PassApp Taxi in Cambodia

The app is good and very useful overall, thanks! One thing I would suggest is that you offer a 3D view of the road to the destination as most drivers don't know how to read the map when they need to drive towards the south. In that case I need to indicate them each turn. It's not the end of the world but that would be very useful for the drivers. In Siem Reap all the drivers I had so far were honest compared to Phnom Penh where they stop the app and use their own meter after few minutes.

App is okay. But the drivers are not. They book your order and pick up other passengers along their way, making you wait for them to arrive on their destination and that's the only time you can book another passapp. I hope there's a cancel button for the app users as well. Other drivers, doesn't swipe upon arrival and asks for more money. Disappointing...

Oh I do wish I could use my credit card by setting it up on the app. Trying to keep 1 dollar bills and Riels is a real problem. I would just love to book a taxi and go and not have to shuffle around trying to get the correct change for the driver. I wouldn't mind paying the 2 or 3% more to cover the cards transaction costs. I do like the service and speed of arrival of the taxis however it's just the credit card option missing and also the map for finding your destination is terrible.

It used to work very well in Cambodia. The App recently had a major upgrade and now it is junk. Changes appear to be mainly driven by drivers seeking to beat the system and exploit unknowing customers. Hard to believe that a ride sharing type App as this is, would permit that to be done to itself. Especially since it was so damn good before. The so-called upgrade is compulsory too, unfortunately, so can't see how to work around it. Actively seeking alternatives.

I use this app several times a week. Frustrating, as others say, that you can't cancel a ride when the driver picks up the wrong person. Most of my problems with PassApp are driver related, drivers going the wrong way, unable to read their map, making a "mistake" when stating the fare etc., but many of their drivers are excellent.

I have always support Passapp as it is a homegrown Cambodian app. However, I have no choice but to use others as the lastest updates failed. It keeps asking me to update. When I click update, the Google Store's latest version is installed. I clicked launch, but it ask me to update. It just goes in an endless loop! Can't use at all!

The app is now useless. It won't work unless you update and it won't update. It give you the choice to exit or update and when you go to Google play to update you can either uninstall or open it. Opening the app sends you back to the screen telling you to update. Uninstalling and reinstalling does not address the issue.

I used to love this app, and wanted to support a Cambodian startup instead of Grab, but the app is stuck in an unending loop of needing to be updated. A shame as this app had a lot of loyalty and previously a great intuitive interface.

Very strange design. It's cash based but it doesn't show you to price while you're on the way so you can get it ready. Instead of giving you an estimated time of arrival, it times your trip which is completely useless feature. I'm going to stick to grab which has has credit card option and tells you the time you will arrive.

I didn't get past the account setup. The is app might be good for locals, but part of the setup process is for the app to send you a verification code via SMS. This requires tourists to incur additional costs due to mobile phone roaming fees. There's an option to login via Google, however that doesn't solve the issue. Why not email the customer their verification code, or use WhatsApp?

It was a good app. For weeks now, it has been asking me to update before I can use it. Whenever I try to update, there is no update, and I go around in a loop. Uninstalling and reinstalling does nothing, restarting the phone does nothing - has the service died?

Don't use this app. Try Zelo or Grab. You can't pay using card in this app. Drivers everytime cheat on you with the price. If you insist on the app's price they have no change. They can't find your point, they don't know how to ride using navigator: they mix left and right. And you can't setup stops during the ride. So you have opportunity only to locate start and finish point. Useless.

So many time that PassApp drivers cheated on me. They not going to the fastest directions instead they try to go as far as possible to get more money. But some drivers are friendly and reach customer destination as fast as they could. Most drivers don't use Waze and Google Maps. And in-app UI is pretty bad comparing to other company like Grab. Unsatisfied app experience, ride experience and I wonder why you are the most popular taxi hailing company when you can't make good and modern app UI and drivers cheated on customers.

Questionable pricing and policy You have 2 type of tuk tuk, the 3 wheeler and the motor bike tuk tuk, but they still only allow only 3 people on the motorbike tuk tuk, which makes no sense since it has plenty of space for at least 4-5 people. If this is the case what's the point in having 2 options? At least their competitor Grab allows up to 4 people with an additional fee of 2,000 riel per person. you should follow their example and rethink your policy, until then it stays a 1 star.

It has been good up to now. my driver couldn't finish the ride and so I paid him the agreed on app price when I hailed the ride. Now the app says I'm still on a ride and I can't cancel it or hail a ride home. Eventually the ride cleared and i could use the app again after about 24 hours. there needs to be a way for passengers to cancel a ride after some length of time, say an hour.

Mostly very good. Infuriating when a driver starts a ride on his app without picking up passengers. You are then marked as on a ride and there's no way to cancel or book another ride until the driver deems so. The app is useless in that scenario. Add Grab because that will happen to you too. UPDATED: I sent the developer an email immediately (even before I wrote the review). The developer never replied.

Good transport but greedy drivers. I've had multiple experiences where the driver didn't have change for my money which made me overpay for my rides. Tip for new users: FIND THE EXACT AMOUNT BECAUSE THEY DON'T GIVE CHANGE; this furiates the hell out of me. I suggest y'all to use the app Grab. They give change all the time and a lot of promotions; I've never had a bad experience with Grab. Thank you.

Never been a fan of the app, especially of the drivers who use, it but it's now a pointless app. Like all the recent reviews suggest, it's on s constsnt loop of saying it needs to be updated when there is no update.

this app is pointless in sihanoukville,Cambodia. the drivers overcharge every time sometimes triple what the suggested price is. They cancel your trip midway and claim you didn't show up so they get lost and can't find the route and feel ok to overcharge you. you might as well hail a tuktuk here as all the drivers are crooks

this app is great and helpful but some problem is difficult to solve, like you book for a trip but someone took that trip and you can't book another one as long as that trip is on going... must solve this crazy prob..

It is a very good app but recently I have encountered many drivers who were trying to cheat the system by asking the client to cancel the booking after got into their cars. please do not just cut and paste your standard reply. It looks so unprofessional. if you just being paid to response online review, can you do your job better? It is a disgrace to you as an employee.

They don't show you how much it will be after you confirm the drop-off. It was shown before you confirmed, but now they took it away and just says from 3000 riel, so a driver can literally cancel the booking on arrival/drop-off and tell you to pay more and you don't have anything to show him how much the app says. And yes this has happened in the past.

Forces updates at very inconvenient time, i.e. standing in the street with all my luggage. Thanks pasapp... hello GRAB -- Update 31/10 This still isn't fixed. Just flown back with all mt luggage, again forcing this, again going Grab. This market is VERY competative now. Be cautious of the user experience.

I'm user of this apps for two years. One thing I don't like. They keep calling calling calling. My private number exposed. They don't follow GPS. Even they are in 1 km far from me they call where I am. I hate they keep calling.. and I need to find translator. STOP CALL.. they call and call. Call call call. I'm annoyed. At end I yell them and I cancel my book.

Sometimes it works great. Sometimes it freezes and says you owe money even after you pay, and it won't let you order a new taxi until the last drive confirms that you paid, which can take them a long time sometimes.
