I don't like how the auto backup only collects the media files and doesn't upload everything as they were in there file directories. It makes it hard for me to easily access my files from the auto backup ones from my other devices. Especially files that I cannot remember their names. And also users should be allowed to choose the type of files they wish to backup. Not just limited to photos and videos. The flexibility to give users more control will make this app and service 1 of the greatest.
I used to use MEGA, but all of a sudden i could not upload anymore on both my Android 11 phone and tablet! Nothing changed in the setting, and enough space too! On an Android 8.1 phone it does work, so it seems to be a compatibility problem. So i needed an alternative to MEGA and pCloud is it!!! Less free storage, but it works with the exact same settings!!! It works flawlessly, so this is my new storage app, and i recommend it to EVERYONE!!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I had this app installed a long time ago and there were a lot of problems. I am so glad I reinstalled it. its now almost perfect, has an improved in every way. The only reason I gave it a 4 stars is because uploading folders. I had about 50 folders to upload. It wouldn't let me select all 50 at a time, I had to do each individual. I will be uploading a lot more folders and removing them so I've been so I really need to upload many at a time. Other than that, quick and easy.
Uploads have become exceptionally slow or just failing. Looks like other users are experiencing this too but there's still no fix. Otherwise normally the app does the basics well but misses 2 big opportunities: (1) doesn't allow the upload of entire folders (and their content files); (2) while there's an music player with offline functionality, it's not very user-friendly
Very good app but the only issues I was having was moving around file to different folders. After you clicked on the folder it doesn't do anything. So I ended up going online (Desktop) to move them manually. It's a pain but I got what I needed done. I hope they can fix it.
It's one of the best alternatives to Google Drive and Microsoft OneDrive. But please make sure to pick the right region for your data to be placed in their data centers (Available option is United States and Europe). If you decide to change the region, they will charge you $20 for the fee to do so. After picking the region, CHECK THE SPEED TEST on their official website after you logged in, to test the bandwidth between your ISP and pCloud. This is important before you pay the services.
Been using it for a while and liked it. 2021-12-05 update Now there is a ridiculously large vertical space between folders in list view. The UI designer responsible for that has the wrong job. 2022-03-04 Gui problem still not fixed. Opening a picture in the app and choosing download does not put it in download folder. App is getting worse.
seems to work seamlessly! I will continue with the free version for a while, If no issues then I will upgrade. I used nordlocker but have issues syncing between computer and cloud and my mobile device and cloud. I like pcloud because it is a ZERO knowledge encrypted service. No access to anyone except for me!
This is a great place to store back ups and share files. I'm a music producer and this is great way for me to share ideas with other artists for collaboration. And decent music player built it. i haven't used all the feature yet. but its been perfect for my needs so far.
Best solution so far in the cloud, regarding better syncing and accessing any file in seconds. But as an advanced user, I am expecting more. If it could add as offline drive like GDrive or OneDrive in Android, it would replace the external storage to play music and access files on the fly
This is probably the worse android app I ever used. This trash will auto-update even if you disable it. I've been spending a lot of money on pCloud and I have absolutely no control over the application or my files. Also they are now forcing the use of a horrendous internal video player and they don't allow to set a better one as default. Stay away of this jerks.
I've bought the lifetime license for pCloud and love it. Using it for 2 years now... There are always improvements that couldbemade but overall it has been cheaper and more usefull than the other streaming serices i used since i have a large storage and dont have to worry about missing a payment and getting locked out of my data.
Bought the lifetime plan so will be updating my review if I see improvement. I've tried all major cloud providers like Dropbox, One drive, Webstorage, and Google Drive. Pcloud is probably best value for storing and sharing media (photos, videos, mp3, etc). Took me 10 days to upload 800Gb worth of data using desktop. Automatic upload is slow on my mobile especially if it's a video. Simple interface. Not useful for collaboration (word, excel, powerpoint). I hope upload speed can improve.
Avoid this service. Over time your files will become corrupted. Uploads and downloads are extremely slow. You'll run into random bugs with each application. Even though the lifetime plans seem like a good price, they're not worth the frustration.
Love this app. Works pretty much as good as any other cloud storage and I love that it has a Linux app too (I use that almost exclusively). What this app does better than any other is lifetime plans. I bought the lifetime 2TB storage plan and now I never need to worry about online storage ever again! They won a long time customer with that.
Great app, very good service. But I can't upload videos, as every time I try it says "oops! Something went wrong". Which is very frustrating, because the very reason why I got the premium of this app is to store my videos
Go with Google. Pcloud even though lifetime, one cost option sounds awesome. The application itself isn't that good. worst part, zero instructions step by step to figure stuff out. You just have to figure things out. It's so defeating to wonder what folders things are getting backed up to, how backup and archive work etc. I email for days to get piece mail support. It's just trash.
On my laptop, I can move entire directory structures (with subdirectories and files) both to and from pcloud. Tell me how to do that in the app and 3 stars becomes 5 stars. Remember, both to and from pcloud. Response to dev: exactly. If it's an android issue, what's stopping you from creating the top level, transferring each file one by one, and then doing the same for subdirectories? Working your way through each level until the whole directory tree is copied/moved. Very simple.
It's a really well built app. All the features you can want in the web browser work in the app and well. It's easy to use and across multiple devices.
Great App. Everything works great. It would be perfect though if you guys implement some basic useful UI/UX features like : *) starred folder *) create a shortcut of a folder for quick access from phone's home page. Do you guys consider user's suggestions to implement in future releases ?
Updated review: uploading to crypto folder failes regularly (requires addition interaction to continue) and is noticable slower then uploading in the normal folder. BIG missing function is, that auto upload uploads all images in the same folder, it should be sorted relative to the selected folders on the phone (folder x->x, folder y ->y, not x and y in one folder in pcloud) OG: everything work nicely, request upload, share directly or via link, auto upload and the crypto folder.
Has trackers. It also scans the hash of your files to see if you have copyrighted materials. I no longer consider pCloud private for these reasons. Also, I cannot turn off the annoying "Free up device storage" notification without turning off critical notifications such as file upload notices.
Absolutely the best storage app. Because you can actually just buy a lifetime plan rather than subscription. App is great, works just like the Web. Only problem I've had is getting images to download to the phone from it sometimes. 4.9/5 still though.
Create a subfolder in pcloud from your phone to move files to the desktop and the desktop can't see the folder. Exporting is not intuitive and you can't define what folders to actually back up from your phone. Emailing files is quicker and easier
I was very happy with the app until I suddenly noticed a huge drop in my battery life. The battery graph shows its eating up to 23.7% of the battery. But after the last update, the battery drain changed to normal. it's a six star app.
Doesn't even work 80% of the time. Takes forever to upload and when I try to download my stuff onto my phone it doesn't even download no matter if I force quit the app and try again. It doesn't even show anything trying to be downloaded despite the number of times I pressed download.
Great but I'm getting issues with notifications. Once my uploads finish the notification that says it's finished won't close unless I disable notifications and re enable them. This happens every time I get a notification from pcloud.
GRID view, finally. Thought that would never happen... Was so not user friendly to browse through your photos in LIST view with extra small preview. Thanks. Btw, pCloud is great cloud service. Fast, reliable, powerful features, secure (zero knowledge option). I recommend (despite the fact that there servers are located in US)
