Penzu

As a Penzu (premium) user for years, I love being able to jot down notes in the app when I am away from my laptop. However, I switched phones this year and now the app won't let me see journal entries or add new ones, it just remains stuck on the "loading" screen. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling....no luck.

It's been a great tool to have on hand. Easy to use. I would of like the copy / paste to work. Sometimes I would love to add quotes, but then find myself having to type it in myself. Also, a neat feature to improve on, the photo add on, maybe the layout, to be able to add multiples... Sometimes a picture means a thousand words.

I use this app with the desktop browser version. I started with the free version, journaling & jotting writing ideas on the go. App syncs beautifully with desktop with a quick page refresh. I haven't lost progress. I eventually upgraded for encryption & multiple journals. I love autosave feature. Great experience. Happy with this choice :) Love ability to lock journals: check journal settings to set autolock features if this is something you don't want. I find it helpful.

I really wanted to love this app. I have used it for long time for journaling. I liked that it was simple and pretty basic. I also liked that I could have it on two of my devices so that it would be link. However, I have found that it won't always sync. It also doesn't allow me to copy and paste . That is really a pain.I have had the journal close on me and not save and have lost everything I have written. Please fix these bugs. It is so frustrating. I am looking for something better.

While I have used the online penzu for years, I have found some issues with 'spacing'. Online when you type a sentence, it doesn't always reach the end before continuing on to the next line. In the android app, when I'm simply 'scrolling' through my entry, it automatically creates multiple spaces between every paragraph ruining the entire layout (sometimes the keyboard isn't even open when this happens). So unfortunately, cannot put entries into the app before it all malfunctions.

I love this app I've used it since two years ago. I tried many other apps before but it is different. I like reminders that they email me after one or two years after the date of writing. the basics are free and you can purchase options you like. I can access these anywhere anytime with any device. I don't actually need extra optioms I just need a safe and easy-to-use app that I can access it easily and fast. thank you for your app.

I've used Penzu in the past and I LOVED the fact that I could personalize each entry by attaching pics. After downloading it again today, I received the following message: "this app was built for an older version of Android and may not work properly," and there's no update for it. I have a Note 9, and I'd love to be able to use this app again. However, the option to do so without experiencing issues is unavailable, and journaling isn't something that I can afford to experience glitches in.

I enjoy spending time using this app to express any emotions I'm feeling at that moment. It has many great features without the upgrade, so I can just imagine how great it'll be with the premium version. The only problem I've been having is scrolling while I'm typing. The screen just displays the top of the screen and if I type past my keyboard, it does not let me scroll. It would be extremely appreciated if this conflict could be fixed, so I can continue writing long messages if needed.

I have been using the free version. I like that it is accessible from the desktop and my mobile app. So it doesn't matter what device I am on, I can continue with my journaling. Would highoy recommend this to someone who likes to journal on the go. I also like the interface very much. There are options to choose the theme and make it more personalized. And so, penzu feels personal and not like writing on a note pad. One suggest though, I wish there were more features to organise the contents.

I've used the website and the app daily for almost 4 years, and have been using the Pro version for several of those. As of about a week ago, performance has degraded, entries no longer save, and there appears to be a syncing issue. I've lost several hours of work. The company has acknowledged there's a problem via a canned response, but they haven't given any type of status or recommendation. An online journal that can't save entries, or worse - deletes them - is of somewhat limited use.

I feel truly grateful for this app. I have 345 entries since 2015. It's so easy because I ALWAYS have access to it. It's quick to open, no ads, no pressure, super simple to use. It saves my entries automatically every few seconds. I use it to make notes, write dreams. I only have basic, but it's saved me, by giving me somewhere to write, to vent. Uninterrupted. I love looking back on my entries and seeing how I've changed. I love it.

Note this app has not been updated since 2017!! Penzu doesn't care about this app! This app randomly does not save entries occasionally, which is frustrating. 20 minutes writing gone. so now I have anxiety whenever I use it. Will it save this time? What if I leave the app? I don't trust this app. this could be easily fixed. 1. Show at the top of the screen when the app saves, or is saving. This is not present. 2. Have a save button at the top, or anywhere, that users can press to start a save.

Been a Penzu user since the beginning in 2013 when at that time, we cannot update entries via phone, only via web. It has been a pleasant experience then til now. I love the simplicity of the journal, the fact that it auto syncs, and most of all, I love all the throwback of the past entries sent via email. Thanks for developing this App! Surely a recommended App for those who love to write a journal.

For the most part a great app. I love that it works across all of my devices, Android Microsoft and Apple. I will say the formatting doesn't transfer as seamlessly as I would like, a normal paragraph space on one device shows up as two spaces on another, and the font chosen on one isn't necessarily what you'll see on another, but those are small things compared to how well the app works across the board. I do though REALLY wish it had emoji support!

I love using this to journal quickly as I can reference it later to self improve or relay to a counselor. It is also valuable to me to be able to get my thoughts or frustrations "on paper", if you will, to process them more readily. Great app, good UI/UX Design, and nice looking interface that is customizable. Highly recommended as your journaling app.

I needed an electronic journal that was private. This is perfect for me because when I use the Notes in my phone, anyone can find them easily and its not very safe, it also takes up a lot of storage. But with Penzu, I know that all my entires are private and little space is being used on my phone. It saves automatically every few seconds so you never have to worry about losing your entires. You can even exit without saving and its got you covered!

I had the free version of this app for nearly 5 years. Its hands down the BEST writing app (and I had searched a lot). It allows you to lock it, create multiple entries, use offline, and add pics. Then customer service is great as well. I had accidentally deleted a journal and I emailed them about it and they restored it, no problem. I finally got the paid version (the 4.99$ one) and it's amazing. I never spend money on apps, but this one was worth it as I do write a lot. Best app ever!

I upgraded to pro plus. Supposed to include extras not available in pro version, such as handwriting fonts. I can't see any extras or even figure out how to access these extras. All I get is regular, boring fonts. Nothing in this app is worthy of paying for an upgrade. The only extra that came with a pro upgrade, were a limited selection of journal covers and nothing else. As far as I can see, nothing else is included in a pro plus upgrade. Very boring. Very disappointing.

Always look forward to using it. It has helped me get my thoughts down in an organised, yet elegant way. I love being able to pick fonts and upload images easily. I would love to see the fonts working on the phone and tablet apps as well as the desktop, but am happy to at least have them on the desktop. Overall, pleased.

I have been using this app for more than 5 years and as much as I loved it once, I have to say it lost its path. Simple thing like mobile sync gives errors and its disappointing. Moreover the updates are very slow. They have never added any cool feature thay other diaries have like calender or word cloud or summary stats. You see the thing is once you start using a diary app, you get locked in it cos its not easy to export and import all your old entries in a new diary.

I had the PRO version but it just lacks so many features or don't implement them well. In the whole year I didn't see any updates nor new features. I deleted a journal from the app but it deleted the wrong one. I didn't notice so tried deleting again and it deleted again the wrong one. I sent 2 messages to support and they don't bother answering. I would use the free version if I could change the dates but they don't allow that. Sadly there is no other better program around. But this is not good enough to continue using. And definitely not to spend more money on. It's like no one is home and haven't been for years.

The search option does not work. You should be able to search key words. I tried finding an entry about something I wrote about a year ago. But nothing comes up. Sometimes for certain words, only some of the entries come up, when I know I've used that key word before in other entries. It seems to pick and choose. It has been like this for years, this also hasn't had an update in years so you don't seem to care about fixing any of the issues we customers are having.

This app is in a grave need of an update. It lacks many additional features, such as dark mode and latest APIs for Android - especially given the fact that I signed up for Pro+ with the expectation of having the same features available in the app as on the website. Hopefully this will get resolved and I will update my review. On the plus side, it's easy to use and allows me to quickly write down things on my mind. It also syncs with their cloud service, which is a plus.
