Pedometer

Lightweight pedometer app using the hardware step-sensor for minimal battery consumption. This app is designed to be running all the time without having any impact on your battery life! It uses the hardware step detection sensor of devices like the Nexus 5, which is already running even when not using any pedometer app. Therefore the app does not consume any additional battery drain. Unlike other pedometer apps, this app does not track your movement or your location so it doesn't need to turn on your GPS sensor (again: no impact on your battery).
Sign in with your Google+ account to unlock achievements and compete with others in the leaderboards! The app also provides a DashClock extension, a widget and a notification to show your progress.

FAQ:
• Do not use any task killer if you want the app to work
• Achievements are granted the day after meeting the requirements

I really like this app. Simple, uncluttered, does what I want and doesn't get in the way. But on Friday it recorded 63k steps. Now, I was traveling that day (UK to Norway including two ferries) but I've done that twice before without it counting such a high number. I'm not concerned, just curious about the mechanism.

Works fine and is very simple, in a good way. And it doesn't drain the battery. Only one bug so far. When I import my backup csv file, the current day count jumps up to around 60.000, the rest of the import works fine.

Its the most efficient among all available apps. Love it because its foss and there are no stupid permissions. One star less because it does not show calories burned and its not 100% accurate.

Good pedometer. It offers integration with g-games for achievements to gamify and help motivate you. I wish this app had a history view to see my week, monthly , yearly progress. Also that it calculated the total burned energy.

Not updated in 2 years. The biggest gripe I have with this app is that I have to manually open it every time I want it to record my steps. Please keep an always on notification OR an accessibility service for this.

Best basic step counter. Easy on the battery. Accurate and easy to use. No unwanted features. Small footprint on my phone.

Nice complementary app with zero ads that would be great if supported by more detailed information & explanation about some of app features and related settings, along with dark/black theme UI availability.

A totally random counter. It measure me traveling the world while I am sitting on my bed! These measurement doesn't make any sense in real life. Edit: Dear developer/s, I was using the app in my Samsung Galaxy Note 20 ultra. Now if you wish to say that a $1500 phone has a bad sensor yet your app is absolutely great then it's comical!

simple, no ads, no inapp purchases. could do with more features like long time data storage and graphs

The best pedometer so out there. Sadly with Android pie and the aggressive closing of background apps, dosent work now. Can't see how to get Android to stop closing it.

Good simple app, no ads, but i only want to use it at work, can't figure out a way to reset/clear the step counter back to zero.

Good little app that seems to be reasonably accurate. Does double steps counted if I restart the phone.

No ads, no nagging, no invasive permissions. missing a rate-me link in the about tab. 😀 How about a step size calculator?

Its open source, No Ads, with minimal battery load. Wonderful !!! Thank you development team :)

Non-intrusive, low battery usage. Source is even available. Just what I wanted. Vicki H: instead of clearing the counter you could start a split counter.

The Nov 5 2018 update seems to have fixed the problems I was having on 2 phones with Android 8.

Was using it with different phone, LG Astoria 2. Since buying a Nokia 6.1 a week ago, the app is not working. Will not add steps to the count.

Worked for awhile then stopped counting and gave completely erroneous results, e.g. negative average for the month.

Excellent app. Small footprint, low power consumption and non-intrusive. Thanks guys.

If it had a option to stop counting, when I am not interested to use the app, it ge be great!

No special system permissions needed, just a simple pedometer. Just what i wanted!

Does not work on Nokia 6.1 (Android 9). Counted 5 steps since I installed it 2 days ago. Even went for a 20 minute walk.

Crashed. Lost my data. Wont restart. Nearly 16M steps lost.

DRG. Jun 27, 2019

Count is completely inaccurate, counts random amounts of steps.

simple, small, easy to use

I gave this a 5 star but I am rating it again because it does not clear data and you have no idea how far you have walked.
