So far after one day of use, I have not been able to see who waves at me, also chat feature only shows people from out of state, and when looking for local moms, if I accidentally skip and go back, if I switch screens, the options are gone and I have no results even when I change the settings to go out into 65+miles. The only feature that appears to maybe work are the podcasts.
So far I really enjoy the app. It has a lot more than just meeting new people -live discussions, live chats, groups, advice from experts. A major flaw to me is having to pay to see who is trying to connect. I understand only disclosing is when a match is made to ensure compatibility, but I think it's trying to hard to be like Tinder. Also I noticed it shows people way out of my location range. If it would fix those 2 things to me it would be great
An obnoxious flashback to online dating. If you specifically request LOCAL matches, you'll get them far outside your range. There's no way to turn that feature off, even if you're willing to accept fewer matches. Few women responded to messages in the first place, with even fewer sending the first message. Now that there's a fee to see who waves, it's just a time waster. I'd like to make couple friends, not single friends, but there's no way to screen for that. Good idea. Poor execution.
I like this app in general, it helps to find other moms at a new place for me, good idea! It's a little bit inconvenient to receive so many notifications though, without a possibility to choose only needed, such messages, for example. Or I couldn't find this feature.
I'm disappointed. I thought this would be real good but it's more like match dot com where you have to pay for date or more interaction. if you miss a wave you have to pay to see who it was. if you miss a message you have to pay to see it. swipe left swipe right for matches and seems the only FREEBIE that come thru easily are in another state not nearby neighborhoods.
The discovery settings are useless. Was hoping to find some local mom's for play dates but it kept returning people from much much much farther than the distance radius. It was also providing children well outside of the child's age setting as well. I would have much rather present it back that there was no one local to me versus providing me poor data. The concept is there but the execution needs to be worked on.
I like the principle and it's working slowly -although there's areas that need improvement. I've contacted Peanut back in March after paying to see waves and I am still not able to see them (for some reason!). 2 months later and after several emails, the problem still isn't fixed. A bit disappointing really as I would love to connect with those waving at me!
A Buzzfeed article directed me to the app and I thought it might be cool to find a place that's exclusive to women, but I'm annoyed by the constant notifications and the lack of general settings. I don't see much as far as Groups go either, but maybe I'm not looking hard enough.
I joined this app in hopes of finding friendship and community and I found just that. The app is straight forward and easy to use. I found moms who were near and far and was able to have successful meetups and playdates. This app truly helped me during a time in my life where I really needed extra support. Definitely recommend.
This app was an absolute gift to me living abroad and being a first time mom. I made one of my very best friends here in Italy through the app and I have connected with many amazing women as a result. I really highly recommend this for anyone needing a bit of support or friendship or even random helpful information and affirmation on being a mom!
Completely useless search function. I set the search to only show me mums who live within 5km and have children 9-12. It forces you to see peeps outside this area or with children of different ages if it runs out of options... But that is completely pointless. I'd rather have less options and only see local mums with a child close in age to my own. That's the reason I'm using the app, and I'd like to have a choice. Instead, I'm seeing mums who live 40 mins away and are pregnant with their first!
This app have been a great space where I have connected with several women all over the place. Is been for me a space where I can talk and hear about different experiences. I love the pods where I was able to connect with other moms and get to hear some professional advices about parenting.
I love this app and very happy it exists! I love being able to click on the app, and talk with moms just like me. You can flip through and see who's near you and who isn't which makes everything so much easier. Breaks the ice between you and other moms looking to connect. Love the concept and happy to be apart of this community.
The idea of this app is great and I was excited for it, but you have to pay a fee in order to see who has waved at you, which is ridiculous. You'll only connect with each other of you both happen to randomly wave at each other, and the chances of that happening are slim. It feels more like a dating app that's trying to get money rather than a way to help moms connect. Just another app trying to suck money out of lonely/vulnerable moms.
Although the app is free to download, the main purpose of the app - to make friends - costs money. Now that you have to pay to see who has waved at you, the app is a waste of time. Having to wait to "match" with someone, which is free, limits how fast and how many true connections can be made. Imagine going through an entire pregnancy with out matching with someone? Essentially this new feature may lead to failure to make meaningful connections during a time where support is needed.
Peanut features lots of different groups for all interests and lifestages. It's a fantastic women only community, a safe place to discuss topics such as infertility, childbirth, raising children and menopause. I've built some amazing friendships on this app. I've had a few technical issues with the app, but customer support has fixed them all.
I have been on this app for a little over a year and it's the best mom forum I am apart of. I've met so many women on this app that I can connect, share and relate with. I never feel judged and feel like I can get honest true support from women who know what I'm going through or experiencing. This app has a cool feature like badges which encourages you to engage and chat , also it has so many groups you can join you'll never feel left out,it also has a feature where you can group call I love it!
Completely useless unless you pay. You can view people but they probably won't know if you're trying to reach out to them and vice versa. Edit in response: If wave is a premium feature that I haven't paid for, why are you sending me useless notifications telling me someone has waved at me? It's a very annoying / disjointed user experience. It's certainly not making me want to pay that's for sure!
I installed this app back in Jan 21 and have used it almost every week since. I've found some really helpful groups that I've joined, particularly in relation to IVF, where one can crowd source tips and tricks and this has been a great comfort whenever I've needed someone to share how I'm feeling, especially when other social media hasn't felt like the appropriate place to do so. I haven't engaged with the paid functions of the app, but all of the above was free. I would certainly recommend it!
Very Easy app to use and has enough number of fields to be able to know something about a person without giving asking for everything in detail or having a lot of mandatory fields. Since I started using this app I have been able to make some good connections.
I used to love this app, but as I am not in a position to be spending money on apps (maternity leave can be a tough time $) it is now pretty useless as you are unable to see who wants to connect with you unless you pay. It makes it really difficult to make connections with people who have similar interests. I do enjoy the forums however, and will keep using those until you need to pay for those also.
Loved it at first but recently the posts have seemingly all disappeared. Like, I'll get a notification of a new post in a group I'm in, I'll click on it, and the post is gone. This is happening 90% of the time. I go into the group and it still isn't there. Sometimes people delete posts but 90% of the time is hard to believe especially for non sensitive content. Sadly, the app no longer functions and is just taking space on my phone.
It is a nice site to meet mums (as its female only). Only problem I find is people aren't so good at replying or the conversation doesn't last. I have swapped numbers with some lovely ladies which I hope will turn into friendships. Also, once you enter your search criteria and you have gone through that it shows you everyone else. I would prefer it didn't. Even if I have no more matches left. You can only try....
Edit: I understand why you could never see waves and i would never get a clear response as to why. You now have to pay for them. You have no idea who waived at you. It is super confusing. The team don't seem bothered about fixing it . I've also noticed the new profiles dont have a blurb of themselves rather than just ticking boxes, for example their star sign etc. Could be such an awesome app but is very lacking.
Ok there was NO MENTION of having to PAY to see who waves at you! What on earth! All through the app setup, download and DESCRIPTION in the app store, there is no mention of premium. Maybe if the app was honest from the start, I'd consider paying. But this is straight up a scam. If I could post a screencap I would.
I noticed another person with my phone model has this same problem. The search function does not work I put 5-11 and 80% that pops up is expecting mothers or newborns and half are in another state. I change the options and it doesn't change who I see. Neither the distance or age search seem to work. I would like the app more if that feature worked it's hard when you find friends over an hour and a half away, but barely anyone popping up nearby.
Its a good app. It seems to be mainly women from America and London. Was hard to connect with Aussie mums for that reason. Especially when you ask advice or look for advice and it's based from things in another country which don't exist in your local shops ie. Nappy rash cream etc
It's definitely a good app and there is a good community but it's essentially tinder for mom friends. you get a little blurb and some pictures and you swipe, you can only communicate if you both swipe each other. I've connected with a few people but it kinda feels superficial. I do enjoy the forum section though. Lots of good communication there.
I absolutely love this App and hands down give it 5 stars.. I have connected with a little over 25 women and spoke to most of then even if it was just small chat. This group Rocks with all the Podcasts that we can be apart of and the support we get from each other has been great. I don't think there is much I can complain about when it comes to this Group.
The concept sounded really good to me, looking for friends locally in a similar situation however I get people suggested to me who are miles away! The other users unfortunately do not seem to be able to hold conversations or ask questions back, quite disheartening and very hard to create some meaningful connections. I also find many posts including my own do not get any responses to, again really disheartening the app needs more users and more engagement.
