The app could be an amazing learning tool, but it literally is freezing all the time during the Guess the Move option. Every time when the actual move is not guessed correctly and Stockfich engine starts working, the app becomes unresponsive. I see that similar complains were expressed by others as early as in 2019. But, it seems that the developer has abandoned working on the app. I have the paid version and I do believe it's unfair decision towards me and other users.
Yes, it's sad. I really wanted this app to work. Starting with the basic tactics puzzles, it will let me bring up a puzzle, and work it, but then completely locks up. I have to then stop the program and reopen it to go on to the next puzzle. Developers: I'm on a Galaxy note 9, with updated Android 9.
Love it! Only one flaw. You need to go to the stockfish website and download stockfish 14 zipfile (or latest version) and extract it to a folder on your device. Then under the settings in Perfect Chess Trainer you disable default engine and then click on navigate to engine, then navigate to the downloaded file in the folder you extraacted. Now the stockfish engine in tne app will work. The one they default install crashes the app.
Crashed on startup after the latest update. Iam on Android 6.0. Deleted all app data and was able to start the app. This app has become a must have. I hope the author continues to maintain and enhance it.
The paid version of the game will not open on my Huawei Mate 20 Pro (although the demo version works). I really hope you will fix this and other run problems with the app, because the app is outstanding excellent when it works!
wont open...just getting the following message: "Perfect Chess Trainer keeps stopping." sent feedback and no one responded...So I'm out of a game that I PAID FOR! Thanks for RIPPING ME OFF Perfect Chess Trainer! Not worth the hastle.
This app does not work properly. It's a shame because it's supposed to do a lot. I purchased the Pro version a few years ago and it didn't work right then and it doesn't work well now.
Immediate lock-up on install. Pity. Sounds like that's been a constant problem for this app

opening explorer gets stuck also does not show alternative moves on screen
it was working well but it stopped and it doesn't have a fix yet.
Guess the move gets stuck when an engine runs after the latest update.

stopped working, just crashes. ive tried deleting and reinstalling but it still doesnt work.
Great for learning chess, HORRIBLE interface. Needs orientation settings; in "portrait only", text is hard to read. In "auto-detect", landscape works great but when my phone moves slightly it exits to the main menu. EDIT: crashes now when opened. clearing app data fixes the issue, but seriously...
An amazing all-in-one chess app. It's taken me a while to find all the cool stuff in it (that's my fault, not the app's), but if you love chess you should have it. (April 10, 2019) The app is now crashing constantly (it won't startup) since I installed the January 2019 update. I've had to uninstall it from my phone. Please fix this.
Application is superb. One feedback is that more new content should be added especially for endgame and middle game. Also add features to play a game against stickfish engine and then to analyse it.
This could be the absolute best chess trainer app if it wasn't for the constant crashes. There's plenty of great content on the app and worked out variations of traps in popular openings. But the app is in a state where it's completely unplayable. When this gets fixed I will promise to change my review to 5 stars, until then the app is unplayable.
