Pathadisha
Commuters can track buses/trams/vessels etc. near current location or a stop & get details. Real-time tracking of vehicles is also available with expected time of arrival (ETA) at stops.
This app uses crowdsourced info validated & analysed with other relevant system data and vehicles are ranked accordingly as per crowd.
Pathadisha makes commuters’ journey easier. Some of its important aspects are described below.
Live Tracking
Commuters, about to begin a trip from home/office/other places or anxiously waiting at a bus stop, need every second’s update on location and movement of buses on the way going toward her/his destination. This helps to effectively decide the most preferred option to choose.
Now, with Pathadisha, people can plan effectively to save time she/he had to spend earlier waiting at bus-stops before Pathadisha era.
Tracking vehicles was never easier as it is now.
Users may search buses/trams/ferry boats etc. surrounding a preferred stop or any location as selected in map or by routes, or even by category (like Govt./Private).
ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival)
In order to know ETA of a vehicle at stops, you need to select it on in-app map. Info panel appears at the bottom of the screen with four buttons (In-Route Vehicles, ETA, Share Journey & Crowd Input).
Second (ETA button) one will show ETA of the vehicle at different stops in a line-view. Tap on the Map icon to get the ETA at stops plotted on the route map.
In order to know the ETA of buses approaching a stop, select stop from menu. Vehicles will be shown in map. Press PIS (Passenger Information System) button. It will show list of vehicles approaching towards the stop with ETA.
Share Journey:
Sometimes commuters need to share with others live updates of her/his journey so that they can plan accordingly to join her/him at the destination. Pathadisha makes it easier with an option to share URL with message sharing apps so that the receiver may track live movement & whereabouts of the bus/tram/ferry.
Once you select a bus on the map, tap on the third one (Share icon) out of four options in the information panel at the bottom of the screen; and share tracking link of the selected vehicle with contacts of your choice.
Crowd Info
“How crowded the bus is” – commuters wish to know this information before journey.
Pathadisha indicates it as collected from passengers in buses/trams/ferry. Passengers can give this input based on immediate on-spot experience. System validates, analyses and ranks inputs to publish the most possible info on this as RED (Crowded), YELLOW (Less Crowded), GREEN (Empty Seats Available). Buses appearing in Pathadisha app are shown with such colour codes on top of it.
Journey Planner
A stranger, who is new to a city, or a person, who is not well aware of available routes and options, always finds it very difficult to travel in a city; and thus ends up with confusing and exhausting experiences.
Pathadisha is there to rescue you in such situations (within its coverage area).
Select "Journey Planner" option in the menu. Enter source/destination of your journey; it will list all possible options with routes, distance, approximate journey duration etc.
It can be made more effective with choice of “Direct Journey” or “Multi-hop Journey” options.
ETicket Booking
“Paperless-eTicket” is today’s smart choice towards the Greener World. Pathadisha brings it at your fingertips. Select “Ticket Booking” from menu and get access to eTicket booking system.
Alerts & Notifications
Pathadisha pulls all relevant alerts and notifications published by Transport Dept. regarding emergency route-diversions, new routes and special services in different occasions instantly when it is announced; and makes it available in the “Notifications” section keeping commuters well aware of all such updates.

Worst app. Search option does not work, after typing there is no option to search. It does not give any suggestions as well. So for a layman's perspective one who don't know the name of thes stops this is very confusing. Please fix this as soon as possible, for now uninstalling the app.
I am sitting on a AC bus at Howrah stn to airport. But it is not shown on the app. That means , this app does not update on real time basis. I think this app is not very user friendly. Needs lot of improvement.
Useless App. Clicking on vehicle number to see route it doesnt work. Searching for any destination it doesnt come up in search bar while planning the journey. I mean if you guys cant code well just outsource it to a proper development team based outside bengal
Cannot rely on the information provided by this app. If ur bus is showing in app then its good but still real time data may not be reflected. Few buses which are available realtime in Chalo app are not visible here. It should atleast aim to provide GPS info for all govt and AC buses. Or pls shut this app. Our time is unnecessarily wasted searching buses here.
The app is good. However it does needs a lot of improvements. One thing I have noticed that the bus drivers do not activate their GPS on the buses which makes it unreachable through the app. This affects the time management. I would like to suggest to the developers to include a feature that will prevent the drivers from shutting off their GPS. Also please include a smart/suggestive search feature in the search bar of the app, similar to the Google search showing options when typing in the terms
Good initiative, but long road ahead. The scrolling on the map is almost infuriating. one finger, two finger...Nothing works accurately. sometimes it'll zoom in when i want to scroll, and when i want to zoom, well. Basically, the app becomes pointless if your map is stuck on a particular locality of Kolkata, is it not? please address.
Not working any options whether route, plan your journey or stops, also bus info is not showing while clicking on it. Many buses are also not showing in the map. Need updation.
My feedback and suggestions for Metro epass. There are options for booking of many epasses by 1 person for same slots or specific time which is not correct. Many people are doing it without thinking that it may create problem for another needy person who is not getting any slot. Why don't you ask the traveller to cancel the previous epass before booking the next one. This will help many people to get the slot and no waste of epasses. 2ndly, online recharge is still a big issue with Metro Auth.
Needs a lot of improvements like search for buses and buses which ply between two particular destinations. ETA should also be added. Many buses are not yet available on the map which should be made available. If pathadisha is testing to be a one stop solution for all local commute needs, it should also add the much used autos to its app. Like from where to where autos are available!
No accuracy of Bus routes numbers are shown. Plz Calibrate or make accuracy for this app. So our journey are get more easier and less consuming of time.
This app now not letting users to click on vehicles to show its details up. It's all good on Android 10 phones but not working on Android 11 devices. Please resolve the issue asap.
This app is useless these days, especially if you travel to and from the suburbs. And for some reason, even if you are in proper Kolkata, sometimes some features don't work!
This app was a decent one few years back. Now it's just a deadscreen. Nothing works in it. There is no point of installing it
Great App and Service. Totally Surprised to see that Many Private Buses are Carrying GPS Devices on them. Honestly i never expected that. And about the App, It needs alot of improvement regarding the interface and usability. Interface needs overall for much more simplification and make the app work smoother. It sometimes lags. Provide ETA work. And timing of Buses when they will depart the Stoppages.
As all the other comments I'd also like like to say that this app used to be a great way of finding out anykind of govt. or private bus available as well as routes to your destiny however as of right now absolutely everything has become useless in the application as nothing works at all and no buses are displayed. The application is completely neglected and useless as of now.
The app needs to be updated. Data is not accurate and also not reflects all buses running through a particular area.
Best real time app in my experience.. those with bad reviews must learn navigating in maps .. it's not very much user friendly but easy enough to understand.. ad free and easy to use
It is by no means an app it is hell of an app. It would finish among the top ten worst app available in play store.
Firstly the app is not at all user friendly. I somehow adjusted myself according to the app and was used to the bugs after manipulation in the right way. Unfortunately the app got an update I thought that this update would fix some bugs that persisted. Instead of fixing the bugs the new update turned to be more troublesome in all aspects. The GPS do not work 95% of the time,the data do not load even after zoom in and out multiple times no matter I am on mobile data or a 100mbps wifi. Thumbs down
Gave it a 5 star for it's awesome service. But the latest update ruined it. Just a blank page for every option. Fix the issue and you'll have a 5 star again.
Another worst of the worst app og goverment services😂😂😂 no real time data nothing... Just a map thats it. Please remove from store or update the app properly
The app should be updated with realtime graphing with proper time.. Time is the most important factor as we can know when the arrival/departure is.. Plus the stoppages as indicated in the route.. This app is good but can be a lot Better and convenient for daily commuters. I hope u ppl would look into these issues and resolve them soon.
site is too slow, not very user friendly; routes are not showing when image is tapped..
This has the makings of a useful app. At the moment the main function, to see how far away your bus is, does not work properly. I saw 5 buses pass me at a designated stop that did not appear on the active map. If you wait long enough you will see buses on your route and you can see the route they take, which is useful. Returning to the main map from specific routes often closes the app. A feature, once the main problem is solved, could include an active map that only showed your favourites.
