Pathfinder Adventures

Pathfinder Adventures, the digital adaptation of Paizo Inc.'s Pathfinder Adventure Card Game, translates the world's best-selling Pathfinder Roleplaying Game into an entirely new breed of card game, where players cooperatively battle monsters and villains, and acquire new feats, items, weapons and allies.
Role-players will find the game's character development very familiar. Characters have classes such as fighter, wizard, and rogue, as well as numbers that define strength, dexterity, intelligence, etc. You'll improve your character by acquiring new items, allies, spells, and weapons as you explore and overcome challenges; over time, you'll be able to customize your deck to better suit your own individual vision of your character.

The game can be played solo, or with other adventurers using built-in pass-and-play functionality.

Pathfinder Adventures is free to download and play, however, some game items can be purchased for real money. If you don't want to use this feature, please disable in-app purchases in your device's settings.

A network connection is required to earn in game currency during play.

FEATURES:• Explore the towns, cities, dungeons and landscapes of the Rise of the Runelords campaign, including the fiercely-independent Sandpoint and the goblin-infested isle of Thistletop. • Every locale has been transformed from a card image to beautifully enhanced and animated backdrops.• Reactive cut scenes featuring Pathfinder's iconic characters.• An interactive tutorial ensures the game is easy to learn for new adventurers and veterans of the Pathfinder universe alike.• No physical card game set-up required. Pathfinder Adventures gets players straight into the action.• Multiple adventure profiles so that players can experience the campaign using every character. • Single player and pass-and-play multiplayer gameplay mode.

I am not a player of the paper version of the Pathfinder Adventures card game but I love this app's gameplay nontheless. It's a pity it doesn't have a standard free to play economic model, because paying for the campaign content will likely turn off many people. I honestly think the storyline content is entirely worth what it costs though. The only regret I have is that the game doesn't seem to update with more campaigns, but the existing content is already enough for a while.

This couldve been a fantastic game. I'll never know, because everything is locked behind a paywall. At least sell your game for money instead of sending us forever in an untitled demo of your game. You get one chapter two characters and you can't unlock anymore with gold, only skins of the free characters. I enjoy the gameplay, it's great, but I can't do anything without paying for several microtransactions.

You used to be able to purchase the additional campaigns and characters with in game currency, meaning you would need to grind but it was possible not to spend real money. Now you are forced to pay dollars if you want to actually play the game. I had the entire game unlocked on an old phone (it was incompatible with my new phone so I lost most of my app data) but when I re-downloaded this game, I was willing to grind through again, but it's not even an option anymore. Please change this

I like the game, though I really hope some of the things that I encountered while playing this game is a bug of some sort. For example I finished the 1st adventure with the highest difficulty level, it said that I got a reward, a card and it says on the screen while selecting an adventure or scenario as well that I should get a skill feat for my characters. I didn't receive any of the two. Hope this gets fixed.

Instant pay wall. Spent $2 to get a third character as this is the only way to play the first level. 10 minutes after that, beating the first level is all you get unless you plan on spending $15+ for who knows how many more levels. Would've gladly spent that money on characters and coins but forcing pay to play at the very beginning is a big turn off. I did enjoy the game and mechanics. Just a shame.

This game is free to try and a total blast. The game offers a great level of customization and progression. The music and art is great too. It's free to try because basically once you finish the tutorial you can play one short campaign with the two free characters but after that you'll need to buy campaigns and other characters. A nice feature is you can link your account to the iOS and Steam versions of the game and all your progress and purchases will sync across all platforms.

Enjoyable gameplay, pretty intuitive design and a pretty generally fun game to play. But it only has about 6 hours of gameplay before you reach a pay wall that completely blocks progression. If you don't mind paying two bucks for every character you want to play and $3-15 for each adventure after the first then this may be the game for you! But the prices were way too steep for me to justify supporting the game.

I do not know if my last review was deleted or what, but adding a new one to drop from 2 stars to 1, can not even give it two at this point. The idea is kinda cool, but whatever dice rolling thing they have is just trash tried giving it as much as I could. Bought the goblins mission, and it shows how big of a middle finger this game will give you. One of the missions allows you to fight a bandit before drawing for the turn so 80% chances that I am losing about 60% of the time. Save yourself the grief it's not the game, it is not even that complicated though people think so. To me the mechanics are meant to be trash with bonuses to increase your rolls. There is something here, but it is a long way from where it needs to be.

The first few hours were fun, but it's only worth playing if you're willing to fork over $30-$40+. Everything except the absolute basics are pay-locked. Only 1 of the 7 adventures and 2 of the 12 characters are free. Item variety is great, but storage is ridiculously small (10 items) with no upgrades, making adjusting decks a nightmare. Selling items gets you only one gold, no matter the rarity.

Very torn on this game. Fun gameplay and mechanics, but you hit the paywall early and are extremely limited in character options from the start. I was going to buy the $14.99 adventure pack but realized the game hasnt been updated in over a year and a half. This raises concerns for future device capability and i dont want to spend money on an app that becomes obsolete.

Good game but with one fatal turnoff: the fact that you can lose (exiled forever) your cards in certain scenarios. And, at least for me, it is kinda stressfull the possibility to lose the things I won. I'm not a fan of the whole "exile" mechanic. Also not a fan of the only 10 cards limit sideboard. These are the reason that made me stop playing the game. Too bad because the game (the paid version) is good. 🤷

I downloaded this game because I love every game Obsidian has ever made. That streak was broken with this Pathfinder Adventures. It's a decent game, if it weren't for the fact that the entire game is locked behind mandatory micro transactions. You can't access anything other than the starting adventure, or obtain any new characters without paying. No grinding for in-game gold, either. It's pay-to-play only. Worse, this game is a bit older now. Players used to be able to grind gold for characters, adventures and gear. Normally, most games relax their pay-to-play requirements after a year or so. Instead, the developers of this game have done the reverse. Shame on you, Obsidian!

Look, the game itself is fun and I like the depth in the gameplay. But it costs just over $30 to enjoy the entire game and that's not including the frivolous stuff. Frankly there isn't enough in this game to justify that kind of price. Maybe it's worth $10 tops for everything, but currently it's priced way to high. Thanks for the 3 mission tutorial and flat out wasting my time.

Overall good game although requires paying for the missions (although there's loot crates you don't need to pay). There are rather a number of graphical bugs/glitches and other minor bugs, although this doesn't distract to much. The UI works well but at times could do with better explaining, the is a feel of learning by trial at times. At times games can be limited by the RNG (I seem to get too many fails when above 90%) and the lay of the cards - if boss or henchmen are all buried in stack it's very hard to win.

I bought the Steam version of this, and it was a nice surprise that the Steam and Android version sync up. I've been playing for less than 3 weeks and somehow have spent over 20 hours on just the Steam version. Calling this game free to play is a stretch, it's more of a demo version with 3 beginner quests, and everything else is separate.

Sorry guys, you can't have your cake and eat it too. The devs want you to pay to play and then pay for upgrades. It's a great system, but they are asking as much as some full pc games. Adding three free levels, no character choice, and no character progression adds insult to injury. You can avoid these bad reviews by removing the free version. Sorry Asmodee, there are too many good free games of much higher quality.

Not what I was expecting. This game has almost nothing to do with Roleplaying and the tutorial was long and dry and boring and it never stopped. even after completing the tutorial my gameplay was hampered by more and more "helpful tips". Theres no customizing options early on and almost all of the missions have to be purchased. After 45 min of tutorial grinding I was very disappointed to find that the gameplay continued to be dry.

Game play is good, pretty easy to follow and get into. But the dice rolls are just too random. That's not challenging, that's frustrating. A 50% success rate makes little difference to a 80-90% rate here. You can get a 94% success chance listed and still, somehow I manage to role 4 consecutive failures despite that high success rate. Wth guys?

I really enjoyed this game. But imagine my surprise when I finish the first adventure, and find that you have to pay to do anything else in the game. This is not "pay to unlock the full version" (I would be fine with that). They make you pay for every individual level, plus charging extra for each character for your party. You can buy most of it in a discounted bundle but it still doesn't include everything. The nickel-and-diming totals well over $30 to access the full game. No thank you.

An entertaining enough game but soooooo buggy. Numerous glitches and freezes. I was considering buying an expansion but just had a glitch and freeze on the final stage requiring a forfeit of the level in order to restart the game, seeing how a relaunch only sets up the same exact glitch. So considering the multiple times I've had this happen, I won't be buying anymore products from this developer.

Tutorial was best thing about this crud. Pay 2 Play hits home shortly thereafter. Default adventure needs 3 characters minimum to be played. They give you two and expect you to pay real money for the third. You can use gold for the palette swapped version of two of the characters you already have, or just have clones. But no one wants that garbage. Devs need to make something that isn't a complete waste of everyone's time. Uninstalled after one hour. Do not recommend, 0/10, still too high for it

Tra. G. Jan 7, 2022

The app is actually a good implementation of the game. The problem is that the card game itself is highly, highly random and doesn't feel like you're playing an RPG at all, nevermind playing Pathfinder specifically. "choose one of 5 routes. At the end there might be a boss. If there wasn't, choose again." Maybe you get lucky and choose the right route. Maybe you don't get lucky and you waste your time because you lose through no fault of your own. Yay.

nice game, had fun on the first adventure... but all others are locked behind a payment, super greedy model, the core game play is cool and i enjoyed it, but around 2.50€ for each adventure is moneygrabs! I could even look past the heroes being pay to play but the adventures and progression should be free. let me know when a sale goes live, i might buy some stuff
