Partometer - camera measure
This android app performs remote, non-contact in plane measurements using Android phone or Android tablet. It uses the phone camera and any available object with known size as a reference. Most common reference objects like credit card, sheet of paper, DVD/CD, etc. are included in the application. Moreover you can use your own custom objects with known size to do camera measure.
If your friend or colleague is next to you, you don't need a ruler: use his height as a reference and measure objects around you. Use the app in medical area: for example, to measure distance between pupils by holding a credit card next to your face. Measure fish size very quickly and also you can load your pictures and measure all previous catch using your own height.
Modes:
Length-Mode
- measure and divide an object in certain ratio or mark length on the object using ratio ruler (slider). FreeHand-Mode
- measure an object in any direction and compare sizes to each other. Angle-Mode
- measure length, area and angle on an object in any direction and compare sizes to each other. Area-Mode
- area calculator, measure area of different shapes Circle-Mode
- measurements on circular objects: radius, arc, sector, area, angle.

All you need to do is to place a reference object (credit card or sheet of paper) on the measurement plane, make sure that the object of interest fits into the camera view and take your measurement
Partometer can be handful if:
- moving in and need to measure size of your room quickly
- buying furniture and want to estimate its size
- measure baggage size
- when buying glasses and need to measure Pupillary Distance (PD)
- measure fabric or cloth area and size
- measure trees
- need to measure out some distances on objects (handcraft, woodcraft, etc.)
- outdoor and want to know size of a big object that practically impossible to measure with a ruler or tape measure.
For example, you can measure:
- height of a house using sheet of paper as a reference object.
- small objects just by placing them on A4 or Letter sheet
- or compare height of a person
- use as a pitch gauge
- spark plug gap
- rectangle areas
- bearings, roller bearings, nuts, rings.
- any internal feature or free, irregular shape area on X-ray if you have a reference, useful for dentistsApp has metric and imperial units: meters, centimeters, millimeters, inches, feet

Depending on conditions this measure app can achieve sub mm resolution

This app takes a bit of getting used to. However, it has proven invaluable for working out roof pitches and measurements of high elevation layouts.
Very useful when a ruler or tape measure isn't at hand
Now the the apps show half of the screen only for the object.

I don't recommend app. Misled Consumers This app does not have the accuracy I would expect when dealing with milimeters and pixels. When you take a 10 megabyte picture and do a ratio between the ROC when measured with a caliper and then set the caliper to 60 mm and take measurement I would expect it to read alot closer than 59.648 mm. Come on we are dealing with hundreds of pixels per millimeter. At the least accuracy should be in the hundredth place (ie) 0.01 mm. With a little work this could be a great app. I would like my money back please. I think the app programmers knew it had bad accuracy that why we were unable to try first. I don't recommend app. I can just imagine how bad the accuracy is when measuring a room in feet. BAD APP Misled consumers. Shame
It's difficult to line up the reference points. The zoom helps, but the point often jogs as you take your finger off of the screen. Secondary arrow controls would help.
It does exactly what I need. Please take your time to read the manual of everything else doesn't work before making complaints. The developer deserves thanks for this smart solution.
This app is saving me hours of manual labor to extract measurements from photos. UI zoom = brilliant solution to problem of high-precision pointing on a small capacitive touchscreen.
Simple user interface. Was able to use existing photographs to estimate dimensions by using custom known parameter on screen (for example 1/4" steel plate).
Having to calibrate to a known object every time a measurement is taken is waste of time. what's the sense.
love the app and idea. great way to make days more productive

I use partometer in my practice to measure x-rays
My dialogue can be found on their FB profile - it's the long one, lol. I highly recommend engaging them through that medium if you're having any issues. They're very aware of our feedback, responsive, quality-minded, and are willing to work with you. I'm not affiliated with them other than wanting to use their app to perform a job in my work environment. I highly recommend this team, and endorse their products. Precision what I need. Took a picture with a technical ruler, but shows wrong measurement in mm definition. Putting references point has low resolution so its skipped often. This needs snap features. Please help otherwise please refund the money. You should have make a free trial apps first. I was very happy when I saw your apps until I use it.
Really could use this. Tried take snapshot of building to get roof pitch. Works in live camera shaky hands mode but could not get it to take a snapshot works sometimes then not. Took photo with camera app, this is supposed to allow loading photo. Lets me select a photo but then just dumps back to live view. Seems very buggy, unreliable. I need tools that work. Followed advice of the developer, uninstalled, reinstalled, no errors indicated. Tried to load a photo from the phones standard gallery. Shows the gallery, lets me select a photo to load, then just dumps back to live camera view. Load photo simply does not work period on my HTC One X. This makes the app basically useless for many applications.
Please tell me where snapshots are getting saved. I am not able to access saved files.

Nice app! I do have a wish though. Add some lines that can be used to compensate for perspective. Lets say you want to measure the hight of a building when close to it. Then the building will get distorted by perspective. The moveable lines will then calculate the vanishing point
when measuring a ruler with as credit card as the reference, it routinely failed to measure within 10 percent accuracy; therefore useless for pd

Could do with a timer on The camera part but over all 5star
I have used this app and found it reasonably accurate. My only issue is that I am unable to load an image I have previously taken. I follow the parh through and tap the image I want only for the capture screen to open. A shame really as I was hoping to conduct a survey of a property using this app and then when back in the office populate dimensions onto a cad drawing. I have contacted the developer in the hope this can be resolved.
I really had high hopes for this app. But it crashes as soon as you try to import an image. Also, it would be nice if you could turn off the camera sound or at least not over ride the native setting. If this were a trial app, I would have probably given it three stars. However, such a major bug in a purchase only app is unacceptable. Update: I upped my review from one to three stars. The developer pushed out a fix and now this is working. I will give them props that they do respond to user feedback. I will give this app more time and possibly update the review again.
Works good. Wish you could manually zoom in to move your mark because the zoom box is too small. Better instructions on how use the app or video instructions would be great. A little more tweaking for ease of use and would give it a 5 star rating.
