Like others, I cannot even get to the login page. It is a blank screen with the logo. And I have already tried uninstalling/reinstalling. Same outcome. UPDATE: I cleared the cache for the app on my phone and it works again! Thank you. UPDATE #2: it happened again 😐. Very annoying to have to repeatedly clear the cache and enter all info again. Please fix.

Simplii Financial as a banking institution is excellent. But this application is garbage. Everytime I try to open my account I get an error message that I can only remove by resetting my phone. It keeps saying something about a network but does problem persists even when I swap internet providers and swapping chips with other people temporarily. It's really annoying but at least I can still access it. If anyone knows a way to remove this please let me know

Literally cannot even get into the login part. Whenever I open the try, it just gets stuck on the white page with the icon. So goddamn annoying. Only way to potentially fix it to uninstall the app, but then that means I have to set up everything again like my card # and biometrics. SO DUMB. Also this app doesn't give you notifications for transactions going on in your account

Previously, a calendar was displayed for the 'Upcoming Transactions'. It is now not there anymore. I found it extremely useful to visualize the current date and my next automatic transaction between accounts. Can the calendar please be put back in the 'Upcoming Transaction' section. I would have rated this a 5/5, but due to the removal of a feature that I often used, my rating has been reduced to a 3/5.

It's solid in that it's simple to use. However, mobile deposit is a pain. The app keeps closing on me whenever I want to take a picture of the cheque. I uninstalled and reinstalled it, I turned on and off on my phone. None of these work. For a bank that advertises it's simplicity in its mobile and digital use, Simplii Financial needs to step up there mobile deposit game.

The App won't let the camera on my new Redmagic 7 phone take pics of my cheques. Permissions are set right but it still refuses. Still works on my old samsung s9 though. Go figure. The app works fine for everything else.

The worst banking app ever! I am very disappointed, when that crest thing comes up on the screen with the tracer going around all the time it will not work. Tried several times to log in, finally log in and try to pay a bill and it keeps freezing up. Go home and use the computer and no problems at all! The app is junk!

Can you guys please fix your e-transfers? It always says the passwords do not match when trying to do an e-transfer. Even when they 100% do match. Or it will say that you can't use unique characters. When I have not at all. My whole family is having this issue.

This has been my app for years and until now it would have been a 5star. Randomly I tried to open my app yesterday and it would only load a white screen with the logo. I uninstalled and redownloaded but same issue, then cleared cash and data, still have the same issue. I've not completely lost access to my banking information that I use frequently and it's extremely frustrating as this bank is online only!

Started an application for a new chequing account on April 1. Had a move and requested for an address change. Been on 5 calls already and nothing has happened. Plain Horrible. I can't even close my application as well. Escalated twice and nothing useful has happened. Just keep hearing the same thing every time "we'll fix this in 2 business days". Shame on your time promises . I think I need to reach your CEO to get this resolved.

Way too many promos and pop-ups. Makes the app very frustrating to use and slow to open. Almost every sign-in you need to wait for some promo message to load before you're able to do anything.

My experience is lowered by an app that is managed in a way that I'd say is inadequate for a bank that is online only. Needs a face lift and some better code to make it a bit lighter weight. I love this bank and won't be switching. But wanted to mention my gripes. I do recommend.

2022 update. Nothing was done in the past 4 years since I asked for basic notifications for transactions and statements. Does anyone still use this bank? Can't get T5 PDF even on the web, really?!? 2018. I was hoping to get at least basic notifications in the app since Simplii's web interface is way too basic to offer it. Sadly, there isn't a way to get a push notification base on transaction type, limits or anything else. It's still mid 1990-ies for Simplii.

3 starts because they removed calendar view for upcoming transactions. It gave an easy to see broad overview of transactions setup that are coming up but now it's just a list. Please bring back the calendar view.

This app is a joke, it never sent my code I needed to purchase my item. The finger print that is supposed to be legit to identify myself on is a joke. Thank you to the fraud department that blocked my visa so I have to go to a Canada post to identify myself, will never happen. Garbage app, CIBC should be ashamed of themselves to be apart of Simplii! No thanks, there are other banks that offer free checking accounts and better visa credit card.

App crashing after latest update. After the most recent app update the app crashes as soon as I open it I cannot even get to the screen to try to log into my account. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall the app as well as clear cache and app data. Update: 21:50pm MST. For the first time my app no longer crashes when I open it. I'm not sure what they changed but they obviously did something.

I don't know if the app updated anytime recently but I no longer can log in muchless if it even opens. The app won't even open. As soon as I tap it, it closes. Like it crashes. I read the reviews and other people seem to have the same problem. I read the suggestion CIBC gave to one customer, telling them to perhaps delete the cache or reinstalling the app...... I have done both. The problem still persists. Please fix this problem, as this is an inconvenience.

UPDATE: App seems fine again a few hours later. No app updates in between. Pretty obvious they were pushing something by network to the app on load that was crashing it - and I'd bet it was a new ad campaign. Glad it's fixed now, but leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Test before prod! OLD: New version is broken. Will not even open...crashes while the splash is showing, never gets further. Tried clearing cache, storage, reinstalling... nothing changed. Was a great app until this. Need fix ASAP!!!

Generally a good app, but there's a problem with 2FA. No push notification and alternatively when opting for email I don't even receive that. Will gladly update once this has been corrected, but as of now the app is useless.

No issues until this morning. 8 hours ago it was fine, now suddenly the app keeps crashing every time I go to open it. As per instructions given to other reviewers below, I've true clearing the cache, I've tried uninstalling & reinstalling the newest version of the app. I've tried using it both on WiFi and on Data, only while at home in the GTA of Ontario and yet it still keeps crashing & saying that there's an error & bugs in the app that need to be fixed

What a scam - call the customer service number that they provide and you'll get a pre-recorded message telling you that their number has changed and if you want the new number, it will cost you $4.99....no live chat, no phone number just an email address left as a form of "contact us". Come on guys, do better!!

Most Annoying Banking Experience so far. App functionality is limited and it is quite hard to get a hold of someone who actually knows what to do, that too after almost an hour on hold. Got transferred to a voicemail last time after the agent gave me a bunch of misleading info. Keep debiting the wrong account so that they could collect the NSF fee. Frustration to the core. Keep away from the lure of everything online.

It does what it's supposed, every workflow is seamless and explicitly defined. The layout is intuitive which is rare these days, and everything just works without crashes. Annoying product promotion as with all banks and websites but it's as minimal as any other app I've seen so you can't fault them for making a free service that notifies you of upsells without a screen full of overlays or pop-ups. Just a slide away notification that doesn't block your interaction. Why 122mb though?! It's huge!

Well, just like everyone else says, since the update the app won't even open. Crashes on open. I've done all the suggested actions (clear cashe, restart phone, delete and reinstall app. Etc) still doesn't work. Funny how all the responses from the business is trying to make it sound like user error when it is CLEARLY a problem with the app when everyone has the same problem.

Simplii continues to send marketing messages via Android notifications. There's no setting to distinguish ACTUAL messages (like security alerts) from their advertising. They think their marketing messages are important enough to spam to your device; unfortunately, when all your messages are important, none of them are important. The only solution is to block notifications from this app entirely. They want people to call them to get the spam to stop, rather than giving a goddamned setting in the app.
