the items again. It's incredibly frustrating.

Informative, helpful and a good reminder! I only have one quibble, I like many people do must of my work on the computer. It would be so much more convenient to set up documents that need e-signing on this site. The amount of paper/cost/time used in school to photo copy, then another one is sent if lost. It could all be easily done in parentmail using an e-signature. Convenient for both School and families. Automatically resent if not returned on time. I can't be the first to ask?

As described below, autofill is bust, setting new PIN is also not working. Enter your email and password manually and skip setting a PIN code. I don't know how much you charge schools for this, but this is very poor experience, both in web and in app. Some of the other comments come from other software developers like myself, so we know this does not need to be this bad. Please fix this! It is the main line of communication with the school!!!

The website is as bad. The interface is poor, the top up experience is poor. I'm sure you charge schools a pretty penny for what is best described as sub standard & outdated. How you get away with it is the real mystery. The note on the website excitedly boasts that the app is compatible with android 8.1 (released in 2017). Only 3 major releases behind current v11. No doubt a standard "thanks for your feedback, but as long as schools keep paying we don't care" response will be along shortly!

Uninstall/reinstall has fixed the problem thank you Edit 02/09/21- downloaded as the update had arrived. Can't login at all through app just keeps asking me for a pin number then refreshes back to the login page. I can access fine through a browser Original - When I login through the app I can not see anything. Previously there would be a list of communications from the school but now none of that is there and no options to switch between sms/absence etc Just a blank screen.

This app was great until recently. I cannot pay my childs dinner money as keeps coming to a server error. Not very helpful!!!

I absolutely hate it! I have children at different schools and HAVE to use this, I have no choice! Using it for 1 child at 1 school is not too bad, but when I HAD to add another child at a different school, first it would sometimes open, now it won't open at all. It don't matter if I'm on Wi-Fi or mobile data, I've deleted and reinstalled it, it's just rubbish!

My child is missing out on school opportunities as this facility only sends some forms to us. The school get a message saying weve been sent a paper copy but we didnt. My child isnt been offered equal opportunity because of this program the school have signed up for.

Easy app to use and useful for last minute top ups on school clubs. It would be really helpful if you could see the balances for some of the club's. Not sure if that is something the school needs to set up though. Am having an issue at the moment with the school claiming I have made an overpayment on a club. Obviously I can't see the balances and I have no evidence of this from my purchase history or bank account. Wondering if other users have had the same issue.

I have an android 10 phone. When I select 'accounts' the page opens but instantly goes blank. Previously the app worked fine when installed. To overcome the issue, I installed the app on another mobile phone with android 8. The app worked OK for a while, but again its developed the same fault. On both phones I have unistalled the app and installed it again, however both apps on different phones continue to have the same issue. Any ideas why this is happening? My Account on my Desktop works fine

The app broke the last update and now we can't pay clubs that require a custom amount. Please fix, it has been months. EDIT: The amount is variable, that's why I need to be able to input it. Please, fix the button. Also, please give access to any support email, all the email addresses bounce back EDIT2: you've updated the app. Not only you haven't fixed the button, you've log me out and broken the password autocomplete. Permanent network errors since the update, and unable to do anything with it now. Tried re-installing, but the issues are not resolved. Will be informing the school that the app is not fit for purpose now. EDIT FOR RESPONSE TO DEVELOPER - Nope, I won't e-mailing you, I have chased far too many developers to tell them how bad their software is over the years, and I won't be beta testing this for you either. The app is useless since the update, regardless of whether I am using my mobile network, or home WiFi.

I do not receive emails anymore when a parentmail is sent and I do not receive notifications so unless I physically go in the app, I don't see anything. I have not made any changes to my settings, it has happened overnight. What annoys me the most is that it's impossible, as a parent, to talk to someone to get it fixed. Schools have better things to do than deal with individual issues for a service they pay.

Frequently kicked out of app between uses and have to login again. Swiping back a level on my phone is fatal it often takes you right out of the app and have to re-enter password to get back to square one. Two kids at school unable to distinguish between what relates to which child. Definitely lots of room for improvement!

---1) Buggy. Annoying. Every action results in a pop up asking if I need help. Whether or not I select "don't ask again" it does it next time. ---2) What is the point? I get an email to my normal email telling me there is a message for me. I have to exit email, open a different app, enter login pin, deal with popup (see #1), select message, open attachment before I actually see anything from the school. To see the next item, attachment needs to be closed, press back, deal with persistent pop up (see #1), select next message, open attachment etc. Just put the information into the email. ---3)Download a load of attachments to go through. Go to view them. They are all called "file.pdf". That's very unhelpful and disappointing. ---4) Having been through #3, in a quiet time with no connection you go to read the downloaded PDF attachments and guess what... Not 8 communications to catch up on but instead, 8 copies of the most recent one. (Cue silent scream to not wake everyone up).

So, I've not been able to log in due to forgotten password. Link to send reset email, doesn't send email. School try same thing and nothing happens. Uninstalled then reinstalled, still nothing. Try to contact customer support, can't actually TALK to anyone because it's an automated machine telling me to do what I've already done! So now, because of the absolute atrocity that is this app, my child is missing out on things.

Potentially useful when working well but it rarely does. 1) Message notifications are random. sometimes you get them, most of the time you don't. 2) E-mails stopped getting through more than a year ago. 3) Serious data protection breaches. The person (fellow parent) who we nominated as an emergency contact receives all our private correspondance including payment request. Bug probably amounts to a breach of the law. Not fixed although school was informed. 4) No customer service contact option.

I love the app and the connection it gives me with the school but recently it won't open and tells me I am not connected to the internet when I am. I have to keep reinstalling the app to get access but this is very short lived and then I have to reinstall it again later the same day. Any help would be appreciated.

Ridiculous app. There is no search available within the app. I have several children that are from different schools and I can't find nothing when I need. If there was search available that would be so much easier to find info that was posted in the past if you search something in particular. I find it very inconvenient and therefore I'm giving you 2 stars.
