The app worked great for the first 3 years, this new update has totally destroyed any usefulness of the camera. The problem first was that the app was no longer connecting to the device via 4g and only on home wifi. The app is updated, but when trying to get into the camera to update the pawbo device it crashes every single time. I've uninstalled app, reset pawbo device, followed all instructions that were given by customer service to no avail. So frustrating & disappointing.
Extremely poor connection, works OK on WiFi, although still buffers. When using 4G the app is completely unusable, making the product pointless. It is the latest app software, and the device has also been updated today to the latest. Can this be fixed? If not, I will be returning the product shortly.
Pawbo apparently doesn't like long wifi passwords. Had to shorten it to get it to connect. Once connected, I tried to connect to the Pawbo but it just showed a loading spinner for more than 5 minutes. Tried several times with no luck. It works for our friends, though, so that's why I give it at most 2 stars.
It only works if you are on the same wifi network, which makes it completely useless. I have the latest version of the app (1.5.8) and it does not work either, so this is not a solution. It would be a good idea to solve this quick, because the product is just worthless without a working software!
Wont connect when not on wifi and keeps crashing on wifi right after connecting. Pawbo responded with instructions, but they don't help. Now when standing right next to the pawbo the app only opens for a second then crashes. Can't even get to #2 on their "fix".
Just now I spent an hour to connect to pawbo using two different phones and 2.4g wifi but the app keeps on saying connection failed. I tried all 3 options but nothing worked...there seems to be an issue with the app based on recent reviews.
Experience exactly like other recent reviewers; won't connect unless at home on same wi-fi and crashes immediately. Have unistalled/reinstalled/reset. Worked flawlessly before recent 'update.' Fix the bugs or I'm throwing into the trash!
It's connected but nothing works I have tried to Google how to fix it but no one else seems to have had this problem. I press the play button and it just keeps spinning I can't even use the controls let alone use the camera. Please help!!!!!!!
So up until a week ago everything was fine. Now I can connect to my Pawbo only if I am connected to my home wifi which kind of defeats the purpose. Whatbthe hell is going on?!?!? Update Nov 2020: so I reset and reconnected my Pawbo and I can't get it work. Also why does this app now need an approval to record audio and make phone calls?!
The app and device are poorly engineered. The video feed cuts out constantly, the connection to the device fails most of the time, and the setup took multiple attempts.
Works as advertised, video lag is due to wireless connection not product. Decent quality. Unfortunately, lag makes it tough to use the laser dot.
Despite the bad reviews, I picked up a Pawbo at a pawn shop. Connected it to my 2.4ghz wifi network.. Its not horrible.. I can see my cat, but using the lazer pointer is impossible manually.. Seems like a great product.
Excellent product! We love it and so do our pets. If your video is cutting out, it's due to your internet or home network, not this product. We have extremely slow satellite internet and yet this product works as advertised. Keep up the great work Pawbo!
I'm constantly having to force close the app to get it to work. Then the video quality is so poor regardless of my connection. Great idea but poor implementation.
I can't connect to the camera unless it is on the same wifi network as my phone since a few days ago, can't access their support and there is no information about it anywhere. The solution given worked for a while but now the problem came back. Can't you keep your servers online?
Once again I can only connect to the camera via my home Wi-Fi after the latest update - connecting via mobile networks or other WiFi networks does not work. My dog is not happy.
Since a few days ago the app doesn't work outside of the home/away from the camera. Super disappointing because it's great when it works
Away from home and cannot access the Pawbo. What's the point of a release when it breaks things?? Unfortunate and disappointing! Obviously can't do the "fix" which is stupid because who uses the Pawbo when they're sitting next to it. It's meant to be used when you're NOT home. This is so annoying!
the laser doesn't respond well when manually using it, you can't use the Pawbo when you're out of WiFi range or on data, but overall a pretty neat toy that my cats enjoy especially the treat dispenser
it won't connect to android phones at all, unless set up using an iPhone then add the android phone as extended user.
Cant setup the app on an android phone. I enter my wifi password and click next but nothing happens. Sending machine back for refund. Waste of time.
Can't set it up tried numerous times unit says ready for set but won't recognize or connect to internet even with wps Uninstaller and reinstalled app doesn't work
This app reads your contacts, but doesn't say so in the permissions here. this is a Taiwanese product, so Chinese. can't trust it.

Worked great until you decided to "fix" the app. The new version doesn't work at all and now I have an expensive piece of junk. Yes the app is up to date. Yes the hardware has been updated. No the camera or video recorder will not work. No it will not work at all unless I am connected to the same wi fi as the Pawbo is. Anywhere else and it's useless. Why do you people always have to fix something when it's not broke? Now it is broke. Thanks for nothing.
