If I do not have the app actively open on my phone screen, the "meter session expiring soon" notification does not come up. Fix bug so that when app is closed it runs in the background and will display notifications. [Since I work downtown Detroit] I have gotten several $45 tickets due to this issue. I have to set a timer on my phone which defeats the purpose of having the expiring notification on the app itself...Will give it 4 or 5 stars once fixed.
I'm not sure if this app ever worked properly or if they simply stopped updating it. I just sat in my truck for 10 minutes trying to get it to load, full 5G service, and the app kept saying it couldn't connect. I finally screen shorted and took a picture of the time in my truck. I won't be paying if I get a ticket as the way to pay to park never works. This happened to me on multiple occasions but eventually it ends up catching. Not today and now I'm late. Awful everything.
How the heck doesn't it have the ability to look up a parking zone? I forgot to pay when I parked and tried to do so a few minutes later from the Ren cen and had to look at Google Street view to get the parking zone. It's like they intentionally make it hard so that people get more parking tickets. Also, Android knows when you're driving so why not notify a user when they've stopped driving while in Detroit to, you know, actually be helpful?
Most of the time you want to use the same car and the same credit card - why make me select these every single time? It should have two selections: zone and amount of time. Done. If you want to change the car/credit card, you can add those as OPTIONS.
Went to pay through a saved card that I forgot expired recently. Thought I paid for 4 hours. Instead of giving an alert that the card wasn't valid, the app began a countdown on the session. 2 hours later walked back to a ticket. Could have been avoided if the app had any sort of notification with it.
Easy to use. Stores all payment sources which means I never have to search for funds at the electronic meter. Just park, a few clicks, and I am on my way. Can even add money when time is about to expire.
I actually love this app because of its convenience. My only gripe is the app doesn't allow you to add time before your initial session has expired. The way some of these meter people work, the few minutes it takes to add time could mean a ticket.
Used this to pay for parking and they said my meter is running out. I tried purchasing for more time but the app wouldn't let me. So I thought maybe this is the limit and anytime after that, this is free. Note: I did this for me and my sister and it wouldn't let me extend for both. I come back to my car and now I got a parking ticket 😒... for both cars. I would fight this but I don't want to drive all the way back to Detroit. DON'T USE THIS APP. AS A MATTER OF FACT, DON'T EVER PARK IN DETROIT.
This app is fine except for the fact that it steals from you! If there is even just one minute left in the hour (i.e. 7:59) this POS app charges you the full dollar, unlike the machines on the street that pro-rate for the hour. It is straight up theft and I cant believe they're allowed to get away with it. Avoid this app at all costs if possible!
This app is so convenient and safe to use instead of standing outside on the street trying to understand how to use the meter. You can also do it safely inside your car. You can extend your time from wherever you are on your phone. A must have for women!
Worse ever and the City of Detroit Parking Meters. They dont consistently register your payment, whether its cadh, use of credit card at meter or from app. Tired of getting tickets after I feed parking meter and it doesn' t register payment but it shows on my Credit Card.
If you lose your internet connection because you go into a building the app will cease to function properly. If you use the kiosks to park they will not tell you how much time you actually paid for. The app does not tell you how much time you have left if you've used the kiosk.
The app is great, the communication between it and ticketing vehicles could be better. Some people get tickets when the parking period is still valid.
Excellent and easy to use. It's much better/easier than using the kiosk, especially if you need to hurry and park and walk to your destination.
I went downtown, haven't been there since forever, it brought back so many memories, seen so very exciting changes, got what my interests of going there with a the way life is some happy, some sad, a very refreshing and welcoming feeling that was not expected, couldn't have been more happy downtown and knowing what was next even had thoughts of wondering if I could be happy living there. If it isn't me, hoping somebody could find happiness in our city.
I attempted to add time, and it added to a meter I used almost a year ago. I not only got a ticket, but also payed $4 for someone else's meter. Do not use this app. Do not go to Detroit.
Temperamental. Sometimes it'd work ok, sometimes not -- which isn't the best when you're trying to deal with parking. Plus there's that 15 cent "convenience fee."
easy to use. I'll give 5 stars even though it doesn't do time in increments under an hour. but easier than paying onsite cause the meter software is annoying
there should be an option to park for less than an hour, like you can with coins at the kiosk. seems a little money hungry. i like the remindrrs, but they come way to late.
Excellent app, very easy to use. Make sure you pre load your license plate and credit card to make it fast.
I have enjoyed this app for several years now 😁. it is SO convenient. It saves me so much money 😊. I recommended this to my loved ones and friends. It is user friendly and now we all enjoy this new way of paying to park.
HORRIBLE..I would Not recommend! I was charged $25 for parking 45 minutes. I called the number for assistance and no one returned my call to help resolve the Expodetional cost of parking 45 minutes.
Simple and to the point with notifications. Unbeatable. Plus you can pay your tickets through it!
i love this app, bit the icon did not appear on my screen..si when i use it i have to go on play store n open it up then continue to pay....thats a hassel if im trying to add money when the meter person is coming....how can i get the app icon, then you all would have 5 stars
The app works great as long as you remember to renew your stay, and just because you pay doesn't mean the meter maids won't give you a ticket
Using the app is really easy, I loved it. The only issue seems to be that they do not regularly check to see if you paid using the app or at the meter. This ended up with me getting 2 tickets when I had half an hour left on the clock. Would not recommend if you don't wanna constantly contest your tickets.
