Parking Kitty

I love having the app, and the app works pretty well with a few major complaints. 1) The reminder that the parking is almost up is too short. I can't get to my car in 60 seconds. Please make this a variable the user can access. 2) More zone history would be really nice, and attach the zone description as a subheading to the zones in the history list.

As a bank teller sometimes I park in the morning and move my car during my lunch. I'm not always able to stop what I'm doing to update my parking in 2 hour increments. A max of 4 hour increments could work (even if it'll cost more). As you can imagine getting a ticket this way can be really frustrating and the appeal process is also annoying. Plus, if I have to swap my lunch with someone there's no option to cancel/refund/credit parking time. Easy to use, but needs these improvements.

Hey Portland- it's a bit of a scam that the parking kitty app has an option for 15 minute increments but charges for the whole hour instead of just the 15 or 30 minutes I want to add. I think, this being the 21st century, you can do better than that! While I have your attention... It's super great that you included the option to extend a parking session, and after you fix the $ issue I mentioned, it would be nice to have an option to extend by 15/30 minutes instead of a full hour. Thanks!!

This could be so much better. For example, what zone are you in? You shouldn't have to walk to the meter to find out. Where's the meter? The app should know from data and gps where the closest one is. Also seems to have weird failures of connectivity and notification. Should fail more gracefully, e.g. notify you of expiration even when not connected.

this app makes paying for parking so breezy. and if your time runs out, you don't have to run out to the meter to add more time. you can add more wherever you are, whatever you're doing. helpful reminders let you know when your parking is going to expire so you can stay on top of it. one thing i wish, and this may have to do with the city, is that one could add more time before their parking expires. other than that, no glitches or anything like that.

The app is ok, but a special your welcome to the random person and great City of Portland, Oregon for the wonderful donation i made, from typing in a wrong number to pay for my parking, and ended up paying for someone else's parking as well as my own. This app will not allow you to cancel an active session if you type in a wrong number. I looked through the FAQs, and it states...you can not cancel an active session, your time just simply runs out. Mabey they should put a cancel feature in there.

unlike the parking system that they use in Washington, that always stalls and fails and gets me ticketed, this one actually works well. My one gripe is that it asks me every time to select my vehicle and credit card even though I only have one of each. The experience should be optimized but I only have to pick the length of time and it just uses the only card and car that I have.

This is actually a really useful app and has greatly improved the parking experience in Portland. It simplifies trying to understand the parking rules where you parked and eliminates the paper waste and issues with trying to place a ticket stub.

So much easier than standing in the rain hoping parking meter-box on the sidewalk successfully processes my card, given that they seem to glitch about 15-20% of the time, necessitating starting over, running my card again, still standing in the rain. Parking Kitty works every time, and faster, from the comfort of my driver's seat! It does only work in 15 minute increments, and they tack .20 cents onto every transaction as a service fee, but I can live with these 😀

No way to ask a question, reset my password, or unlock my account without entering credit card info. I can't reset my password. It asks for a pin that I don't remember setting up years ago when first downloaded the app and I can't reset my password without entering my credit card info, which could be any one of 4 accounts with 8ish different cards between them all. Why can't I just reset my password like every other website and app in the world? Frustrating as hell!

Completely useless and frustrating app. You don't get to choose your parking spot, the app does, and apparently doesn't have to be one that exists? Because I was not given the option of entering in the parking spot information i was in, and was only allowed to park in a spot number that doesn't exist in the zone i was in. Just .... trash this app, if you need to park in pdx or downtown Vancouver just carry actual change.

Fix the notifications i haven't been getting the usual "your parking is about to expire" you should just have your dev find a gem and install the socket to Force a tone also one to Make this app landscape compatible very difficult without this feature .***Update : New problem will. NOt notify when about to expire on samsung a52 FIX THIS it might be no sweat to you developers but this garbage is getting expesive!!! FIX YOUR GARBAGE APP!!

This is a major upgrade in parking experience. No placing receipt in the dash, no paper use, reminders when the parking is about to expire, and no need to walk back to the car to extend. Great experience so far.

Apparently only lets you buy in preset increments, meaning that while it could charge you the prorated hourly rate, it instead charges you more than you would pay at a machine, PLUS the convenience fee. This means it'll charge you 35 cents extra, on average, for parking at the end of the day.

it's an awesome way pay for your parking fees. it's also an excellent mechanism for the city to optimize revenue. You leave early... someone else shows up and pays for what you've already paid for!!

I only use the app because I have to. Notifications are waaaay to aggressive and it takes over your phone and redirects you to the app when your parking expires. It is incredibly annoying, god forbid you are in the middle of somthing. App is always slow considering how basic it is. It feels like it was made by one person as their first ever app. If Portland ever allows you to pay on a different parking app I will switch immediately.

This is one of the best ideas I've seen for city parking. The only reason I dont give 5 stars is the two hour parking max. Can someone please explain why you can't reserve for longer instead of creating new sessions every two hours? I would be more than willing to pay a premium to be able to park longer without the risk of missing phone reminders.

Easy to use! I visit Portland about every other month. You can prepay for parking 2 hours before the morning parking starts. I just keep this on my phone and it remembers zones I've parked in. Makes paying for parking near my hotel easy. I can stay in my room and feed the meter.

It over charges almost daily. an extra 10-15 minutes adds up. Today I paid for parking around 9am, however parking was free until 1pm. I do not need it and now it still keeps charging me. i paid for 2 hours and the parking timer said i had 6 hours left. I need a refund but Parking Kitty has no way to be reached. The app does not allow me to stop or cancell my session. The app just takes your money! It may be convienient but watch out!

Disappointing that this app when being scanned through mobile security, it's flagged as a privacy risk to your personal information. As the only option to park... This is inconvenient but not worth the hassle of having to deal with breach of information

I love this app but the session expiration reminder can be troublesome while driving. it would be nice to have a feature that allows me to abandon an active session, so I can keep reminders activated but have them disabled when appropriate.

I appreciate how easy the app is to set up and use. I park my motorcycle downtown often, and it is downright impractical to display parking receipts properly without tape (inconvenient) or a transparent tank bag (expensive and likely to be stolen). This app solves that problem for me!
