Maybe you found a couple of other “friend” apps, but then after trying them, realized that they were full of people looking for more than friendship.Well guess what – Patook is an app strictly for friendships. So strictly in fact, that we have developed our own automatic method to detect when someone is flirting. We’ve even included a no-flirting clause in our terms of service so we ban such users. Any person who attempts to flirt via the app will get their account permanently banned before their message even makes it into your inbox. The result? Women, men, couples and others on this app have the same goal and the same expectations.If you’re on Patook, it’s to make great platonic friends. Period.If that’s not enough to sway you, Patook has proprietary methods that match you to people who are similar to you. That means people who like the same things, and also dislike the same things. It calculates a point score for each user and tells you how compatible you are with them. So, instead of picking your “friends” based on giant pictures of them, you actually look through shared interests and pick which interests you care the most about.

* The matches tab shows you nearby users who you have a good chance of getting along with. Patook is centered around connecting compatible people together. The score shown on the top right is the result of your point system.
* The discussions tab acts as a local bulletin board where user can post various topics, discussions, jokes or rants. Discussions are visible to everyone within your area, so by posting to them you are effectively broadcasting messages to the neighborhood. People can then upvote and respond to the topics and the most interesting topics get surfaced.
* The point system gives users more control in finding compatible users. For example, you can give 20 points to women, 10 points to people who speak French, and 20 points who are originally from the United States. The point count shows up next to the user's names.
* Patook takes security and privacy very seriously. We have made as many privacy options as we could think of available. Our moderators are also happy to respond to any feedback from you.

Feb 19, 22 - it'd be real cool if the app let me upload photos. It hasn't been working going on 2 months now. A dev reached out to me on the app asking if there's any improvements that can be made, I responded and never heard back from them, nor has the issue been improved. Old review:: Entire conversation disappeared. I found my friend on Instagram though and it turns out to be an issue with the app. Make sure you exchange contact information if you meet make friends with someone.
Your experience will vary greatly based on what your are looking for (in-person vs virtual friends). I'm using the app to meet people in-person and online. I'm in a major US city. I find it easy to connect with people in my area and across the world online. Most members are responsive and the app gives an ETA for replies, so no need to get anxious. I like that you can message without matching, this allows for more spontaneous connections. No issues with the ui or notifications.
App worked fine for a while. Then all of a sudden, my account started to fail in sending messages to people. Had to start a new account to get around this, and proceeded to have both my accounts deleted and my IP blocked. Even worse, all subsequent accounts I create end up broken and useless, regardless of device or internet connection. And to top it all off, their support email basically goes unchecked, or else they basically ignore any emails you send to them. Would not recommend at this point
I want to love this app because it would be perfect if it did what it's supposed to do. Unfortunately right now it's so buggy it's useless. Just some of the issues that I encountered: * Messages don't get delivered even if marked as such; note that asking for other messengers gets you banned. * Filters and settings aren't applied correctly. * Public posts appear and disappear seemingly at random. * Changing my password didn't work (I almost locked myself out of my account). Please fix!!
It's what it says. No one has flirted or anything, all just good and friendly. I've made one good friend so far, hoping to make more. The filters are super useful. There are a lot of things to fill out on your profile (optional of course, but needed for more relevant matches), which I love! The interface is pretty good. Definitely give it a try if you want an app to make friends on and no other has worked. :)
The concept was great, it was easy and fun to create a profile and find friend matches. But the bugs and AI flaws make it unusable. Matches constantly disappear which leaves you unable to continue talking to someone (sometimes in the middle of a conversation). Users are flagged randomly which prevents messages from being sent. Enough people have complained about this that it's clearly a widespread issue. People are not blocking you or deleting their accounts this frequently - fix it.
I was using it fine until I Factory Reset my device and now it won't let me log in. I've contacted support and nothing so far (2 years now) . Such a shame, I was talking to some really nice people. Guess that's what I get for using an app with features from the 80s that doesn't even connect to your email or Google account for login... I will never recommend or trust Patook again. But in theory, in concept, it's a good app. It's just very sloppily built. It's been years since it was stable.
It's a pretty good concept, but for some reason suddenly you might find yourself unable to send or receive messages. Really disappointing to begin making some friends then have them think you're ghosting them when it's really that suddenly the chats just stop working. Update: Months later and emails to support go unanswered. I found my new friends outside Patook, but the app continues to do nothing. So I was able to test with them, and it's a Patook issue.
Okay, so it's a great idea and the finding people aspect of it is great, however, the algorithm it uses to see if you're moving too fast, or trying to date, or the algorithm it uses to see if youre trying to ACTUALLY harm yourself needs to be tweaked. For example, I was talking to someone about fallout 76, I typed in the numbers 7 and 6, and it prevented me from sending because it thought I was sending a phone number. The algorithm doesn't make room for sarcasm.
It glitches a lot. Sometimes the messages that you get will disappear along with the person's profile before you get to open it up to read it. Most of the time no one really answers back when you reach out or there is a few conversations here or there and they completely dissappear. It seems as though people do not make an effort to make friends on this app which makes it pointless.
App was great when I first got it, made some friends, met some people it was just like I hoped. But recently it seems to have broken completely, I'm not sure the messages I send are being received or maybe the replies are lost but I haven't gotten a message back in months and searches no longer find new people at all, such a disappointment
I really enjoy this app. It is simple to use but has plenty of opportunities to choose the type of person you want to talk to, and notifies you every time there is movement. The people on this app are truly looking for friends (I figured there would be plenty of weird people trying to date, but no!) and I have had plenty of great conversations.
Buggy and unusable. At first messages would delay or skip, notifications wouldn't go off. And now I've been completely unable to send or receive messages for a week now and I've left several users potentially thinking I'm ignoring them because the app is broken. And apparently this happens a lot. This is literally the least functional app I've ever downloaded. I mean how hard is it to maintain a working messenger when that's the primary function of the app?
Deserted. Noone uses it. Doesn't appear to be marketed and noone appears to manage it either. No response to support emails. Lots of easy to remedy technical issues with both the website and app that should've been addressed. The only pro about it is it's free. A shame really as a friendship app would help a lot of people in these Covid lockdown times and just generally as many people are isolated now. A sad waste of a great opportunity.
No human contact on here, it's a ghost town. Every message I send to anyone remains "Not yet read" even when the app notifies me the recipients are "Online now!" or "Were last online today." The app provides zero feedback on why the messages aren't seen (filteres by their AI? by the recipient's preferences?) and so it's actually super isolating. I verified my account, filled out my profile, added photos, all of that. Sent two messages to support, no response a week later. Abandonware maybe?
Downloaded, set up a profile completely, and reached out to several people. After about a week, I started to get the impression that out of the gate, my account had been "shadowbanned". The reason I say this is because my wife had made an account at the same time, and could never find my profile (even after removing all "rules". None of the several messages I had sent out ever got a reply. The app works well, buy the website is broken. It's a cool idea, but since it's complicated and unintuitive to use, I will be uninstalling. Support never got back me when asking questions, so it seems you're on your own if you have problems.
Tried this a while back, was a little buggy then, seems to mostly work now. But filtering in list view, keeps showing people you dismissed when refresh. A great idea, unfortunately, nobody's using it. Searched for age 21-110 of any gender, broadest possible matching and there's only one active user in 50 miles. When I tried it a few years back, there were no active users. That's really the only problem: lack of users (though, I live in deep south Alabama, so... maybe better in metro areas?)
The perfect app for finding strictly friends online and possibly irl. The interface is great and very complete. I haven't faced any glitched fo far. It's just a shame that it's not that popular where I live, so not many people use it, thus, limiting the amount of friends you can make
The application idea is really interesting. But I think that have a lot to improve. Has many people with the same profile but is really hard start a conversation, cause you never know when the person will return and answer you. I found a lot people like me, but I simply can't keep a conversation with them. Please improve this app and help a lot people to meet each other, so I can return to use too 🙏🙏🙏🙏
So much potential and made some good friends at the start but then messages and profiles were disappearing. After contacting support, things worked and then just stopped. None of my messages send and no one can message me. Even messaging the tech guy doesn't work. Emailed support multiple times and just got ignored. And they have a premium option and think they can justify buggy apps and non existant support. Such a shame.
Profiles and matching criteria are really in-depth, which is good. It's buggy though: I've had chats disappear entirely for a few days. Users are very shy and honestly awful at conversation; I don't mind slow replies, but there's a lot of dry texters here which is difficult. And you have to deduce who recently liked you; it won't tell you, just show your recent visitors. I'll be moving to Out when it releases June 1st (queer friendship app) in hopes people will be more talkative there.
